Stopped receiving almost all channels. They told me to replace my cable card which I did. Still failed after several hours on with optimum, they told me I need another cable card. Went to get one, went to 3 locations nobody had them. Finally they said I need a technician sent, he told me within 1 minute cable cards are no longer supported in my area. Now trying to get credit for my lost service and shut off TV and phone service is useless they tell me I need to do that in a optimum store. Frustration! read more

Warning they are spamming people right now. Called to get another box for my house . They told me if I switched out my equipment for alltice equipment I would have the exact same service, no increase in payment and same channels and $100 gift card. They changed it out but did not have all my channels was missing HBO. When I called they said they can fix it but I would no longer be eligible for $100 gift card. They said would have a supervisor call me in up to 4 business days. We'll see. read more

Nothing short of a nightmare. If you have the option to go with another provider do it. Terrible/incompetent customer service. Have lost 3 weeks trying to deal with them only to constantly be sent in loops. Average hold/call back times of 4-5 hours sometimes as long as 7/8 hours. Had unexplained price hikes and simultaneeously have continously had channels removed also without explanation. Am paying for a higher tiered package with 400/mbps internet speed but have never once had anything close to that speed and suspect they've been throttling the internet speeds. Before moving to this area I had Fios and had zero issues. Now I live in an area where this is the only option and I can not stress enough how awful it is. Second time my Internet is down this week. I'm told I have to wait SIX days to have it repaired! Consequently, my work is shot, as I rely upon my Internet for that. My phone service relies up on the Internet too, and I've already been unable to conduct several critical calls. To say that choosing Optimum Online as my service provider has been a costly mistake is a gross understatement. I will be switching service permanently. Never returning to Optimum. read more

I just called Optimum about the constant robo / spam telephone calls we receive. They suggested that I look into using a third party service to block these calls. After some searching I found that the US government passed specific regulations last year to allow companies to block these calls but apparently Optimum isn't willing to pay for this service. Optimum/Cablevision should get less than 0 stars. But I cannot post without giving at least 1 star unfortunately. Before I start this review... Optimum/Cablevision executives have you even read any review?!. They are horrible and you should be jumping into action. I ordered new service Thursday 8/15 and it was installed Friday 8/16 but the service and equipment that was installed was wrong. I was told by the technician that I can call within 30 days and they will come back out to correct the mistake without change. So I called the very next day and was given the runaround for 60 minutes between Sales, Billing and Customer Service each telling me that I would be charged if they came back to correct it and that the other is the only one that can credit me the installation fee. Even the Supervisors are no help. This company hides behind an incompetent call center that either cannot solve any problems or does not know how to solve any problem. They should invest in empowering their supervisors to take the responsibility and accountability to help the customer instead of apologizing for the mistake and doing nothing more. It is an $80 charge that a multi million dollar company cannot waive for their mistake. As I sit here writing this I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back. Cablevision/Optimum. Been a customer for 13 years. Recently called to downgrade services. Worked with Customer Service and after changes was instructed to pay reduced amount instead of full invoice, which I did. Next month charged same amount, no changes had been made, service up for disconnection due to only partial payment. When I finally got back thru to Customer Service, I was told by representative Augustine that I "needed to be responsible and pay my bills and that I was the problem because I didn't pay my bill." Unfortunately we have no other service in our area, otherwise would have dropped Optimum on the spot. Just waiting for wireless to put them out of business. read more

Noticed that they are now charging an Network Enhancement fee for my internet. This fee is to upgrade their infrastructure. Definitely a scam and shady practice by Cablevision/Optimum online as this should be incorporated into the monthly service plan and not as an additional fee. read more

I will break this review up into 2 parts - first, Cablevision as a company and then I will be reviewing this specific "store" (as Cablevision calls them). As a company, I kind of have mixed feelings about Cablevision. Sometimes my internet goes in and out, sometimes I can't watch anything "On Demand" for whatever reason, but for the most part, they are pretty consistent with the service. Unfortunately for me (where I live), I can only use Cablevision. I absolutely hate the fact that Cablevision does not carry the NFL Network and you can not get the NFL Sunday ticket. I would gladly pay extra for both of those services but no dice. Then, there was also the time when Cablevision and Fox were in a dispute and I had to go without Fox right in the middle of the NFL season. I won't put the blame on either side because I don't know the specifics, but I do know that, I, the customer was the one who suffered. That stunk - whatever...but, I do think they are a pretty good company. I needed to exchange my cable box because I had one for about 4 years and it just wasn't working properly. I was told that I can just take it to one of the stores instead of waiting for it to be shipped to me. My wife and I took a drive up to this particular location on a Saturday and the experience was honestly great. For some reason, I kind of thought it was going to be like going to the DMV but it was actually a nice, pleasant experience. The woman who helped us out (don't know her name) couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. We even were able to adjust some services around to our benefit. I was very impressed with how well the trip went. And, it was incredibly easy to trade our box. If you are a Cablevision customer and ever need to go to one of their stores, I would definitely recommend this location. They were helpful, efficient and friendly - not much more that you can ask for. read more

Cablevision/Optimum is the WORST company ever. I returned equipment in person and disconnected on Apri 22, 2019. They are trying to charge me for the month of April 21-May 21, 2019 ($179) because they say that the billing period is started on the 21st and so the soonest they can interrupt service is after the next billing cycle after May 22. I called the company and the IDIOTIC girl on the phone insisted that she cannot do anything because the equipment is no longer in my possession and I need to return to the store and have them deal with it. I was already at the store ONCE on April 22 and thought this was dealt with. Why should I go back? They are wasting my time. I am a very busy person and my time is precious. My advice to all of you is stay away from Optimum. Horrible company with horrible horrible horrible customer service. They are trying to steal my money!!! read more

A cablevision "sales person" showed up at my parents door to get them to change their phone service to cablevision. He was told no, they like Verizon. He left and proceeded to change their service without their permission. My 86 year old father called Cablevision and was told they would cancel the order. They have not changed it back to Verizon and my 86 and 85 year old parents have been without a phone for over a week. I consider this Elder abuse-the salesman thought he could pull something on an older couple. I would not recommend cablevision if they hire and allow sales people to take advantage of people. read more

switched to optimum altice. BIGGEST MISTAKE!!!! Had power outage Friday which burned out equipment. Called and they scheduled an appointment to bring new equipment Sunday. Waited all day, called and they said that they cancelled the work order. No phone call and of course a supervisors was not available to talk. Use Fios. If I could do this without a star I would! I have had another absolutely disgusting experience with the company as well as the Route 10 site. They are not in the least helpful and well practiced at being rude! I was told her name was Francis, she is the epitome of condescending and obnoxious. She spoke to someone else in the store, seemed to be a manager , who heard her side and just sat there ignoring the situation. I invested over 8 hours that day in trying to resolve a problem and driving to the site twice . They argued with me over a router. As a customer for over 25 years, they said I had a router and they could not give me another. I returned the optimum router and purchased my own over 10 years ago. They needed to confirm this and couldn't help me, I would have to call and put in a search for the missing router first. If I did they couldn't provide support on something they did not own. That is the mild version! I can only hope I could find another provider. My bill keeps going up as my service goes down. I CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO EVEN SPEAK TOO! When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told none were available as I was on the phone that time for over 1 hour. Chard kept telling me the supervisor would say the same thing he was saying and "after all he helped me and completed a form to search for the missing router." Really Cablevision? You deserve less that 1 Star. Called to terminate service. So called "customer service" person asks me why I didn't call to request a cheaper package before switching. I told her I looked at their website and all packages are for new customers. She replied that this is what their website is for. So they don't care about their existing customers until it's too late. AND to add insult to it all, they insisted that I could not cancel, my husband had to do it. Even though I verified the phone numbers, address, account number, and phone number. His name on the bill, he has to call. I was also told that if I returned the equipment to the store this still does not cancel the account. They will continue to bill us until he calls. Outages are becoming more frequent and as a result the service is less reliable. To the point where I have to consider a service change.

This is where I get my HD box and where I can switch boxes and get stuff. Pretty good service. They have a lot of HD channels but no NFL Channel. The guide can be a bit slow at times, and the picture sometimes get compressed, but the variety of channels is very good. read more

WORST CABLE PROVIDER OUT THERE!!! Cable and sound cuts in and out all the time. On demand service barely works and when it does, there are weird lines that go through it. Certain channels sometimes don't work. When you press info, the box freezes. Then you have to unplug it, plug back in, let the box reboot, and that doesn't mean it's gonna work. When people ask about Cablevision/Optimum of FaceBook, I tell them all the problems and the amount of people that agree with me are crazy. Horrible service. I have the Optimum Triple Play (phone, TV, internet). Signal is lost constantly. I'll be on the phone with someone, and all of a sudden he will no longer be able to hear my voice (I'll be able to hear him, but he can't hear me). Or I'll be playing Checkers on the Games channel and the game will suddenly freeze. My internet connection will drop out as well. This has been an ongoing problem for YEARS and I've had a different technician at my apartment at least 2 or 3 times, so they obviously can't or won't fix it. The higher the outside temperature, the worse it gets. read more

I just got off the phone with Optimum. This company has really gone downhill. We lived with dropped phone calls and intermittent internet service for years. Before switching providers we gave them one last shot to correct a problem that should've been corrected in 2009 .
