Around here there isn't much of a coffee shop shortage. You can go into most shopping complexes and grab a cup of coffee. We came in here on a whim and I thank the fates! We ordered the panama beans with a Chemex. The man who made my coffee saw me browsing over the regular sugar and stopped me from making the grievous mistake of throwing Splenda into my perfect cup. He brought out some pure cane sugar blocks. Not the white bleached kind but the actual cane sugar. Now I knew this place cared about its coffee! Came here to study for a couple hours on a Sunday afternoon. Friendly service when I asked the barista for a recommendation. I got the nutella latte and requested it be made not that sweet. The flavor was on point, but I did notice that it was kind of lukewarm, as another reviewer pointed out. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable. The cafe was on the smaller side with maybe 10 or so 2-person tables and 3 or 4 larger tables that seat 5 or more. This is one of the cutest cafes I've ever been to!! The interior seemed kind of small to me, but I'm sure it's because it was pretty packed on the Monday afternoon my friend and I visited. I wasn't a fan of the sweet potato latte (I'm not a huge fan of sweet potatoes in general) BUT OH MY GOD. THE PATBINGSOO. For those of you that aren't familiar with patbingsoo, it's Korean shaved iced. American shaved ice usually consists of broken up ice pieces coated in a sugary syrup, but Korean shaved ice is finely shaved ice covered in toppings. This one in particular was served INSIDE OF A MELON. IT WAS AWESOME. The ice was definitely shaved mixed in with condensed milk and topped with little balls of melon that was scooped from the melon that the dessert was served in. Also topped with red beans!! IT WAS SO GOOD. Hands down one of the BEST patbingsoos that I have EVER had. It's a lot bigger in person so if you do decide to get one, think about sharing!! read more

It is a petite cafe that provides better coffee than most places I have tried. I usually get coffees/coffee related menus and haven't tried any other drinks, but so far their coffees are on point. Although I haven't tried other drinks than coffee, I did try their pastry menus such as honey bread and macaroons. we ordered a bread order, and about 4 drinks. Because it was busy, we sat outside in the cold. When a table opened up we decided to go in. I asked the guy cleaning the table if we can sit there, and he goes "oh really?" and he kept asking all these questions like did you order anything insinuating that we didn't and kept questioning me. One person in our group had bubble tea from kungfu tea (a neighboring store) because they don't like coffee there. The reviews had me expecting something great. I was so excited to try OCB. It was meh! Service was not the friendliest. I told the woman I'd never been there before and she just stared at me. Some suggestions or guidance would have been nice. The place was smaller than expected, I wouldn't want to spend too much time there hanging out. They have a small section of pastries (literally about 3 choices). I wasn't impressed with the offerings. I got the sweet potato latte, super-duper sweet to the point it was turning my stomach. It does not have coffee in it which the lady did tell me, so that's my fault. I should have added a shot of coffee it would have probably been good then. Either way, I don't have to go back. This is the only bingsoo place around me that uses part/all of the actual fruit! This time, we got the melon bingsoo, and the fruit tasted fresh like they just made it. It took about 15 minutes for it to come out, but it was worth the wait. The artistry of the bingsoo was most definitely Snapchat-worthy, maybe even Instagram-worthy. I have had many bingsoos in South Korea, and this one is very comparable to the ones in Korea. It was kind of tricky to eat, as we did not want to topple the beautiful sculpture of carved melon balls, but because of the plate under the melon, we could still ravage the bingsoo with relative ease. The ice cream and red bean was a refreshing combination with the melon, making it a perfect dessert for the summertime. The cafe itself was quite small and cramped, as there were a lot of people there, but the group of three people I went with did not have a hard time finding a seat, but it might get more complicated if you go with a group of 5 or more people. I went to experience the macaroon ice cream that unfortunately was discontinued which was a bit of a disappointment considering all the great reviews other people were leaving it. Ad an alternative I ended up getting the Honey bread is basically toast with kiwi, strawberry, banana, walnuts, chocolate syrup and one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall after waiting 10-15 min, I ended up getting the Honey bread. The toast itself was cripsy, while the other flavors were nothing too special. Overall I appreciate the amount of toast they give but the toast to fruit/ice cream ratio was a little off for me, since I kept getting a heavy feeling from eating the toast without enough balancing of my palate. read more

We called the servers over to explain our worried but both of the servers told us that why didnt we asked them which fruit is good before we ordered. WTF! If you know your food is not editable why the F you served your customer. 3 of my gf got sicked from this watermelon shaved after a bite of it. This is because they have a drink that's so delicious that whenever I come, I can't imagine not ordering it. What is this spectacularly addictive drink? THE KIWI JUICE. Oh my goodness, taking a sip of the kiwi juice is like having a tropical island in my mouth. AN ISLAND OF KIWIS. I've never had juice so fresh before. There honestly is nothing but fresh squeezed kiwi in the cup, with some ice on top. The juice itself is just like taking a big bite into a kiwi, it has a sweet but tangy taste. I've also tried their strawberry and banana juice. It's also very tasty but just isn't as unique as the kiwi juice. The strawberry and banana is still better than most others I've tried elsewhere. Very fresh and tasty. The juices are ~$4.99. [DESSERTS] I know Orange Coffee has added in a line of breakfast/dessert toasts, I haven't tried those yet so I'll definitely need to revisit and then update my review. I have, however, tried and loved their honeydew shaved ice. This stuff, priced at $12.99, definitely isn't cheap. But hey, you get a good amount of dessert! The honeydew shaved ice comes served on half a honeydew. In it, you'll find little balls of honeydew, vanilla ice cream, red bean, and of course, shaved ice! Though Duluth isn't a place I'd consider to be my backyard or anything close enough to visit on even a monthly basis, but I was up there for the day nonetheless. After lunch, we were in the market for a good coffee shop to post up at and Orange Coffee Bar was the first to come up on search. Away we went. The shop is relatively small with a small collection of tables and bench seating around the perimeter of the room. We grabbed a seat on the side which was a pretty cozy spot for a few hours. Once settled, we approached the bar and had a great chat with the kind staff behind the bar. In looking at the menu, I had a ton of questions. First up, the Dutch Coffee. This is what they call cold brew coffee and they offer it in a few different fashions -- one of which being bottled. Unfortunately, they were out of this. Bummer. The rest of the menu had some interesting choices -- nutella latte, kiwi juice, lots of melon items. Looking forward to heading back to try more. Instead, I settled for an iced matcha latte, which was fantastic. Though it was a bit sweeter than I typically like, it still had great flavor. I love matcha and theirs was great. I'm definitely a fan of this spot. Really dig what they have going on here and it seems like they are doing some things that other businesses are not doing in the area or for the rest of the metro area. Apparently, the owner of Orange has been showing pictures of me to his employees trying to find out who I am and why I wrote such a bad review. He came up to a friend of mine and asked her if the picture of me was someone she knew and then gave her an earful about my review and explained why his coffee was so elaborate and expensive. I did not mention anything about his pour-overs, just the decaf coffee, so I don't know why he would pester my friend about something I did not even write about. Imagine how uncomfortable she was listening to him while he smoked a cigarette in front of his own cafe. He then told her that I was not welcome there anymore. I've given below-average ratings to a few establishments in the past and all I've gotten were apologetic messages (which I appreciate because they took the time to email me), but going around showing a picture of me and asking who I am makes me very uncomfortable, especially in the Korean community where almost everybody knows each other. If you open an establishment, you're bound to get some sort of honest review, whether it's good or bad. I just hope he doesn't find out where I live. read more

This place focuses on good coffee and while there are many spots to grab a cup of coffee or espresso in the area you will not find the taste of your coffee anywhere else. In addition to the coffee they offer an array of freshly prepared fruit juices and shakes. I personally like the kiwi, but ask that they limit the added sugar. I really like this place. I like the whole membership with your name on a cup on the wall too. My favorite is still the sweet potato latte with 3 shots espresso, just 20 cent a shot. Just make sure you don't add it after the fact, then it's a different pricing, understandable. They open til 11pm so it's nice to make a coffee run once in awhile. They have some pastries and honeydew shaved iced smothered and covered with red beans and a scoop of ice cream. It's cute and delicious. I visited exactly a week ago and I gotta say, I can't stop thinking about this bakery. I can't believe I've haven't heard of it until just recently. FOOD: - Honey Bread || this is my all-time favorite. It's not too much and heavy and it's great for sharing. The pre-sliced thick sliced toast is heated up and pre-sliced so that it makes it easier for you to tear instead of using a knife. The honey toast is topped with one scoop of ice cream. You can order additional scoops for an additional small charge. We opted for two scoops of vanilla. The toast is also topped with fruits like kiwi and strawberries. Whip Cream is provided as well on the top of it all. A sliced banana is plated on the side of the dessert. To finish the look of the dessert, it is drizzled with chocolate syrup and a dash of powdered sugar. This is probably my favorite dessert of all time now. I cannot wait 'til the next time I'm here again for this. - White Chocolate Caramel Macchiato || this drink is a twist to the traditional caramel macchiato. I think it tastes like the traditional, but on a lighter note and it doesn't feel like it weighs your stomach down or makes you feel too full after you drink it all. If you don't want a coffee or drink that is heavy, I would suggest the Whilte Chocolate Caramel Macchiato. - Green Tea Latte || my friend ordered this drink and I was able to have a taste. I think it's good and tastes just like how Green Tea should taste. I think you must have to really enjoy green tea as it does taste somewhat on the stronger side of green tea and not weak like how Starbucks makes this drink. Overall, great drink for Green Tea lovers out there. - Nutella Latte || my friend ordered this drink and I was able to have a taste. If you love chocolate, especially Nutella, I would say this is the drink for you. It remind me of Hot Chocolate, but mixed with a coffee taste. I think it's a great drink as with all of the drinks that they have on the menu. Fantastic drinks and it's just so hard to choose just one to have. AMBIANCE: The staff are very professional and they know that they are doing with the cofee and drinks. They make it just right. They bring the orders to your table instead of them calling out numbers or names for you to pick up your order at the counter. I like this type of service better. It means less people are crowding the cashier/front counter. The establishment provides a very chill and relaxed environment for studying, friends catching up, or just a after dinner or lunch pick me up. The decor is so cute and I especially love the book shelf of mugs. You've got to check the place out to see what I am seeing. There is complimentary wifi and the password is: hawaiikona. The establishment is located in the same shopping center as MJ Korean Tacos & Wings and also the famous Honey Pig KBBQ. Our group happened here for dessert after a great dinner at Tofu Kitchen. We ordered a few things to nosh on including: shaved cantaloupe, shaved watermelon, the honey bread, 2x pistachio macaroons, an iced coffee and an iced green tea. A little heads up on the shaved desserts, they are basically hollowed out melon shells (your choice of watermelon or cantaloupe) that is packed with shaved ice, a layer of condensed milk which is then covered with the balls of melon, red beans and then topped with vanilla ice cream. It's really great and refreshing for the hot days we've been having. The honey bread is a thick slice of toast with honey and chocolate syrup drizzled on top with a scoop of ice cream, kiwi / strawberry and banana slices on the side. The desserts started a serious taste test amount our group, but the majority consensus was that the watermelon shaved ice was the best, followed closely by the honey bread and least favorite was the shaved cantaloupe. However, it really does depend if the fruit itself is at its ripest, sweetest point so each dessert won't be consistent because of that. The honey bread was pretty much devoured by all and was really good, although really carb loaded. I did like the macaroons as they were lighter and not as artificially sweet like the ones at Mac lab (sorry to the Mac Lab devotees). Of everything we ordered, I liked our drinks the least. They were both well made however was pretty bitter for me. The green tea has an intense matcha taste, so if that bothers you stay away from this drink. The shop itself is pretty cute and comfy. There are 2-3 longer tables to accommodate groups as well as smaller, bistro style ones for a party of 1-2. Basically it's ice cream desserts, tiny macaroons or prepackaged biscotti. At a coffee shop there should be breads like muffins or cakes. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
