Taylor and Norman are the best, most honest mechanics I've ever encountered. My experience: Two weeks ago my check engine light came on. I have an OBD2 scanner so I identified the codes. One was a bit strange, so I called. Taylor graciously took about 10 minutes out of his day to look up the codes and talk to me about the issues I was experiencing. There was a service bulletin out for one of them, so he recommended I go to the dealership for it. Major points for honesty here - he sent my business somewhere else that was better equipped to properly diagnose the issue. The dealership gave the diagnostic report and quoted me $1800(!) to replace the MAF sensor and throttle body. These aren't difficult to do, so I said no thanks and paid the diagnostics fee, figuring I could do the repair myself. I bought an OEM MAF sensor and some cleaner for the throttle body, but my drill wasn't strong enough to remove the screws holding the throttle body in place. That's when I brought my car in and spoke to Norman. At this point about 2 weeks had passed since my initial call. He actually remembered when I called Taylor just from overhearing his half of the conversation. I was really impressed by this, these shops can get really busy. In addition to installing the MAF sensor and cleaning/relearning the throttle body, I also had them do my oil change and tire rotation, and replaced the serpentine belt. I won't say the final bill but they came in more than $1000 lower than the dealership's quote, even including the additional work. This is actually my second time here, the first was a few years back when I asked for a mechanic's check on two used cars I was considering buying. They warned me off one because of issues with the make and model that had caused a string of recalls. On the other they showed me evidence of an accident/partial suspension rebuild that wasn't on the Carfax report, which I used to negotiate a lower price with the seller. That second car is the same one I brought in this time. They absolutely have my business for as long as I'm driving. read more

This place is amazing! So friendly, nice and truly seemed to care! They took my car when it broke down without any notice and had it towed there and they went to work right away. Water pump went out on my 2016 Expedition. I selected Orange Hills from the list of shops from my extended warranty and I am glad I did. Norm had me in within hours and had the work complete the next day. Communication was excellent. Friendly, honest, and good work. He even made sure to show me the old parts so I could see what was replaced. In my conversation with Norm, I could tell that his business approach is to do good work once so that the customer doesn't have to come back for rework, be honest, and treat customers well. It must be working because he has a shop full of cars whose owners trust him. While I hope I don't have to come back soon, Norm will be my first stop next time I need a mechanic. Best automotive mechanic in Orange County, bar none! Do yourself a favor and call them first as they get busy (a sign of a good mechanic). Went to Norm a few weeks ago and he hooked me up with a new water pump for my GMC Terrain. Although it took awhile because they were waiting on ordered parts, I was able to get my car back within a few days after they installed and tested it. Fast forward a few weeks, and I notice that my car was leaking.. I was initially worried that perhaps the water pump was not installed correctly. I called and  spoke to Andrew, and he told me to bring it in so that they could take a look. I ended up sending my wife as I was working that day as she was available. Lo and behold, the GMC dealership (never going there again) did shoddy work on my oil change and since they did not replace the oil filter properly it came off and leaked all my precious oil as I drove! After showing and explaining the issue to my wife, they were able to fix it and get my car running by replacing the broker filter and giving me  an oil change for FREE! I am so happy that I ended up calling them and thanking them personally. They are a great group of guys. Reasonably priced but the management and communication needs improvement. I dropped my car off the night before to have him work on it early in the morning. I called him around 3 times to see where my car was and each time I received a vague response. He said he was going to call me at 10:30 to say what's going on with my car. I heard nothing from him and had to call him again just to find out that he started working on my car at 11am. If I would have known he waited till 11 to start working on my car I would have never dropped it off the night before and ubered home. read more

Horrible services!!!.....They will take no responsibility for their actions. The cameras don't work, i think they are there for show. I took my car there to change 1 par just 1 part. Come to find out that someone had dented my car but it wasn't him or any of his workers and that he couldnt get the video feed because the SD card was missing and they couldn't upload anything from the DVR either. He offered to fix the dent himself, he took a week to fix the dent and when I get my car back the Paint is all wrong it started to chip and some parts in my car got switched out and some are missing from inside my car also. 5+ stars! Norman is the best! Met him years ago at his old location to plug a hole in my tire. Then, again when some other loser mechanic didn't tighten stuff down when my head gasket was replaced. Took the car in for an oil change and told him about the lack of torque when driving and he found the problem immediately, fixed it, and didn't charge us a dime (above the price of the oil change). THIS IS A REPOST OF MY ORIGINAL REVIEW...I WROTE THIS ORIGINAL REVIEW BEFORE NORMAN CHANGED LOCATIONS................................ This is my only 5 star review iv'e ever written, and guess what? I have never bought gas from this station in my life! The 5stars come from the guy in the back...Norman is an honest, friendly, fair, and hard working guy who knows you by name right after meeting you. When I call he greets me with a, "Hey its the Insurance Guy!". I am an insurance agent by trade. Norman is square and friendly, plus his work is very competent. I don't think you could ask for more. When I have had to repair my car he always tells me that he will look up the costs in his labor guide and bill what the book says. This is exactly what he does. But, it goes farther than that. I recently had my clutch go out and I have a rear main engine seal leak. I called a transmission shop and they quoted $800.00 labor for the job (from the labor guide). I then called Norman and he quoted me $494.00 from the labor guide. Well when I asked him about it he said the price can change by the way you book the order of the job...i.e. the trans shop booked it as step#1 Replace clutch Step#2 Resurface flywheel Step#3 replace rear main seal = $800.00 / Norman booked job as #1 Replace rear main seal #2 replace clutch #3 resurface flywheel = $494.00 You see this, in my opinion, is honesty. Just by booking the work in the most efficient work flow, Norman saved me $300.00, all by using the same labor guide. Finding an honest mechanic in today's world is hard, and Norman is an honest guy. Thanks to Norman I feel comfortable with taking his quotes at face value. PS I was hesitant on writing this review because I don't want Norman to get too busy, but the man deserves it and deserves your business!!!! My first yelp review ever was for Norman's last shop, back when he was at the 76 station in East Orange. He's got a new location, but it's the same great service. The man is honest to a fault and the service is phenomenal. Like an honest plumber, when you find a good, honest mechanic, you hang on to their number. I trust Norman with my life. When I need a no BS assessment, he's the guy I go to. He always goes the extra mile and you know he is giving you the straight dope. I have been going to Orange Hills Auto Care for over 6 years and have never had any complaints with them. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The guys that work there are truly professionals, they will deal with you honestly and will never charge you for anything your car doesn't need. I have since moved to Murrieta, which is over an hour and a half away, plus traffic, but whenever I need service, I always drive to Orange Hills Auto Care because it's worth it. With the mechanics there, you don't have to worry about getting ripped off, in fact they go above and beyond when servicing your car, they even offer me food and drinks while I wait! Their lot is full because so many customers go there, and I have left my car overnight on many occasions and never had any problems. If you even have doubts, I suggest you check your car dealership, get a quote and compare it to Orange Hills, I bet you will be surprised of how much you save! I see some comments here stating that the mechanics here fear God, so even if you don't believe in God, wouldn't you rather have someone who does working on your car? I've been going to this place for at least three years now so this review is overdue. I have three cars under the care of Norm: a 1996 Mitsubishi Montero SUV, a 2005 Volvo S40 sedan, and a 2006 Volvo XC90 SUV. Being older cars, the issues have ranged from minor ones such as oil change and brake repairs to more seriously complicated engine work. The repairs have all held up pretty well. To be honest, there was a repair made on a persisting but intermittent issue - very hard to troubleshoot and diagnose - that some shops in the past were not able to fix but Norm got this one right! This shop will not upsell you and will only recommend appropriate repairs - nothing more, nothing less. This shop is very honest, highly competent and professional that provides excellent customer service! And as everyone likes to know, it does not charge an arm and a leg! I have recommended this shop to all my friends. I drive 15 miles to get to this shop passing hundreds of auto repair and service shops along the way but I will continue to bring my cars here. read more
