New owner and the quality has gone downhill dramatically. They went from a company I recommend to one I'm sorry to have worked with. If you need floors polished, they're fine, but I would recommend using anyone else for showers. The owner said everything was fine. I sent him photos and he sent the same person back. They couldn't do anything about mildew, so I cleaned the grout on the floor before they sealed it. Looks like they put black marks on the white tile on the walls while scrubbing, and they didn't clean the grout. Worst part, is it seems like they're trying to do a good job, but not able to achieve it. We we used them 6 years ago we were thrilled with the results, but stay away if you want tile and grout work. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!! I spent a thousand dollars $1000 to get all my bathrooms grouted and sealed. a couple months later the grout has completely failed. They gave an unreasonable excuse of house shifting??? This is a similar excuse seen in other reviews. They are scamming people and charging way too much for grout! I will be contacting my lawyer to see if I can recover my money from these scumbags!! BUYER BEWARE Update to Julie S. Comment: Julie S. Is lying, they didn't get back to me. I messaged them for over a week and they deliberately ignored me. They just want to collect your money and run. Very unprofessional in they way they handled the entire process. They made lame excuses for the bad grout job, didn't stand by their work, asked for more money, then ignored me when I asked questions and asked them to come back out to fix it. Here is the text message to prove it. read more

Happened to get lucky for a quick turnaround on a fairly small job, but am happy as result. Although I cannot be sure what will happen to the job over time, the initial results are impressive. Larger cracks no longer look like a large space with caulk, but look seamless. Julie was very helpful and the fellow doing the job answered all my questions. The fellow doing the job spent more time scraping and cleaning than actually caulking. But that makes sure the caulk stays put so that was very satisfactory. When caulking, the fellow made sure the caulk ran smoothly without lumps which I particularly like since I hate lumps - hard to clean. Conclusion - I would highly recommend Houston Groutsmith read more

Would never return phone calls. Very poor customer service. During the job, their equipment broke down, making them finish it by hand read more

New ownership does not recognize value of customer service. Refused job due to size and/or distance (40 min drive). Regardless that the original work was done by Groutsmith. Stated this type of customer service is the reason the previous owners went out of business! Covid hit and many small businesses had to close. Many other choices out there and had to share my experience. If I could, I would give them a score of ZERO. read more

Our shower was beginning to show its age with discolored tiles, loose or missing grout, and stains. I reached out to Houston Groutsmith via text and sent pictures of my shower dimensions for a shower grout restoration. Within the hour, I had a quote for the restoration. After getting other quotes, I decided to go with Houston Groutsmith and they came out a few days later. They arrived around 8 or so in the morning and the restoration was done by around 11 or so. They left me with instructions on when i could use the shower again. They left their work area spotless. Most importantly, the shower looks like new compared to its previous state. I'd definitely consider them for other grout-related projects and would recommend them to others due to their stellar and quick work. read more

WOW! WOW! WOW! I wish I had some pictures to share of how my shower looked BEFORE, and NOW! Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe how great my shower looks!! The technician, Chris, rocked it!!! No more icky brown goop, no more soap scum on my tile, and no more stuff on my glass shower door! It literally looks like a new shower! When Julie quoted me the price, I had a little sticker shock. But decided it had to be done, and I'd read their reviews, which were good, so I sucked it up and said, "let's do it". Chris showed up on time. He was super fast! And the job was excellent! If you've got caulk and crap breaking up around your tile, and goopy stuff that just won't come off no matter how hard you clean, call these guys! Seriously! Worth every penny!!!!! read more

Ruben, our Groutsmith, arrived on time to our house. He was professional, educational and informative regarding how to properly clean grout. Of course, the more he explained, helped my husband and I feel really good about calling the Groutsmith to do the job. . . . And an excellent job Ruben did. We even tipped him. Ruben cleaned our bathroom grout by hand. We will be calling again when we need this chore done again. We felt the price was fair due to Stanley Steemer quoting us over $800 and Groutsmith was half of that quote. How do I add the before and after pictures? Thank you, Carmen read more

We had a really great experience with Houston Groutsmith. The process to get a quote was easy and fast -- I sent pictures of the flooring and bathtub that I wanted work on and I received back a quote, a description of how the job would be completed, and detailed instructions for the before/after. Steven and Craig came out to our house right at 8:30 a.m. and had the job completed in less than two hours. Our tile floors and bathtub look great -- definitely should not have waited so long to get this done. I'd recommend Houston Groutsmith to anyone! read more

Julie And Craig were great with a caulk replace and seal job for the shower. Craig even came back to help some of the touch up work and made it easy to schedule. I would highly recommend them! read more

Houston Groutsmith - Main shower - Tiling Near Me - Houston, Texas

I would recommend this company for grout cleaning, but not grout and tile repair. We purchased a home and GroutSmith came out and cleaned all the tile and grout. They also repaired some grout that had cracked where tile was moving. This was in late October. Starting in about February that grout started cracking and the tile started to move, but this time it was worse. We called GroutSmith to come back out and they were going to charge us $450 and insisted the movement was due to the house shifting. I do not disagree that on pier and beam house shift, but there is no way in that short period of time it caused all that damage. I would have been happy to pay a trip fee for them to fix their work, but not $450. They do not stand by their work and this is the reason for my review. Update: There is no issue with my subfloor as Julie indicated. The house is a new build. The tile is simply large tile in high foot traffic space. It needed additional adhesive than what the builders put in. Their work should last longer than a few months and not get worse once they leave. If you own a pier and beam home in Houston, which is a lot of us...it seems GroutSmith will take your money, not fix your tile, and then blame it on your subfloor. Thanks for blaming my home Julie. Take ownership for your company and work. read more

I had to repair some old caulking around all of the bathtubs in the house as well as clean and repair the grout in the entry foyer, bathroom floors and master bath. Even though I've kept it clean time had eventually started to show in the wearing of the grout and not only did it need re-sealing but it needed to be cleaned as discoloration started to appear from stains in the grout itself. Houston Groutsmith came within a day of my request to run a quote and I scheduled them on the spot. They did an awesome job making all of my floors and shower look like new! Any caulking work also was done professionally without any mess. I was more than pleased and realized I now have a professional service I'm comfortable calling on when I need to refresh these items in my home...and to be honest I didn't want to kill a weekend finding the right products, color matching and doing the labor to make it look good. The service took no more than an hour and they were done! I hardly ever write reviews but I wanted to take the time to give these guys the recognition they deserve. read more

Craig and crew arrived right on time and were very pleasant. They took care to remove their shoes upon entering my home and left it immaculate. Craig ran into more than he expected while working on my shower but said it had to be done right, and I am very pleased with his work. I highly recommend Houston Groutsmith to freshen up your tile work rather than having everything re-tiled. The pricing was more than fair and the outcome was better than I expected. They went above and beyond. Call Houston Groutsmith before you think about having to re-tile your shower! I'm so glad I did. He also cleaned the floors and grout in my bathroom and I am very pleased with the result. I will be calling them again. Thank you!! Beautiful work. read more

Great work on sprucing up our shower floor. Even got a funky little spot around our tub. Showed up right on time.

Great experience. My grout look fabulous. After seeing their work we also had them go to a rental property we have. Julie and Craig went above and beyond by removing old caulk from my shower and replaced it making the shower look brand new. Quick response time. Highly recommend! read more

Houston Groutsmith was amazing! We had our foyer, dining area, kitchen, mudroom, half bath, and laundry room done (about 1,000 sq ft) and it made the whole house look brighter and cleaner! I was a little skeptical that the floor would look as amazing as the pictures but Julie promised we would be happy with the results, and she was so right. We are 1000% satisfied and we will definitely be using them for our other bathrooms (particularly the showers) and again in ten years when our warranty is up! They were able to give us an in-home estimate within 48 hours of calling and they were even able to squeeze us in the next week (after I procrastinated on making a decision for a few days). Julie was super nice and helpful for the estimating process and the guys that came to the work were extremely friendly and courteous. After we got the floors cleaned, I found out one of my friends that manages a few dozen properties also uses Houston Groutsmith for all of their grout work and they are always satisfied and use them exclusively. read more

Craig and Julie are the best! I noticed loose tiles and some cracked/discolored grout in my kitchen. Julie assessed the flooring and provided a very fair estimate for repairs. Craig and his crew then conducted the repairs quickly and my kitchen floor now looks brand new! We needed our floors/grout cleaned and sealed. They came out and did a fantastic job! I left the house for 4 hours, and came back and they literally look brand new! I liked how they took the time to make sure I liked the "color seal", and answered all of my questions. My husband and I got three other quotes that were wanting to charge us double the price we paid with The Groutsmith. Would highly recommend read more

I had recent porcelain tile floor installed but there were issues with the grout changing colors due to salts/ minerals in the foundation. They also sealed my master shower and colored/sealed grout, and repaired calk in another bath and it is a great improvement! Houston GroutSmith was suggested by my contractor. The entire staff was very professional and they scheduled and completed my job very fast! I will refer family and friends! read more

As others have reported, Craig and his team were very pleasant. My 3 stars stem from Groutsmith not completing the work. They were asked to fix a poor patching job in two holes in a travertine floor. The old filler was removed and the hole was filled with a white material. When I asked about the color, was told when Craig returned to finish other work, the holes would be filled with a filler that is the appropriate color. The day arrived and I had to leave earlier, when returned home, work not done. Notified Julie who reassured they would be out the following week. Well, that was a month ago. read more

They able to fix the problem with our tile floor quickly without tearing out any tiles. Great service and nice folks.

Took the time to discuss grout repairs in 3 of our showers. It was easy to schedule and they arrived on time. Workers were all friendly, explained what they would be doing and approximate time to complete. They cleaned up everything when they were done, and gave specific instructions on what to do post repair. The end product was better than we had expected. Will use them again if needed. read more
