He might be sweet to youth, but as an adult wearing glasses my whole life since I was 10, he was rude to the extreme. I couldn't go back. I read up on what was going with me a found another doctor who couldn't understand why it wasn't drained because it was never going to go away on its own and may get worse. Initially, I was impressed with the location, the staff, & the service. Be forewarned though that…read morewhatever you may be going in for, they will attempt to get you to buy multi-focal lenses....very expensive multi-focal lenses. I went to this establishment concerned about my vision, hoping they could help. I was given a thorough examination & then I was given the talk. I was led to believe that my new 700.00 dollar frames would help improve my vision. I gave the glasses a chance for a few months, but they weren't helping. I tried to get a refund, but was told too much time had elapsed. Upon going to a neuro-ophthamologist to aid with my vision, I had simply been previously prescribed the incorrect glasses. When I went back to discuss this with them they once again said too much time had passed to issue a refund & I overheard them giving the pitch to another customer for multi-focal lenses. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure many benefit from them, but be wary & possibly get a second opinion determining if you really need them. I'll give them credit, they gave me a 15$ gift certificate to Starbucks when I bought the glasses, so...ahhh....cool.

He saw me on the Sunday after my surgery because I lost my vision in that eye. He is still treating it for uveitis 3 years later! If I call with a problem they tell me to come to the office now! He's a very skilled surgeon and diagnostician. So sad he will be retiring next year.

Not good. I requested my contact prescription on a Tuesday. They couldn't guarantee I would have it…read morethat day. I was picking it up. I advised them it was essential that I have it, plus they were closed on Wednesday. I picked up the prescription from Thames on Tuesday afternoon. Great, I thought. I looked at it, no signature and the prescription was in the "notes" section. Not even in the area where it should be written. I questioned why NO signature? The optometrist even said, "That should be fine with no signature". I went to my appointment elsewhere to purchase (at a much lower cost than Thames) my contacts. I was told that since NO signature, they could not fill my contact prescription!! I then went in on Thursday.. spoke with the receptionist. She said there was no way she could help, as my doctor was out of the office. Well, what does that have to do we me getting my prescription? Have the other physician sign off on it! We went round and round. Finally, she said she would have Dr Grills sign it. For me to give her my email address, she would email it to me from her home. Then, mail it to me. She said she would definitely do this for me. Friday morning .... nothing. No email. Called Thames Eye Group again. She said she emailed it to me. I never received it. She said she knows she emailed it to me. I told her that was unfortunate, but I needed my prescription today. Not yesterday or next week, today. She said that it couldn't be done. Dr Grills was leaving. I told her it takes 20 seconds!! It's MY prescription! I'm not looking for an exam!! This was RIDICULOUS!!! She swore the email went through to me and maybe i didn't see it, it what she was insinuating? I told her I had a lot of other things to do than to be calling and stopping in to my eye dr!! What in God's name?! We will see what happens this afternoon at 1:00 PM when she told me it would be ready for me to pick up. So... after all this, which could have been resolved the first go around on Tuesday, has led me to write up this review and they've lost not only me as a patient but two others that go there. Absurdity at it's finest! PS - Where I go to get my contacts (Costco), the optometrist there told me they get this ALL the time from Thames. That Thames doesn't understand why the don't sign the prescriptions... perhaps they don't wan their business going to places like Costco? Who knows... all I can think of.

I am constantly making my appointments and not getting in until at least an hour after the scheduled time. When I decide to wait to show up, I get a phone call from their office telling me that I'm "late" for my appointment. I went here on a recommendation of someone, but there are doctors that are just as good in the area, that won't keep you waiting.

I posted my complaint with the BBB of CT and I'm awaiting a response from dr.Falck's office. Based on my family member's negative experience with cataract surgery with dr. Falck, I would NEVER seek an appointment with this doctor. They claim I had an appointment on November 28, 2025 -day after Thanksgiving. Who would ever make an appointment for a day after Thanksgiving? Aside from the fact that I've spent every Thanksgiving in Europe with my family in the past 5 years. It's a disgrace that dr. Falck's office is trying to make money on fake "no show appointments". Is it because they can't make money in a legitimate way? I come from a family of doctors: father, mother, grandfather - and I have great respect for the profession. That's why it really offends me so deeply that a doctor could act in such a dishonorable way. Future potential patients... just be very careful that this is the doctor you want to deal with. I am confident in her assessment of my child's vision and subsequent need for glasses. Cons: I have yet to be seen at my actual appointment time. She is only available in Mystic on certain days and, although I am always on time for my appointments, I still end up waiting no less than an additional 15+ minutes to be seen. This is problematic when you have antsy children. There was another parent there one time with her Autistic child. Because the Dr was running behind, this other mother and child also had to wait to be seen and in that extra time, that mother really struggled with her child. Every minute counts, even with children who don't have extra challenges.
