I brought in a pair of sunglasses that my dog got a hold of and bent the ear piece. I did a lot of research to find someone with great reviews, who could repair them. The glasses were my grandmothers so, they are of great sentimental value to me. Slava was great! He introduced himself and was friendly and professional. He explained the risks of trying to repair them and was careful with them. He successfully bent them back in place in under 5 minutes. They fit perfectly again! Because it was such a quick job, he didn't charge me. Optical Universe certainly has my business now. I'll definitely be back! read more

Tracy & Slava were so lovely, they helped me fix my glasses that was missing a nose pad, and gave me a complimentary pouch, as they saw me bring them out with no case. Then she they gave me a recommendation for my other glasses that needed to be soldered. Their shop is so cute, cozy and they have an amazing selection of frames, will definitely be back for some frames! read more

After buying eyeglasses for my son online, we ran into problems: the nose pieces kept falling off and the arms were too wide, so the glasses kept sliding off his face. He didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning them, so we just lived with it for a while. After we moved to the Tarzana area, I noticed Optical Universe was in the same parking lot as Pozi's, so my son and I stopped in. They were wonderful. The staff was kind and friendly, and best of all, they fixed his glasses. I'm so grateful we found them and would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

Wonderful, friendly people here. The nose piece of my glasses was broken, and he fixed it really nicely. Tightened the arms and even made them look shinier. Now they fit even better than before they were broken. So grateful I found this place! read more

If I could give 10+ stars I would!!! My husband and I were in search of a new optical place to get our favorite new sunglasses turned into prescription sunglasses and I was in search of new optical frames for myself. We found Optical Universe on Yelp and thought we'd check them out. From the minute we walked through the door, it was like optical heaven! We were immediately greeted by Slava and we became instant friends! He's such a character! So many designer glasses to choose from...but I'm a Gucci girl and what a selection of frames! Slava and his staff are very knowledgeable, trustworthy, kind, friendly and they know exactly what they are doing and exactly what you need and they make sure everything is 100% before you walk out the door! Our sunglasses came back perfectly! My 2 new Gucci frames are amazing and perfect too! You will not be disappointed and you'll make new friends too! This is the only optional place you will need in your life! Thank you Slava! read more

This is the best ever place to get glasses and sunglasses. I took in my prescription and Slava and Irene both immediately pulled out glass frames they thought would suit me and reviewed them all on me. They are ALL beautiful frames, you can't go wrong here. They are made in house, I have a strong prescription but the glass used in the frames is super thin. The service is so helpful and honestly I've never seen such beautiful choices. Couldn't reccommend them higher! I shall never go elsewhere. Not super cheap but what you wear on your face all the time is important to me! read more

Kind people, great service and selection of frames! They fixed a pair of glasses that were very bent without breaking them and didn't charge me. Highly recommend. read more

The best Eyewear shopping experience I've ever had. They have a great selection with brands other retailers don't carry... but the best part for me was the staff. Slava and Tracy were exceptionally friendly and patient, and Slava's expertise, insights, and sharp wit made the shopping experience enjoyable, and their prices were very reasonable. Highest recommendation! read more

What a fantastic find! Slava and his staff provide a level of service that is a rarity to find nowadays! They really stand behind their product and make sure the customer is 100% satisfied. Amazing! Slava is very nice and provides excellent services. I have been going to this place for years and love it!

Great store and selection of different designer lenses. The best part however, is the great customer service by Slava and his team. The entire store was very welcoming and friendly. They showed me and I tried on close to 20 lenses before choosing the perfect one. I have a new favorite optic store and will visit them again very soon! read more

Updated review after my first purchase: I am so grateful and happyyyy!!! I have been struggling a lot after sceral buckle surgery this year, and Optical Universe has been such a life saver. I have a complicated prescription, a narrow bridge, and love square frames. Slava, Tracey, and the team hooked me up with top of the line lenses with all the coatings I needed to make my eyes comfortable, and it was a lot. I was very needy, lol. Not to mention, the lenses sit in THE CUTEST frames around! They suit me so well, and I know I will be wearing them for a very long time. I trust them so much and will definitely be going back to them for my future optical needs. :) read more

I purchased some sunglasses online and when they arrived, the legs needed to be adjusted to sit level on my face. I called Optical Universe to see if they could help with the adjustment. I was told to bring them in. When I arrived everyone there was about as nice a person as you could be. They fixed my glasses right up in about 2 minutes. I tried to pay them and they wouldn't let me. I'll certainly be back when it's time to purchase new glasses. read more

I came in a few weeks ago needing a pair of glasses for my up coming wedding and I had a frame in mind by Oliver peoples. At the time I had ordered directly though the their website but they were giving me a hassle with my prescription. So for me getting these glasses in time was important. I came across optical universe on Yelp and it wasn't too far from my place. I met Slava and it was a pleasure getting to know him, he was able to help me find the frame that was similar to what I had in mind. Not only that his pricing was very reasonable for frames and lenses in comparison to what I was going to pay through Oliver Peoples. Slava also gave me a timeframe knowing it would be ready before my big day! I couldn't have been more happier with the outcome. Thanks again! read more

I bought a pair of Celine sunglasses online but when they arrived they were stretched out from too many people trying them on. I searched on Yelp and found Optical Universe just 6 minutes away from my house. All of the popular designer brands, including Celine! I will definitely be back. Thank you Optical Universe!! read more

Amazing experience! the owner is so sweet and helpful! very knowledgeable about frames and fit! highly reccomend!

I had been going to a popular eyeglass place for years because they had same-day prescription pickup. However, my last two pairs of glasses got weird spots on them within months. I took them to the place and they just shrugged it off. So I found Optical Universe online, and saw all these great reviews. They are local, so I figured I'd give them a try. Just picked up my new lenses and they're perfect. The man who took care of me said the spots were from an inferior quality coating, and that with their product, it's guaranteed for two years. I didn't have to leave my glasses -- they made the lenses and then had me come by to swap them out. Very pleased and will be coming back for all optical needs! read more

The owner Slava was very honest, helpful, and he was able to find the original lenses to replace on my old IC Berlin model. While I was dropping my sunglasses off I also brought in a different pair of IC Berlin frames that had been warped to get an opinion if it was fixable and he fixed them within a minute and didn't charge me either... He found my lenses for my sunglasses and had them shipped from Germany and they arrived as promised (within 2 weeks). Overall, great experience and I would recommend anyone who cares about good lenses to come here. read more
