It is rare in that it both has a soul and is run exceptionally well. Everyone from the owner and teachers to desk staff put their heart into the Shop, and it shows. The owner Ashley does an amazing job at creating a warm and inclusive environment where you can get your yoga fix, get your workout on in barre or spin, and have fun and make friends in the process. They have regular community events, teacher trainings, and a stacked class schedule with something for everyone. Teachers are knowledgeable and welcoming - this studio attracts and creates top tier instructors without the bullsh*t. Ashley, Justin, Jenny, Kandi, Anaiz, Mo, Sara... I'd keep going, but I can't list everyone and there literally is not a teacher here I wouldn't recommend. Big plus that the space is beautiful and in a great location near AJ's, good restaurants, and shopping. I work from home, and for almost 5 years I have considered this studio my home away from home. I always leave feeling happy and supported. If you want to do something good for your body and mind, and be part of a high quality low drama community, support local and come here!!

I appreciated the community/neighborhood feel!

desert mvmt offered an outdoor class a few weeks ago at Rise Uptown Hotel and I went to that event…read moreto see what their instructors and style was about. The outdoor class wasn't purely yoga and it was more like a HIIT class, and it was good to switch up my routine. I enjoyed that outdoor class and as a complimentary offer, they gave everyone a 1 week free pass to their studio. I don't often pass up free passes, so today I figured I would come in and check out their sculpt class. I have taken plenty of yoga classes, but just never a sculpt class, so that was fun to try something new. The studio and reception area are all in one big room and when I stepped in a little before 5pm, I was greeted by very loud thumping music as the class before was still going on and it's interesting that this place does not have some kind of sound divider between where the class is taught and where you check in/lounge area. So that felt a bit awkward for me, but not a big deal. Staff here are nice and helpful. There is one bathroom and I was able to change there before class. Storage area is small, but still very manageable. The studio does provide mats for you, but I didn't know that and had already brought my own, which the staff allowed me to use during class. It's recommended to start with 2 lb weights for sculpt class, which worked out fine for me. Blocks, mats, weights are all provided for you and a water station also available. The class was well taught and I definitely got a great, sweaty workout and I did enjoy the high tempo pop music that accompanied the class. Only issue was that the instructor's microphone did get a bit staticky during class. I also really like that this studio has mirrors on two sides of their wall and with ballet bars. Having mirrors in class really helps you to realign yourself properly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will sign up for a few more classes and check out some other styles. If you like a high energy workout with good instruction and don't mind a one room experience, this could "work out" for you (no pun intended), as it did for me!

Recently visited and attended a 90 minute hot yoga session - which if you've never done a heated…read moreclass before is not recommended! The layout of the class and the instructor were great. The heat of the classroom was the hottest I've experienced, and I've attended a handful of classes around the valley. This studio had the classroom set to 110 degrees, with a closed door and full class so the temperature easily feels closer to 115. If you're new to heated classes, I would work your way up to this class/studio. They do offer great pricing for class packs if you're interested in trialing it out for two weeks. If you're sensitive to heat/scent, I wouldn't recommend a heated class as you DO sweat heavily as well as all other participants. Meaning - you WILL smell other people and their sweat. The studio offers lockers and cubbies to hold your items and also has a well kept bathroom with showers to rinse off after class.

I took a class here last night in studio B and it was a heated flow class. Pretty challenging but hey that's what we need in life to be even better than we were yesterday. Only complaint about this studio is that there is only one bathroom for women for a studio this size. There is definitely a line for the bathroom in the women's locker before classes. Locker room is a decent size but also could use one more bench in the middle so people have a place to put their stuff when grabbing items out of the lockers. I like the Foundry and think their studios are pretty solid, you'll definitely seeing me coming back again!
