We were hanging out at Little Woodrow's and got hungry, so we went to One Taco to get tacos! The food truck accepts credit cards, and has your food ready in a few minutes. They have breakfast tacos in the morning, as well as dinner and steak tacos in the afternoon and evening. I had the pork taco and steak taco, both were good. They are not too large, so if you are really hungry, I would suggest ordering at least 3 tacos. Even though the food truck is called one taco, you really need more than one taco. read more

The service here is great. I'm glad they're local, because I do love supporting local. However, I feel like you're paying more for the fancy shmancy wrapping than for an excellent taco. I got a taco filled with potato, egg, cheese and bacon. I went to One Taco when they first opened and really liked the food and the tacos were really large; not so anymore. The food was bland, but ok. The taco was pretty small. I was disappointed. I had really talked this place up to my friend and they were as let down as I was by the not so subtle difference in taco size and lack of flavor. Last night, I had the - TACO BANDERA $ 2.99 Corn Tortilla, Guacamole, Chicken and Pico de Gallo. I subbed cheese for the guacamole and picked out the tomatoes of the pico de gallo since I can't have tomatoes or avocado. I was thinking these moves might make this taco taste like nothing but I was pleasantly surprised! The chicken was plentiful and tasty, the green salsa was not very spicy but still good, and the corn tortillas were bendable, grilled and fresh tasting. I wouldn't go out of my way for this taco, but it was quick, convenient, and inexpensive when I needed some dinner. I'd recommend giving one of the corn tortilla options a try. read more

If you are at Woodrow's you must try this taco truck. My men David will hook you up. 3 days in Austin and I been to this place 3 -4 times a day. Wait time for your food is between 90 seconds and 3 minutes. Even on Super Bowl night, when Woodrow's was packed to capacity, it was no more than 3 minutes. Some of my favorites are Taco pastor, gringa, nacho libre. We are flying back tomorrow, but I think I am going to hit this place up one more time for their breakfast menu. Great street tacos! I had the Relax Taco (black beans, avocado, pico and cheese) and the Bandero (chicken, avocado, pico and cheese). The tortillas are so fresh and they are warmed up to a nice soft but slightly crispy level. Great for a light lunch and the patio seating shares space with the bar next store so you can get a nice beer with your tacos! The Nachos Libre are great, a little messy but very tasty! read more

Really loved the tacos from this food truck and I'm glad I waited to eat until I got here. So, like some might have already stated, this truck is parked in the Little Woodrow bar and is the sole source of food you can get without leaving the bar. Prices are reasonable and the tacos are normal in size but they taste great. The salsa was nice and fresh with a great kick to it. Following my previous review, I was contacted by the owner of One Taco, inviting me back for a taco on him if I were in the area, in an attempt to make things right. It took almost a year, but after showing the window worker the exchange on my phone, they delivered, and I selected a redux of my fried egg chorizo taco and added a roasted veggie taco. The fried egg chorizo taco fared better than before, with good chorizo filling in a small grind and a tender fried egg. The roasted veggie taco was a bit too heavy on the corn; I'd hoped for more peppers and onions. Still, these tacos were pretty enjoyable and I'll be back again on our next swing down Sixth Street. read more

Every day around lunch time when I scroll through my mental list of the culinary options for a hungry individual in the West 6th area of downtown, the list is annoyingly short. One Taco is always featured in that list, and once every couple weeks I will begrudgingly walk on down to their gentrified version of a taco trailer. Ten minutes later, I leave full but not thrilled. I really wish I could use my Jedi mind powers to make One Taco turn into One Hell of a Taco. But alas. That is not the case. Instead, I will eat breakfast tacos that aren't amazing, but aren't traumatically horrible. Yes, they're a little overpriced. In their defense, that is how this city seems to roll. Maybe it's how we stay on the "fittest cities in America" lists every year: no one can afford to eat entire meals at these prices, so we just nosh a little bit instead. Bottom line: fried egg breakfast tacos are fine to eat every so often. The small containers of green salsa and red, possibly chipotle salsa that get tucked in the bag are flavorful and suitable for smothering your tortillas in. I am thankful that you can build the taco from the tortilla up (black beans, refried beans, meats, cheeses, potatoes, three kinds of egg options, three tortilla options). Other tacos (what is that, lunch tacos? dinner tacos? I still don't know) are also not horrendous as long as you avoid anything with their overwhelming chipotle "One Taco" sauce. Please stop putting creamy, disturbingly mayonnaise-esque sauces on tacos, for the love of all that is holy. Would I eat here again? yes, but only because I work 3 blocks from here and there's no sign of any new, improved establishments opening their doors (or more likely their Airstream windows) in the near future. Don't make a trip downtown specifically for One Taco, but don't run screaming in the opposite direction either. read more

A little unassuming truck near a bar. Came here on google's recommendation, and it was well worth it. The three of us had 2 tacos apiece, and it was enough for each of us. All tasted great, packed plenty of punch in terms of spice and flavor. We took them to go, thinking we'll all mix up our orders, but the guy working the truck had a great way of labeling the bags without knowing our names. Kudos for that. I would say that I am a taco fanatic. I freaking love tacos. I've lived in south Texas, and I have been introduced to A LOT of freaking amazing tacos. We live in Texas for Christ sake! A state that used to be part of Mexico. I am a natural chief. I know how to blend flavors together and what flavors would make an exceptional dish. I have also acquired a palate for good food whether it's fine dining or not. With all this being said, I was not impressed at ALL. If I wanted lousy breakfast taco, then I could have just got breakfast at a high school cafeteria. What ever those were wrapped around the filling of the taco, those were not tortillas. "The Big Kahuna": 1.) The covering of my taco filling (definitely not real tortillas) was over cooked, and I could taste that nasty-been-on-the-stove-for-too-long-on-high-heat sensation in my mouth as I ate this taco. Honestly, I can go to H.E.B and pick up better tortillas (the tortillas that are freshly made every day). 2.) The "sausage" that was in the taco tasted like plain hot dogs that were fried. Come on bruh, we live in a dope ass barbecue land, please find better sausage to use. I am on bawling on a college budget, and I can find better sausage for a good price; henceforth, they can do the same. 3.) The egg in the taco was not fluffy. They need to do better. 4.) The taco, overall, was flavored poorly. Including the "verde salsa." It was not burst with mouth-watering flavors, it tasted slightly herbal , and I only tasted a spec of salt. --------------------------------------------------- Good Morning Taco: 1.) Again with the dreadful taco filling wrap. 2.) The black retried beans were watery, and they tasted like old, stale beans. ‍ 3.) The chorizo man.....‍‍‍ I'm in actual tears. I don't know if they intentionally put too much cumin (the seedlike fruit of cumin used as a spice), but this taco had too much. I love to used a lot of herbs, seasonings, and spice in my food as well, but I like to have a mixture of flavors not one hulk strong ass flavor. I feel queasy after eating these tacos, and my stomach feels disgusting. There are many great taco places in Austin. I truly can't believe this place is still in business. I went for my first time a few months ago and found a hair in my taco accompanied by a very mushy/old avocado. Taste was awful, not to mention it took so long to get it. Figured I'd give it another try (it's across the street) and went today.. had just as bad of an experience. Eh...this place was alright. The first place I've gone to from DDD that was less than exciting. Really, the steak taco is the best on the menu for sure. I ordered the chicken taco and the bandera. The chicken was pretty dry...and so were the tortillas. Really falling apart. We also ordered chips and guac. He brought us out salt packets because he had just made it and said it needed a little salt. This is the taco stand that replaced Texadelphia, which replaced Torchy's at the Little Woodrow's downtown. I grabbed the "ONE Chicken Taco" for lunch last week. The taco consists of a skimpy serving of diced chicken with melted cheese and their signature chipotle sauce in a flour tortilla for $2.50. It was the equivalent of a 99 cent taco from Taco Hell. Perhaps the price would be worth it if they included a veggie salad in their lunch tacos... at least some lettuce? I am curious to try their breakfast tacos and their avocado sauce, though. read more

After a fundraiser at Molotov, I made my way to Star Bar, which had a line outside and was way too crowded. I was losing my voice, and my friend was hungry so our group decided Woodrow's fit the bill. My friend ordered 2 egg and cheese tacos and said they were cheap and delicious. I ordered a steak taco and it was pretty tasty. However, at $2.99 it was overpriced. It was a small (3 bite) taco. Tacos of that size should be priced $1.15-$1.85. If I'm paying $3-$4 for a taco, a tiny street taco is just not going to cut it. It needs to be of Taco Deli or Torchy's caliber-big with complex and interesting flavors. Also, the girl working there didn't inspire a lot of confidence. We asked what her favorite taco was, and she said she didn't eat there. Hm. Here we have One Taco... trying to make a name for itself in the trailer happy Austin. Not only is it a small trailer in a large trailer park, but it's also attempting to replace a trailer legend. It was on that same spot that Torchy's Tacos rocked all of our worlds. One Taco is not Torchy's Tacos... so, get that out of your head as you stumble over. It won't be as good, it won't be as unique, it's not going to have the same KA-BOOM. One Taco serves up their own blend of tacos... and they aren't that bad. My chicken fajita taco was packed with cheese, which was an interesting twist. Wow. After my first taste today I'm pretty baffled by the low starrage happening on yelp. BWAH? BAFFLED. I had the Gowalla and the Barbacoa and I was pretty damn happy. That gowalla taco was so perfectly seasoned I totally forgot salsa existed. Don't need it. This thing was perfect. Barbacoa taco was typical of most barbacoa tacos I've had - tasty of course - but HELL y'all - that tortilla was STUFFED. Can't complain atall about that. I hear all y'all on the price point, buuuut they're about on par with what other fancier taco joints in town are charging for their goods. I spent $7 total on 2 tacos today, and that's after adding avocado to the barbacoa taco. The sides are where stuff adds up - their queso & guac sides are pricey. Totally. So skip 'em. Get what ya came for and quit bitching about the fluff. One wish: I do wish they had better salsa options. The green salsa isn't very spicy at all, and the red salsa looked like pureed chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. Probably was. Not my idea of salsa. But that's my only gripe. Stumbled upon this food truck while going on a walk down W 6th St in search of random places to get a quick to go lunch to bring back to the office. It was about 1:45pm at this point, so they were just about to close up for the afternoon. After ordering, my tacos came out in just a few minutes and the worker at the window as extremely polite and friendly. One Taco is a food truck nestled right next to Little Woodrow's and across the street from Star Bar. I did notice a few wooden outdoor tables in front if you decided to eat there. I can imagine this would be a great stop late at night after making your rounds at the bars on W 6th. Gotta have the late night munchies! I ordered the al pastor and steak taco which were wrapped in aluminum foil and put in a little paper bag for me along with napkins and 4 saucers of their salsa verde. Pretty standard sized tacos for the price. Both tacos were a win for me. The meat was nice and tender and extremely flavorful. My only complaint is that the tortilla did taste slightly buttery, which I personally don't mind. But for those out there who are more health conscious or just don't like the taste of butter, it's something to consider. Their salsa verde wasn't spicy but added just enough flavor to the tacos to tie everything together. Will most likely come back here with coworkers in the future since it's so close by! read more
