We would have been just fine splitting 1 between the 2 of us had we known. No complaints here. Everything was spot on taste-wise, and both of our plates came with a ton of fries (in addition to a decent portion of mushy peas). My other colleague ordered the pasta special of the day and wasn't necessarily thrilled with it, but maybe she just ordered the wrong thing? Ambiance was impeccable, a pure 10/10. The area has a ton of natural light and is super inviting. The decor is sophisticated and really adds to the overall 5 star feel. The location was super convenient for us. We were staying at the Clayton Hotel so we were just steps away. The restaurant is also conveniently located near a bus stop in case you are looking to visit and need public transport. We were hungry so we agreed The environment is dark and tasteful and lively The wine list is not good, but the food and the staff make up for everything The avocado and caprese salad was awesome The shrimp in wine sauce was off the charts delicious The chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto was delicious and the polenta and creamed corn were spectacular The monk fish wrapped in crispy pancetta on a bed of pesto basil was amazing To top it off we had the Nutella cheesecake with Carmel sauce and gelato with biscotti crumbs on top- this was surreal!!! Sweet merciful jesus it was one of the nicest things I've ever eaten. Thinking about it now makes me want to throw my laptop on the floor and sprint back for another taste. For main I ordered a pizza with caramelized onions, bbq dressing and pulled pork. Yes you might read pulled pork and say in a whiny voice 'oh wow pulled pork, how original', well it was. Just like you and everyone else, I've had my fair share of pulled pork over the last year but this stuff was beyond tasty. I'd almost ring them up and get them to change the menu to 'super special pulled pork' as it would be more apt. As you can probably tell by now I enjoyed the pizza a lot. I also thought it was a really nice touch that you could see the chef making the pizza from scratch and cooking it right in front of you. For busier times there's even a cool bar counter area right in front of the stone oven pizza with high stools where you can watch the dishes being created, almost like a live episode of Masterchef (but with better chefs and food). I've been there and I've been back and I'll go back again. This is what a real revolution looks like.

I had the special roasted sea bass which was pretty good, large portion, well presented with a large side of boiled new potatoes. While most of my companions opted for dessert I ordered the small (haha!) cheese board. Three cheeses, huge portion, loads of crackers etc I simply had to share it with my fellow diners. Epic! We started off with Veneto Sauvignon Blanc. It was a nice Italian wine. We ordered the marinated olives and focaccia. It was perfectly seasoned and the bread had the right amount of garlic and olive oil. Simply delicious. I had the ravioli which had just the right amount of cheese and incredible homemade red Italian sauce. So Devine...picture to follow. The icing on the cake included the best service from Lauro. He was such an attentive server, personable, thoughtful and gave us the best customer experience. He had a lovely Italian accent which helped with the full experience. On night two we had the Pappardelle. Another authentic Italian dinner with fish. Very tasty. We recommend this restaurant and ask for Lauro.

The sit-in part of Brother Hubbard is bright, relaxing, spacious with plenty of tables inside and there's a patio outside with plenty of tables as well. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent. Brother Hubbard is a gem of a breakfast and pastry spot! I appreciate the relaxing café environment with friendly staff and high-quality food. I know if I come back to Dublin, I'd come back to grab breakfast, or perhaps another Babka.

However, the brunch rush came afterwards and by the time I left, the entire place was filled. It's popular. And yes, it's the same spot Phil Rosenthal ate at. I even saw the owner who was featured on the show here, helping out with clearing tables and so forth. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and an iced chai latte. The food was good and actually, not as heavy as I anticipated. It came with an egg, sausage, bacon, beans and a pudding, which I had to look up. It's ground meat with oats and is molded into a patty. It didn't taste bad, so can see why it's served around these parts of the world. And the meal also came with another item I had to look up, colcannon bread, which was a potato bread with kale. And it was my favorite part of the breakfast! Delicious. If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Dublin, then I'm pretty sure you already know about Brother Hubbard, which is popular, all for good reason.
