I had been hearing Opps Steam Cleanings ad for a long time on the radio and liked the idea that its one price and they dont hike it up once they arrive. Well dont believe that...we called them to do the three room special and of coarse...once they get there its a completely different story. No...we dont have any animals that stained the carpet...in fact there were no stains at all. We just wanted to do some spring cleaning and have the carpets fresh. I had a noon appointment and the guys called before they came out to let me know they were on their way. They were on time for my appointment and were professional and polite. After looking at the work I wanted done, the final price came to $226.00 pre-tax. The pricing was calculated as 6 rooms at $40.00 a room, 10 linear feet of hallway at $1.00 a foot and a $30.00 discount for their "4 area special". After agreeing to $244.65 (after tax), they began by spraying the carpet with a pre-cleaning solution. They then worked from the upstairs to the downstairs and finished relatively quick. I did not expect my carpet to look like brand new, but it was cleaned to my satisfaction. I didn't give five stars simply based on price. I thought they were a little high. I wish I had read the review here before I had them clean my carpet. I feel like I was robbed for what they charge and the job is not superior to other that I have paid half for. I overheard the guys and one tells the other " Yeah this never gets old" After they left I thought about that comment and wonder what they were talking about, charging way to high for a mediocre job is my bet. At no time did he pressure me for additional services...I didn't need anything but cleaning. 15 year old carpet and he made it look brand new. I was delighted with everything. I am very discouraged with our experience with Oops. They advertise $130 for 4 rooms. After they walked through the house the quote went to $400. We also got the urine in every room spiel, our living room was going to be double charged cause it is larger than a bedroom, closets were going to be extra...blah, blah, blah!! We asked them how much it would cost just to have it steam cleaned without treating the spots. They refused to do it! They did not seem willing to try to come up with a solution to work with us. We sent them on their way. I called them to tell them of my disappointment. I spoke with Jessica who said she would get back to me after she spoke with the Technician. I have not heard hide nor hare from her. After reading some of the reviews here YELP I feel like we have dodged a bullet! I really enjoy their commercials on 740 and they are endorsed by Michael Berry. I have a lot of respect for Michael Berry's opinion, but I'm sure they give him the royal treatment because of his status in our city. Really, really disappointed! Not impressed. I needed the carpeted areas in my residence cleaned after a couple of months of self-imposed quarantine. The crew of two arrived and quickly ran to the second floor with tape measure in hand to provide the exact price "quote." Immediately the lead crewman asked if I had dogs (he heard them barking in from a closed ground floor room). As soon as I confirmed that fact the bulb over his head was illuminanted and the up-sell began to treat 3 "urine stains" that were found. I consented to move the process along to get them in and out. The smug junior crewman, previously leaning on the banister, was ordered to begin dragging dirty hoses into the house and the process began. In short order the carpeted areas were "cleaned" and in about 30 minutes the process was completed. As the hoses were removed I noticed the used bilge water was being discharged from their holding tank in the service van onto my driveway. I could not stop the process as I was on a telephone conference at the time. After they pulled away I inspected the water discharge area and picked up a few used cigarette butts ostensibly picked up from someone else's residence. Yuck. The uncarpeted areas of the stairwell was left uncleaned of the dirt and debris on the treads and risers from the spray and discharge from the cleaning. It was as "wham, bam, thank you Ma'am" as it could be. The actual price was approximately $80 give or take from the telephone quote. Note that the only areas cleaned are the foot traffic areas in the room substantially cutting down on the square foot area they claim to clean. In short, they do not move furniture (if they do, I was not asked). I understand that these crews work hard and cannot provide an exact "white glove" treatment but perhaps spending a little money on a protection tarp for the foyer area where the water and discharge hoses are dragged in would make it so much more professional. No one likes to believe they are being taken advantage of and when the starry eyed young junior crewman sees the elder salesman/tech "close the deal" with fraudulent up-sells, etc. it sets bad precedent. Two stars for showing up and "cleaning" the carpet. I most likely will not be using again. read more

I am a repeat customer and would have given them a 5-star review last time. Unfortunately that consistency is not there. Had two rooms cleaned. One room housed a large dog and we knew the wear and tear, body oils and at times body fluids would be a problem. However, the smell was so bad after they treated it (3 times and MUCH worse than before they treated it) that I gave up and had the carpet ripped out and will need to be replaced. I guess I am most frustrated by the fact that they are the experts and could have warned me that it is "hit or miss" in their experience with this type of situation and I would have gone in eyes wide open. read more

I made an appointment a few weeks ago to have Oops steam clean come out to my beach home after hearing an ad on the radio. They were very accommodating to the date and time as i am not at the beach home full time. They called 30 minutes ahead of time, and were there within the appointment window. Shaun arrived and was extremely friendly and professional. i walked him around the home as he tested all of the stains on the floor for pet stains. he told me about the protectant that they apply and explained the entire process. This is the second time i have had them come out to the beach home. This time the carpet was very stained. i was not sure they would be able to get it out. A few years ago, i used their competitor, and they were not able to get the walking path stains out and i was so disappointed. Last year, i called Oops and they got the stains out. We rent out our home for vacation rentals and this year was extremely messy. Shaun said he would do his best, and my goodness did he. the carpet looks amazing. i cannot believe it. the home smells so fresh. i honestly, thought i was going to have to replace the carpet, but Oops got out the stains and makes the carpet look amazing. I am going to have him come out after the busy summer rental season to steam clean the tile and grout. I highly recommend Oops steam clean. read more

We used Oops steam to clean a 2 bedroom apartment with a few stain on it, they charged us $470.86, and they didn't removed the stains from the bedroom...in general they are not the carpet cleaner that you want to clean your carpet and they over charge us. My advice find a company that will do their job good and the price is reasonable. I will never use Oops steam company ever. read more

What a joke. From the time they arrived till the time they left my driveway was about 30 minutes. They came in and literally cleaned around everything. The tech told me they don't move furniture because they don't want to damage the furniture. He told me that when I made the appointment they told me that on the phone. I told him that they did not tell me that up front and he actually argued the point with me as if I were lying! I called the main office and the lady I spoke with said oh they don't move furniture because they don't want to damage the carpet!! Then she said oh well for an extra charge they could move the furniture!! REALLY??? After paying almost $400 for 3 small rooms and a hallway? I had to literally move all the furniture myself, then the tech acted as if It were a huge problem to bring his equipment back in and half ass cleaned under it. What a mistake! I will never call or recommend them to anyone! Sears does an excellent job at a fair price and they move anything you need moved and put coasters under it so no color transfers from furniture to carpet! Daahh! Admittedly, I only knew about this place because of their heavy advertising on talk radio that I listen to. I have a ton of tile in my house that was disgusting, so I thought why not give them a shot? I was more than impressed. The technician was clean-cut and professional and he was EARLY! Maybe AT&T or Comcast should hire whoever does Oops' scheduling so they can give you a precise time as opposed to a 8 hour window. But I digress. Anyway, their work was great, they got 10 years worth of grime off the tile and now it looks brand-new and the house smells wonderful. The price was a little steep, though i have no basis for comparison, but was worth every penny in my mind. I will definitely use these folks again next time i need my tile cleaned. And the Shirley-Q Liquors commercials on the radio are hilarious. read more

My floors look worse now than before these guys arrived! I needed 850 ft of tile steamed so the grout would be clean and the sealed, what I reviewed was water slopped in the floor the it air dried and sealant was applied to the grout (over the stains) outside of the line so now our tile is partially shiny... Trying to get someone to come back and inspect the job has been a futile attempt but they sure we're eager to schedule and could be there the next day! AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL! Clearly I should have read the reviews on Yelp but trusted Walton and Johnson (thanks a lot!) for the referral. My rug looks, feels, and smells worse than when it left my house. Terrible customer service. A manager never called us back despite our many attempts and assurances that "the manger will call you back" remarks. The girl on the phone "only works there" and could not give us information on our rug that had been there for 3 weeks. After numerous phone calls and 3 weeks of waiting they finally brought our rug back unfinished (clearly) and we still paid a portion of the price. Unfinished because they only had the time to do one side (after 3 weeks)... I assume the side smelling of alcohol that is not vacuumed and frayed. There are still stains underneath. Maybe if I had been willing to wait another 3 the entire rug might have been finished and decent looking but my guess is NOT LIKELY. I will now have to call another company and hope that they can help with this mess. Hopefully this will save someone from going through the same painful and frustrating process that we have been through with a big OOPS of a company. read more

I see a lot of negative posts about Opps but I'll tell you my experience was the best! Start to finish! I heard about this company listening to 740 & 950 also had friends experience as well. My house and carpet are 5 years old. I have a dog, cat teenager (with friends) and a husband who works a lot in the garage. My carpet and tile had been through the wringer! Hosting a big graduation party I needed my house looking it's best. Setting up the appointments were a breeze, very helpful staff told me what to expect. First visit was to get an estimate of the work. They explained what they were doing, prices and gave recommendations. Took some recommendations and refused others, no pressure or salesman gimmicks. I asked for a last minute estimate on micro fiber couch too. I knew when they went out the door what we were going to do. Cleaning day arrives and the guys were early. Explained all the services again to verify and they started. They were very time efficient but did not rush. Careful with our possessions. Professional and personable. When finishing the rooms asking me to inspect and were quick to remedy any over sights. I could not have been happier with the results. Carpet was fabulous and fresh. Couch was clean as can be, stains and dirt removed. My tile looks brand new. The only high price cleaning I had was the couch and considering results I'd do it again in a minute. I had oops steam at my house to clean 3 bed rooms, 2 stairs and large game room. I had a number of pet stains to be addressed. My total bill was right at $500. I was satisfied with the cleaning however that is where the problems start. 1. The price quote on the phone and the quote by the techs was very different. 2. The techs had problems getting their equipment working and had leaking hoses and had to do multiple repairs during the cleaning. 3. Their truck has leaked fuel all over my driveway. 4. I have called to talk about the problem and 48 hours later I have not received a call back regarding the problem. The girl that I spoke to in the office did not seem to care about my issue after the sale was completed and paid for. I am a huge Michael Berry fan and was really happy to do business with Opps Steam but this is not what I expected. read more

This is our first home and our first experience with a carpet cleaning service, so we don't have much frame of reference. The experience seemed pretty average though in terms of a service, nothing extraordinary. I chose this vendor because they are a sponsor of a radio show I like. The phone representative was nice enough. Not particularly friendly sounding, but not rude either, and he generally answered my questions. One thing I didn't like was that it sounded as if the representative was using a headset and taking calls from home. That's OK, but I personally think it sounds more professional for a business to handle calls from a landline telephone and not sound as if he/she is multi-tasking while taking the call. Again, he was not unfriendly though and he did answer all my questions. The workers arrived in their assigned window, which was fine. The initial quote was $140 for 3 rooms, and we knew that closets and one hallway would be extra, so I wasn't surprised that the total came to $200. We opted not to receive the "carpet protector" step that the workers offered after they arrived, which would have added another $94. The phone operator did not mention this in advance as an extra/option. The carpets were not bad to begin with, as the home in 6 years old and the prior owner had no pets. The steam cleaning did get them cleaner now though. Only thing is that the edges around the perimeter of each room are still dirty. I was not home and they told my fiancee there was nothing they can do about the edges of the room. I wouldn't rule out using them again if/when I needed to, but I might also call a few other vendors and compare next time. Like I said, I have not much frame of reference for carpet cleaning services. read more

I was really impressed with the service I received today from Oops. Ishmael was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and above all did not try to upsell me on the 3 rooms for $115 deal for which I was quoted when setting up my appointment. When he arrived, he took the time to assess each room for moisture and pet urine. He stated that although Oops recommends spot treatment of one of the urine stains he found under my desk, he was agreeable when I declined this option. He also assessed my microfiber couch, chair and ottoman and was very up front in saying they were in good shape and did not recommend cleaning at this time. He gave me a complete final quote (which included cleaning of 3 closets and 3 additional area rugs) and was off to work. The entire process took less than an hour and he even allowed me time to move around furniture as needed in order to clean under and behind along the walls where dust had accumulated. He finished it all off with a deodorizer spray on all carpets and rugs. Total cost was $204.59. I was very pleased with the results, and Ishmael in particular did a fantastic job. read more

I love Oops. I've been using them for about 6 years now. This is the only method of carpet cleaning that works. I have two beagles who are not potty trained. I always pay a bit extra and get the enzyme which really does make a big difference, trust me, I've tried it without that. Sometimes my apartment complex gives me a "freshen up" cleaning but just ends up smelling worse and leaves tons of soap in the carpet. I've recommended Oops to the company I work for also and they use them on jobs. They're awesome especially with pet stuff. ALSO, remind them to comb your carpet when they're done, sometimes they forget and it makes a HUGE difference on drying time. Techs are great very friendly. I also used another company that does the same method and did not like the people. Very unfriendly. read more

Terrible customer service! I can't believe the response I received when I called because they clearly missed spots on my carpet after charging me an additional $60 per room for pet treatment. I also had rooms with area rugs covering 90% of the room and they charged me $40 per room without saying they would not steam the area rugs. The lady argued that I should have known their policy regarding rugs and spot removal is not guaranteed. I spent almost $700 and no apology, no attempt to save me as a customer, just a flat out defensive tone and argumentative conversation. Will never use them again. The technicians acted like they hated their job and didn't once thank me for my business, just showed up and said what are we doing here today. I called Oops because I didn't trust the carpets of the house I was moving in to, and although I didn't plan on keeping the existing carpet for long, I wanted it clean for my family. The service tech's were friendly and professional, and completed the job quickly but definitely didn't rush it. Not only were they on time to begin, they called in advance and asked if it was ok for them to arrive and start the job a little early. AWESOME! I called these guys based on the reviews on Yelp to have them steam clean my carpets in the bedrooms and my kitchen table chairs. Note that we have been in our home less than a year and the carpets were cleaned when we first moved in. Also, the carpet in our master bedroom was newly installed when we moved in. No pets in the home, so they simply needed to clean for normal wear and tear of the carpet. While they showed up on time and were really nice, they quality of the work absolutely SUCKED!!!! My kitchen table chairs looked like they had never been cleaned at all. The carpet in my master bedroom (the reason I called them in the first place) did not get clean. (Did I mention the carpet was less than a year old?!?!). When I asked about the quality of the cleaning, the technician said to wait til it dried...which still didn't get better. I had to call them BACK in again to take a redo my chairs and the spots in the master bedroom which they should have cleaned right the first time. They did come back...which I commend them for that (hence the 2 stars). Customer service is great but work product is not. read more

Called Oops from a referral from a friend who has used them for carpet cleaning. I needed them to steam clean my tile floors. Once they arrived, I showed them the areas need to be cleaned and asked for an additional quote to clean my sectional, ottoman, 2 chairs and throw rug. Sticker shock! It came to $1100 but since I have never cleaned any of the areas or furniture I authorized the work. I was asked to supply towels for them to wipe their feet on when walking across my wood floors. I gave them 3. As they steam cleaned my tile, I noticed a lot of overspray hitting my wood floors, not good. They should have used MY towels to cover the thresholds of all the wood floors. Since my tile is textured, there were puddles left after the steaming which were not wiped up. These puddles were left to dry and as the tile was drying, a white film was becoming apparent on all the tile. This was their "pretreatment". They moved on to the furniture and did an excellent job cleaning that but proceeded to spray the oil based sealer on the furniture with the overspray falling onto the newly cleaned tile! After they left and the tile was dry, the weird grainy white film was all over the tile floor, all over my appliances and my bathroom cabinets. I mopped it but the film remained. I contacted the company via email and the technician that did the cleaning called to offer to come back to re-steam the floor. What choice do I have as I have tried to get the film up with various cleaners to no avail? I was told that the only way to get it up is to stem it again! Why in the world did they use any chemical to steam clean a floor is beyond me! We will see on Wednesday if the film will be removed or not. To me, the owner of this company should have had the _alls to pick up the phone and call me to try to rectify the situation, not push it off to his 25 year old "manager" to take care of. read more

We gave Oops a try because dirt free came out about 3 years ago and the pricing was suspect. Josh our technician was excellent. He walked the home and made sure any areas we were concerned about were addressed. He gave us a fair price for doing all the work that we required. Only 165 for 3 rooms and extra treatment in one due to pet issues. We paid a little extra for cleaning in one room because our dog does live here too. But there was nothing misleading and they did an excellent job. Our 13 year old carpet looks as good as ever. Thanks Josh. read more

I have used this company twice. We have used this company on a rent house we had. The first time they did an awesome job. The house was empty no furniture to move the carpet was in really bad shape and they made it look great and smell better. However, they charged us like $650 which is pretty steep in my opinion. So I called them out again because they were the lowest price on the phone with new carpet so I knew there wouldn't be any stains to clean just the regular cleaning. I was quoted $135 for four bedrooms plus an extra $40 if the master was over 250 ft.² plus tax. After I got my bill it was $246. I asked him why the big difference and I was told because stain guard was added. I never requested stain guard and I was never asked about stain guard. Also, my husband said he was never asked that question either but the technician said he did ask. Also, I was told the whole time he was there he was trying to upsell with different services and I realize that that's probably a common practice but it makes me Think that perhaps the stain guard was added just to add to our bill and pad the pocket. I would've never chosen this company had they told me upfront they were going to up charge me for something I didn't ask for plus closets which I was never given a choice about. When I called the manager to inquire about closets in the bedrooms being an extra charge, she said that most people don't want their closets clean and yes they are an extra charge. However, I was never told that initially or even given the chance to choose. If you decide to use this company because Michael Berry has such great commercials and a fan of his, be sure and ask lots of questions when you schedule it so that you won't get up charged. read more

Recently had my empty rental property containing only 3 bedrooms done. Was quoted $110 over the phone. Josh called to say he would arrive early. The first thing he did was try to upcharge me by saying the 3 closets inside the bedrooms would cost me more and if I wanted to add the stainguard for an additional $60. I have never had an upcharge for bedroom closets, and declined. He finished in about an hour. I inspected the carpet and asked if he could try once more to clean a small stain in one room and he said "Absolutely not." That was enough for me. I love the Michael Berry show and hear the ads for this company all day long, so thought I would try them, but not a fan now. read more

The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because of the price. They came out to clean a small 3 bedroom condo and I was replacing the carpet in one bedroom so they only cleaned 2 bed rooms which are very small. The upstairs has one large room which they considered two rooms, he said this is a living room and a dinning room. I thought really what about the micro bedrooms, do you consider those half rooms? I don't think so. The price came out to $443 bucks with pet treatment yes that's right. I would have put new carpet in if I wasn't in such a hurry. I had them out three times to clean my carpets, and every time they would come out the smell got worse. I had a supervisor come out to make sure the job was done. So I convinced my mother in law to use Oops Steam to clean 3 rooms in the house she just purchased in Katy. She cancelled the appointment she had with another cleaning company that already came out and gave her a $150 quote, and decided to use Oops. We decided to use their coupon for $130 for four rooms including stain remove pre-treat because the living room is oddly shaped and even though carpeted area is less than 250 sq ft, the area covered by the room and fireplace comes out to slightly over 250 sq ft. The technician was on time and very professional, Definitely a positive. Now for the negative: Technician comes in and states that the home smells like pet urine, proceeds to use a urine detection stick of some sort and says the carpets are all covered with urine and he has to pre-treat that with a urine eliminator at $60 per room. Total bill = $270 for 3 rooms. My biggest issue lies in the fact that the previous owner has been in the house for 4 years, then moved and didn't sell the house until almost 6 months later. She is allergic to dogs and cats and has never had any kind of pets. So even if the Previous-Previous owners had pets in the house, it would have been more than 4.5 years ago, and the carpets definitely did not look THAT old. Bottom line is, as professional as the guys was, and he did do a great job cleaning the carpet, beware of the mysterious imaginary pets roaming around your house. They may leave urine deposits in your carpets without you even being aware of said pet's existence. read more
