Had such a great experience at Opus Sushi in Arcadia! Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We tried the Deluxe Sashimi, Uni & Toro Bowl, Blue Crab & Uni Bowl, Crunch Roll, and Rainbow Roll, and honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite. The Deluxe Sashimi was incredibly fresh with a great variety of fish, and the Uni & Toro Bowl was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Blue Crab & Uni Bowl was another standout -- the combination of the sweet blue crab with the uni was delicious. We also tried the Crunch Roll and Rainbow Roll, which were both flavorful and a great addition to the meal. Overall, Opus Sushi is definitely worth checking out if you're in the Arcadia area and looking for quality sushi with generous portions and a great selection. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

This sushi restaurant has been around for along time and is one of the most fresh sushi restaurants in Arcadia, it has all kind of variations of sushi and is very fresh, love the fresh uni and raw oysters. The service was great and place is very roomy.

5/19/2026 - This is my first time to dine at Opus Sushi, and I am impressed with the quality of many incredibly fresh sushi - see photos for your reference. It is worth noting that the Live Sweet Shrimp (Sashimi) is better than those I had in Tokyo Japan in 10/2025 as well as many sushi restaurants in Los Angeles! The Fried Live Sweet Shrimp Heads are crispy with a great texture on the skin. The Live Wide Santa Barbara Sea Uni are outstanding, they are fresh and sweet without any unpleasant smell - don't miss this golden opportunity to taste this fresh Live Wild Sea Urchin. Sashimi salad is also great with fresh fishes.

This restaurant is so good ! The fish is so fresh. We got the uni which came in the shell and it was buttery and soft. The sweet shrimp was still moving! They fry the head which was crunchy. The Kobe tongue was so tender and flavorful. The bluefin trio was also good. They have lunch special which I want to try next time. They use seasonal high quality fish. The ambience is nice. This is worth visiting !

A solid spot! The inside has good amount of seating which a large menu. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the sushi and sashimi set which was good. The fish didn't have a fishy taste and was a decent sized cut. I was super full by the end of it. I do wish they could name the type of fish that was given since I was guessing for some of them.

Surviving the SoCal heat wave ? Treat yourself to some high-quality Japanese food to cool down!!! We treated ourselves to an amazing spread at Opus Sushi -highly recommend the live raw shrimp (yes, the head was still moving ), super fresh! Oyster with uni and ikura -- all those luxurious ingredients together Sushi and sashimi set loved the presentation and top-tier quality Also loved their specialty rolls, including the whatever roll and Kobe beef roll -something you don't see everywhere! Chirashi
Elaine H.

My friend and I came here around 2pm for lunch and there was only one other party. By the time we left, the crowd started to come in. It's a very spacious space with many booths, table, and bar seating. We both ordered the chirashi and it was filling and lots of large pieces of sushi, with the variations of spicy tuna and spicy something else! It was nice to have that variety. We were both very full.

Garlic Edamame (warning: it's spicy and will burn your mouth)

Only come here if you want to be completely ignored by the waiters the entire time. The service was AWFUL! The amount of time we waited for someone to take our order or for someone to bring us the check is unacceptable. I'm writing this still waiting for the check. It's ridiculous. The sushi chef was also not wearing gloves and wiping his nose with his hands then touching the sushi. Disgusting. I ordered the cucumber roll, which was a total scam. They brought out 6 of the tiniest rolls I've ever seen in my life and then charged it $6 ($1 a roll for the SMALLEST rolls I've ever seen). Ridiculous. I'm still hungry and pissed. We also ordered the garlic edamame which came out incredibly spicy even though there was absolutely no warning about that anywhere on the menu.

Vincent L.

The sushi and sashimi set was a great way to sample the menu -- fatty tuna, uni, sea bream, yellowtail, salmon, all well-cut and tasting like they came straight off a boat. We also grabbed the yellowtail jalapeño and salmon carpaccio as starters, both solid choices. The Kobe beef roll was a standout among the maki options. Sake clams and yakitori rounded out the meal nicely without feeling like afterthoughts. Portions were generous and pricing felt fair for what you're getting -- especially since they run free delivery and pickup deals fairly often. Cozy enough for a date but relaxed enough that you're not overthinking it. Would definitely be back for a small group dinner or just a weeknight treat.

I was invited to try Opus Sushi in Arcadia, and it absolutely delivered. They specialize in sea urchin (uni), and you can truly taste the quality and freshness in every bite. We tried the yellowtail jalapeño, salmon carpaccio, live sweet shrimp, Kobe beef tongue, cherry stone clams, multiple rolls, including the Kobe Beef Roll and the fun "Whatever Roll," plus yakitori and shrimp miso soup to finish. The cocktails were also impressive; the yuzu margarita and passion fruit highball were perfect for a date night vibe. If you're looking for a Valentine's Day sushi spot in Arcadia or just one of the best sashimi experiences in the San Gabriel Valley, Opus Sushi is worth the visit.

Insane sushi spread! Everything was so good
Felisha J.

The seafood was incredibly fresh. The live sweet shrimp was the highlight... it was so fresh the shrimp head was still moving! The uni was also rich, creamy, and delicious. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience enjoyable and the place is spacious, clean, and comfortable with plenty of room to dine without feeling crowded. Definitely one of the better sushi spots in Arcadia. I'll be back!

Food is ok, depend on the chief. Some days you get a larger portion. The waitress is not good.

If I had…read moreto rank them, Pasadena would be #1 for cleanliness, easy parking, service, and overall hand roll quality. Koreatown would be #2. The service and hand rolls are just as good as Pasadena, but the parking isn't free, which is the main reason I rank it slightly lower. Downtown LA would be #3. At this point, I'd rather go to the Pasadena or Koreatown locations because I've had a better overall experience at both. I came to the Pasadena location on a Wednesday around noon. It was pretty empty when we arrived, but about 30 minutes later, right as we were leaving, it started getting busy with the lunch crowd. Every hand roll was well prepared and tasted fresh. The waitress who greeted us and helped seat us was very kind. She was wearing black glasses and kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay. She was attentive and very professional. The only negative was that I noticed a slight fishy smell from the water glass. Hopefully they can make sure all the glasses are thoroughly cleaned. Overall, Pasadena is still my favorite KazuNori location, and I'll definitely be back.

A5 Wagyu Tartelette with caviar 9/10: delicious tartare and truffle flavor paired well, it had a bit too much truffle where we couldn't appreciate the Wagyu flavor as much because of it Smoked ribeye tataki 10/10: delicious smoked flavor. Typically I'm skeptical that are as just extra fluff for visuals, but these micro greens actually paired so well with the smokey meat flavor. Chawanmushi 7/10: classic Chawanmushi, egg was cooked well, not particularly better than others I've had. The Dine LA menu says it is with uni and okra, but ours today was abalone and mushroom, which were still delicious. Prime ribeye 9/10: delicious soft and tender. They cook each piece for you Dry aged ribeye 10/10: not part of Dine LA deal. this was the complementary course for Yakiniku week. Had some extra flavor due to being dry aged 3-4 weeks. Wish it was part of the set menu! Wagyu short rib 10/10: favorite of the night! Melts in your mouth and delicious beef flavor Filet mignon 7/10: classic filet, soft. They serve it with the bone marrow rice. It was a bit bland so I'm glad they serve it with wasabi. If you haven't tried steak with wasabi, give it a shot. Bone marrow rice 10/10: prepared table side. The kimchi, mushroom, seaweed all pair well with the rice. Rice itself was cooked well. It wasn't overly salty or savory, it was a good balance of buttery flavor. Miso cappuccino ice cream 4/10: the vanilla bean ice cream was a bit icy rather than creamy. The miso cappuccino foam was too salty personally for me. There was a strong coffee flavor, but it was overpowered by the saltines. Imperial palace cocktail 9/10: not part of the set menu. It was a good balance of Yuzu and whiskey. Often times when you order a Yuzu cocktail it just has a generic citrus flavor, but this one was a true strong yuzu flavor. Refreshing and complimented the savory meat dishes Overall, it's pricey for the amount of food you get, but that's expected with a premium wagyu set dinner. Especially if we did not get the complimentary course, it is a small amount of food for the $78 set and you won't leave full. But the quality and taste were premium. Service: very kind and attentive staff. They even gave us a complementary palate cleanser dish, and a scallion sauce to try. Ambiance: spacious dining room, we did not leave smelling like smoke or barbecue. The bathrooms are clean and have fancy Japanese toilets. There's a big parking lot out front, which was easy to find parking.

Food: the quality of the food is in no doubt high-end. My favorites from the 15 course were the a5 wagyu tartlette, the black cod, and the white chocolate dessert. However, I felt that at the same price point, the wow factor left room for improvement compared to a prix fixe menu elsewhere. In addition, perhaps because the meat has to be cold before hitting the grill, even though the cook to rare was perfect, it left the mouthfeel of it being lukewarm albiet being freshly off the grill. For this reason, this would be one and done for me. I can't say that it justified the price tag of $128.

Not sure about street parking. There's not a lot of lightning at night except for the business signages that do give off lighting. Upon entry, I was greeted and seated right away. Came here during late lunch so they weren't super busy. Not a big restaurant with a capacity of about 40 people. One all gender restroom available for customer use only. Lunch special menu was available. Other menu had main items, appetizers, and drinks. Prices were fairly reasonable. They are known for their famous pork katsu. I am not a big katsu fan so I didn't get it. Mochi Udon looked interesting so I got it with the Chicken Karaage (free offer from food passport... stamp #10) plus water. While I was waiting for my order, I was fascinated by all the different designed ducks displayed on the window sills and front counter. I am curious about their duck story. Inquirer wants to know. Mochi Udon bowl came out piping hot and steamy. A small plate of cabbage came with it. The bowl's nice presentation made it pleasantly appetizing. Broth was savory and slightly sweet in a good soothing way. Udon noodles tasted homemade... very bouncy and slippery. YUM! Two mochis were soft and chewy. Fish cakes were fresh and delicious. One chicken piece was moist and tender. Wished there was one or two more chicken pieces though... one was just a teaser! Chicken Karaage was the best looking and tasting plate I have ever had. My wife found Tendon Tempura Carlos Junior, which looked promising. We just had no idea who Carlos is. We arrived at around 11:52 am and put our name on the waitlist. While we waited, we scanned the QR code and found out that Carlos is the Peru-born chef and owner who moved to Japan to perfect the art of tempura. This obviously meant that tempura was a must-order item, but there were other tempting menu items such as tuna donburi, sashimi, and sushi. After about fifteen minutes, the two waitresses seated us indoors and grabbed our waters and menus. The restaurant itself was on the smaller side but had counter seating, five tables, and outdoor seating. We think Carlos was actually working diligently behind the counter. I couldn't take my eyes off the Carlos jewel box, tempura scallop, shrimp, and squid served with fresh ahi, salmon, and yellowtail over a bed of rice. I ultimately ordered the Carlos jewel box AND the premium tendon bowl (eel, shrimp, and mixed seafood tempura). My wife opted for the tuna bowl with cold soba and mooched off the kid's shrimp tempura. Now, we have been to Japan before and indulged in fresh sashimi and fried tempura. One bite of Tendon Tempura's food transported me back to a small mom-and-pop shop in Japan. I honestly couldn't tell if their sashimi or the tempura was better--the tempura being freshly fried and flakey yet succulent; the sashimi fresh and thickly sliced served expertly with shiso leaf and kaiware.
