Grossest burger I've ever eaten. We went to the Coliseum and were desperate for food and a bathroom. Stupid expensive for terrible food. 70 euros for 3 burgers 2 Pepsi's and a spritz. Literally 6 euros per Pepsi. Burgers tasted cooked off a skillet. Garbage garbage place. Staff is rude as hell and I'm pretty sure they overcharged us for the Pepsi's because we were tourists. On a hill overlooking the Coliseum, the outdoor seating provides a spectacular vista. Unfortunately, by midafternoon when we arrived, our group of seven had no chance of sitting outdoors. All the tables were occupied. So, we were seated indoors in the back. Our waitress was terse at first but became more gregarious as she realized we were staying for more than one round of drinks and small plates. This caffe was our lunchtime stop while sightseeing in the fine city of Rome. We stopped in when it was pretty busy. Fortunately, we were able to get seated in a short amount of time, outdoors, with a nice view of the Colosseum. I decided on chicken and "potatoes," while my girlfriend ordered a steak. I also ordered a "mozzarella and funghi" pizza. The chicken was nice, juicy, and tasty. The "potatoes" were actually fries, which were nicely prepped. My girlfriend liked her steak, and the pizza was the perfect complement to our plates. She had a mixed drink, while I had a cappuccino. The food was decent, but what stuck out the most about this place is the beautiful backdrop that includes the Roman Colosseum. The service was alright. It was very busy that day, so it was understandable that it took a little longer for the waitress to check in on us. We had an overall comfortable lunch here, and we're thankful that this place was open during Eastern, a time when most places are closed in Italy. read more

Our tour guide recommended the spot to us as it was right next to the Colosseum. Quite a busy spot with lots to choose from on the menu. Our waiter was nice. Everyone seem to enjoy their meal, and there was no real complaints. It certainly wasn't the best meal we had on the trip, but it was a nice lunch. I would not go to eat here. The view is great (overlooks the colosseum) but everything else is sub-par. Easily sub-par, I'm being generous. Ideally, you go here on a day that isn't too hot, sit outside, and have a drink. The food is on par with fast food so I would definitely not go here specifically to eat. This cafe has the advantage of being right across from the Colosseum. Thus, they have gotten away with being terrible. Locals know this but tourists like us become their victims. My husband and I did not do our research and was just looking for some gelato to help us cool down from the Roman sun. Service was slow so we sat ourselves. Apparently our waitress did not like this. And after 15 minutes, told us we had to go to a smaller table. And so we did, after we bought the cafe's gelato. An amazing location with absolutely delicious food. We had pizzas& French Fries , all tasted good and portions were more than enough. Absolutely a greay price taking the location into consideration. Great service and many thanksto ILVIA who was friendly, welcoming & super nice which made our experience a joyful one. Walked out cause it took them so long to come to the table. They moved us to a smaller table even though there were no small tables for 2 then the hostess took my husbands beer from him. Said she'd put it in a glass and bring it to us but she never did. The grilled chicken was barely edible because it was so dry. At the end we asked to split the bill and our waiter told us that would take too much time. She was clearly very annoyed when I stopped her and said my girlfriend wanted to order food too and was pressing us both to get the same thing. When paying, she placed the device on the table in front of me, gestured to the device, and asked how we'd like our receipt. I hit "no receipt" to which she again was very annoyed and shocked and asked me why I touched the device. The food itself was very mediocre. The brunch special does consist of a lot of food, however I was very dissatisfied as it was just Italian bacon, an egg, toast, and some small pancakes. Despite the amazing view of the colosseum, I would not recommend coming here. Of the many restaurants we visited on our trip, this was the worst food and worst service. Food was good, the service was nice and quick. They do have a 2 euro per person charge for being seated and they do not offer any food To go. The ambiance was a bit odd with a lot of lights inside, it looked like a night club. We sat outside with a view of the colosseum. They only had one working bathroom for both men and women. It started pouring rain while we were eating and had people coming up to us none stop trying to get us to buy ponchos. The staff did nothing to try and get these people to leave the costumers alone. Appetizer rate 5/10 Ordered 3 different items and they were all harsh we asked questions about the appetizers the "Ham and mozzarella" she recommended it but failed to mention it was raw meat. The dish had a big chunk of mozzarella with the pieces of ham around it (As pictured). The ham was salty but over all it was ok. Pizza rate 5/10 My partner ordered a pizza with ham as a topping. The pizza was not pre cut and very difficult to cut since the ham was long pieces almost like bacon that is not cooked completely (pictured) Cannelloni 6/10 I ordered spinach and ricotta cannelloni. Great location right across the street from the coliseum, they do have really cute outdoor space but waiting for a table was not an option for us. We decided to go inside and still got the great views as all walls facing the coliseum are glass. Loved they had my ginger tea, the salami and cheese sandwich I had really hit the spot, lol, it was really good. Staff was friendly and sweet while at points we had language barriers but with a smile and patience we made it happen and had a fantastic experience. Wine was really good as well. read more

Eventhough he wasn't going to eat and even though we had already bought him an icecream in the same restaurant. We left after not being served water which I had ordered 30 minutes prior and reminded the server twice. And no food had been brought. They went after us demanding we pay for a drink they had made which we never got served but somehow it was sitting in the bar ready for the server to bring to us. You can do as you please and money is not the issue. But if you keep up the horrible customer service, your business will fail. read more
