Eye care doesn't get any better than with Dr. Wagner. I drive an hour and half to see him!

He saw me on the Sunday after my surgery because I lost my vision in that eye. He is still treating it for uveitis 3 years later! If I call with a problem they tell me to come to the office now! He's a very skilled surgeon and diagnostician. So sad he will be retiring next year.

I advised them it was essential that I have it, plus they were closed on Wednesday. I picked up the prescription from Thames on Tuesday afternoon. Great, I thought. I looked at it, no signature and the prescription was in the "notes" section. Not even in the area where it should be written. I questioned why NO signature? The optometrist even said, "That should be fine with no signature". I went to my appointment elsewhere to purchase (at a much lower cost than Thames) my contacts. I was told that since NO signature, they could not fill my contact prescription!! I then went in on Thursday.. spoke with the receptionist. She said there was no way she could help, as my doctor was out of the office. Well, what does that have to do we me getting my prescription? Have the other physician sign off on it! We went round and round. Finally, she said she would have Dr Grills sign it. For me to give her my email address, she would email it to me from her home. Then, mail it to me. She said she would definitely do this for me. Friday morning .... nothing. No email. Called Thames Eye Group again. She said she emailed it to me. I never received it. She said she knows she emailed it to me. I told her that was unfortunate, but I needed my prescription today. Not yesterday or next week, today. She said that it couldn't be done. Dr Grills was leaving. I told her it takes 20 seconds!! It's MY prescription! I'm not looking for an exam!! This was RIDICULOUS!!! She swore the email went through to me and maybe i didn't see it, it what she was insinuating? I told her I had a lot of other things to do than to be calling and stopping in to my eye dr!! What in God's name?! We will see what happens this afternoon at 1:00 PM when she told me it would be ready for me to pick up. So... after all this, which could have been resolved the first go around on Tuesday, has led me to write up this review and they've lost not only me as a patient but two others that go there. Absurdity at it's finest! PS - Where I go to get my contacts (Costco), the optometrist there told me they get this ALL the time from Thames. That Thames doesn't understand why the don't sign the prescriptions... perhaps they don't wan their business going to places like Costco? Who knows... all I can think of.

I love the sailor bracelets and think it's a beautiful classic accessory. This store is in a cute building that has a small lighthouse design on the exterior. There were an array of items to choose from. Whether you're buying items to decorate your home or accessories to wear. There are classic bracelet styles to ones with a hook or anchor. For home, there are coasters, wreaths, and more. There are keychains, pet toys, etc. We enjoyed shopping around the store. We bought two bracelets and an anklet. There was a person making these items in store. It's well crafted and lovely; there were many colors to choose from too. If you're in Mystic, it's worth a stop to get a souvenir there!

Really, a knot store? Them my wife in excitement exclaims "Yes!!"…read more Apparently this is something that has been going on for years where you get a knot bracelet or anklet and wear it throughout the entire summer. At the end of summer you cut it off leaving only the tan line behind as a memory of another summer past. This store has every color and size you can imagine and if they don't have it, they'll simply make it for you right then and there. The staff is amazing. The owner made my NY Mets bracelet and let me know that this store is generational and not a chain. Bracelets & Anklets vary in price from $7-12.50 as the get more intricate. They also have a ton of other knot work products like dog toys, table stuff, etc. Overall, this place is a must see if in Mystic.

Needless to say I was highly unimpressed with Dr. Medwick's Mystic Office…read more 1. The Mystic office looks like the basement of someone's home. I don't think the place has been renovated since the 1970s. Minor point, but it should have been a clue to as what was in store. 2. All of the equipment in the exam room looks to be from the 1970s as well. Again, not an indication of the quality of the service provided, but somewhat disconcerting. 3. I did not see Dr. Medwick wash his hands. Why is this a big deal? Well because he used his fingers to remove my contacts. He may have washed his hands before entering the room, but the fact he touched a number of surfaces upon entering the room makes that a moot point. 4. After the exam, the receptionist said Dr. Medwick would order contacts for me. I called back two weeks later to find out they had not been ordered in the first place. 5. Two weeks later the contacts arrive. I called the office to make sure I could pick them up. I was told I could. I drive to the Mystic office and no one is there. Turns out the receptionist was at the New London office. Fine. I make arrangements to pick them up at a later date after being assured they would be available then. 6. Not wanting to waste another drive, I called the office at the prearranged time. I find out my contacts are still at the New London office (she forgot to bring them over). "Don't worry" I was told, I'll bring them next time. 7. I call the following week at the prearranged time. No answer even thought I was calling during "office hours" (note, the phone rings at both the New London and Mystic offices). 8. I try calling the following week and again no answer, even though I was calling during office hours. 9. I call the next week to find my contacts are ready. Great! I drive there, take a look at the contacts to find out they ordered the wrong prescription for one eye. Again, I leave empty handed. 10. Two weeks later I call again (I never got a call that the new contacts were in), but no answer during office hours. 11. I call the following week and finally receive my contacts, almost two months after my actual exam. Obviously, I will not be using Dr. Medwick as my optometrist any more.
