First, the food is great value for the money. But quality is another question. Got the Chicken Chow Fun special and it was super greasy and drenched in dark soy sauce. The rice noodles weren't even pulled apart and in giant clumps. Food is 2 stars, but the price gets it the extra star. read more

Back in the day, ORK was great cheap college kid food with great seating, great portions, and a darker ambiance that felt like you were out on the town at night. I'm disappointed that it is now increasingly expensive for what the food is, mid but filling fried rice meals with very little protein. I would have given them a 4 back in the day and a 3 nowadays. However, they get a 1 star because they never paid my organization its fundraiser money and ghosted them regarding it. It's one thing to be mid but it's another to be unprofessional and unethical! Got the Thai tea with boba, spam fried rice, crab wontons, and the pork belly sliders. All were pretty great with only the note that I wish the cucumbers in the pork belly sliders were cut thinner and maybe a bit more sauce since it's a little dry. We went there before noon and only had a couple of people before us. There's one line where you make your order, pay, take the number given to you for your table, so your food can be brought to you, and sit down. The young lady taking our order was friendly and efficient. I also appreciate that they have a tap and pay machine. The prices were inexpensive, especially in today's economy. I appreciate that prices are affordable for everyone, especially for the college students. Here's what we ordered: 1-$7.00-Beef Chow Fun 1-$5.00(?) Salt & Pepper Calamari (without jalapeños) 1-$2.50-Thai iced tea 1-$2.50-Original Black Tea Boba -The beef chow fun was a little oilier than what I'm used to, but it was flavorful and pretty good. -I enjoyed the calamari, but my family member thought it was a little too salty. -The Thai iced tea was tasty and on point. -The original black tea boba drink was thirst quenching. Super cute and quaint spot in Davis! I'm a huge fan of the affordability- I got a boba and pork belly fried rice for only $11. Fried rice was crispy and had a hefty portion, and boba was pretty standard. It's pretty loud in the restaurant, so it was sometimes hard to hear the staff. Come here several times before it's a great place to come and grab food and appetizers when you wanna have beer. They have great quantity for the price that you pay. It's great deals for the whole menu. When you come in there, you greeted right away and the cashier is usually super Duper nice. It's an open concept with tables and chairs. There's always music playing in the background when you place an order they're usually really busy. You can wait anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes which still isn't too bad. I have been to open rice kitchen multiple times, and I would say most of the food is decent, but when it comes to the black pepper udon, they blow it out of the water. Sadly I am no longer a college student, and while the kim chi fried rice worked, it was definitely not the most exciting thing I'd ever had.
