What a wonderful surprise! Small menu with great options, good food portions, decent wine selection and attentive staff.. The fish pie was super tasty, as was the duck. And the Irish coffee was so absolutely delicious...and un-American!! if you're looking for an alternative to the 'trad' Irish fare definitely make your way here. Off the beaten path and upstairs but still central. Alice, our server, was great; but everyone else looked kewl, too.

This restaurant is popular with Dublin's artistic crowd as it is close the Abbey and the Gate theatres and it showcases different artists' work. Paintings decorate the large room and the whole style of the place is casual. Even the waiters are encouraged to express themselves freely, uniforms being banned and all. All the times I have been here, I have never been disappointed by the menu. There's always a fresh selection of fish and meat and the vegetarian appetizers are great. It can get pretty busy so don't chance it and make a reservation.

If you can find them open, pretty good place to stop for a meal. Great straight forward menu at reasonable prices. Outstanding service with friendly atmosphere, not stuffy or crowded. The restaurant is upstairs via a small door leading up.

Fresh Sea Bass special

This place is a bit hidden and quaint. Lovely spot for dinner after a long day. The waitress' and waiters' were great. All helping each other make sure each guest had a good time. The prawns with chili sauce appetizer was incredible. The sea bass special was fresh. The lamb rump was tender and delicious-- not to mention the sauce! Our main waiter was incredibly nice. We wanted to take the sea bass home (there was an entire half of the fish left), and it as a bit loud and he misunderstood us; not to mention I do not think taking food home is as normal here in Ireland as it is at home in America. It was so good we had to! Needless to say, we cleared it up and he happily surprised us with another half to take home. He didn't have to do that but it was very professional of them! Round of applause!

Minestrone soup and pork meatball sandwich

This is probably the finest dining you can get around this part of town (not hard I guess but people gots to eat around here too you know!!) Their lunch menu is reasonably enough priced I guess, about as high as I'd pay for lunch to be honest. I went for the sandwich and soup of the day at a tenner which is not bad business, the menu did rise to the mid and high teens if you are so inclined. But of course, as is often true you pay for what you get and what I got was delicious. Minestrone soup and pork meatball sandwich with goats cheese, rocket and a lovely onion marinade, it really was spot on and would definitely get me coming back. I drop the star as the decor is a little tired and the service was a touch on the brusque side for my taste.

Scallops, Pork Belly with cauliflower sauce and potatoes

Getting everything right is typically unexpected when eating out, but this is not your typical restaurant. The owners and staff execute that nearly impossible task of cooking and serving delicious food perfectly. My wife and daughter had the scallops and pork belly with cauliflower sauce and baked potatoes that had crispy seasoned skins, and I had the roasted duck with raspberry sauce, asparagus and cheese crisp baked potatoes. The pictures need no comment. It was as good as it looks. We had the house Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile. Incredible value and price for the wine. Balanced tannins, fragrant bouquet with concentrated berries and a smooth finish. For dessert, we shared the toffee chocolate ice cream cake, also unbelievably yummy. Best dinner of our trip to Ireland, Czech Republic and Belgium. Just wish the restaurant was in Southern California, as it would save us a lot of airfare.

The thing that makes this place good is everything the food the drink the DESERTS and the seating. I like the way it's not to noisy. Not to pricey. GO 101 TALBOT

Being stuck due to the volcano has allowed us to visit many restaurants while in Dublin. 101 Talbot Having very good ratings but few (4) reviews was a gamble. However we were not disappointed for the pork belly with barbeque and corn was very tasty. Pork belly wasn't too fatty but moist and braised well. Even more outstanding per my coworkers opinion was the Fillet Mignon with mashed potatoes and root vegetables. I didn't try it but it looked very tasty, see pictures. Per my other friend, the chicken was also very good although she was looking for it to be prepared a bit more healthy. In fact, the only reason I gave it 4 stars was the the concern that every dish had been sauced adding calories and had some sort of potato (more carbs) which displayed a lack of variety. But hell were in Ireland right? Overall we weren't disappointed with good flavors in each of the dishes. The service was good and the food prompt. The prices were very good for the quality and level of service and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.

What a beautiful event!…read more i've noticed events like this creep up in popularity around Dublin and isn't it a richer place for it. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's nights like this that instill in you a pride in being Irish, and a pride in our past, present and future. Honestly there were some parts that gave me goosebumps, the type I get every now and again when I'm wandering around the city and realise that after eight years away, I can honestly say there is no place in the world I would rather live right now. It's hard to decide what the highlight is. I won't go into massive detail as those before have, but allow me to point out the bones of what makes this into such a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday; - The setting. Old Georgian wooden stairs that are worn down in the middle by hundreds of years of stepping on them, the old crumbling cornicing, the candle lit old antique tables. - The food. Each course was a perfect size, and the perfect representation of modern x traditional Irish cuisine. Quality ingredients, beautifully presented - The talks in between courses by food historian Máirtín Mac Con Iomaire. Funny, informative, nostalgic, and funny again. If you didn't pick up on it already, I would highly recommend this as a night out. For any age, those who live here and are visiting, those who grew up here and those that are now making Ireland their home.

It's a wonderful way of enjoying some Irish history, poetry and music with delicious food. I knew we were in for an amazing night from Emily C's review but I was still totally blown away. Sure, the building itself is a little old and run down, but once we were seated and enjoying the food and wine, that didn't matter. Our host for the evening was awesome, lots of banter and amazing stories. It was really captivating and enjoyable hearing him speak, since and recite poems between courses. Everything was linked back to the food which was just as amazing - traditional Irish scran but served up a bit fancier than normal. Kind of like if your Mum went to a class to learn how to plate her Sunday meals in a nice way? I really enjoyed the food and only the main needed more sauce but they happily delivered us some. Yum. What a fabulous evening, this was a beautiful way to experience Dublin in all its glory.

The spot is located up a literal winding staircase that takes you into an inviting room that boasts a lovely view of the river below. We didn't go to the third floor, but I can imagine it was equally lovely. They've got an impressive wine list and a moderate beer list that's predominantly bottle. Interestingly they don't have spirits so the mixed drinks are wine cocktails - boss! I tried a white port and tonic drink - seriously next level! I don't often find wine cocktails and even more rarely are they really good! The menu is impressive and seasonal, save the potted crab and haddock, which are on all the time. It should be know for any who dine with our crew, that we share a lot, so everything we had was enjoyed by all 5 of us. The crab was unbelievable! Creamy, flavorful, magical. The beef cheek and fish plate were also perfect for sharing. We also had two scotch eggs - these could have a Klondike bar (look it up youngins!) like marketing campaign! We shared the Haddock and the Pigs on Green Port Tenderloin. Both were awesome, with the Haddock more memorable. We haven't had such delicious mashed fish since Iceland and the cheddar mash and onions were the perfect accoutrement! The chocolate fondant was delicious and the bread and butter bread pudding was life changing. The whiskey sauce is something I'd swim in if given the chance! It was lick the plate good. The service was spot on and we got out of there for about €50 a person, full and happy! The whole evening was excellent and this place definitely deserves the accolades. If you're in the area, you should check it out!

This is evident by the name drop of some producers in each dish. My family was able to try a scotch egg for the first time, some beef cheek, crab and a charcuterie board with meats from Cork. Our server walked us through this experience with ease and we all couldn't be happier with our time here, especially for a Sunday afternoon when it could have been a lot louder and chaotic.

After Covid, they switched from serving Irish food to Asian fusion which didn't make much money. So they switched back to Irish food and Michelin contacted them again! I didn't realize how much meat the Jamett's grill had. The lamb was absolutely delicious. The meatball was made of Wagyu beef, using either sauce was yummy. The two pieces of pork were ok. The lean part was a big tough. The sausages were a bit spicy, but pleasantly tasty. I wasn't able to finish the meat. The greens were a quarter of grilled cabbage topped with the sauce and pieces of ham. I personally thought the ham was unnecessary because the sauce itself was enough to flavor the cabbage. Gur Cake ice cream was the most surprising one. Some salt on the bottom, then a layer of chocolate custard, some corn flakes and a scope of cinnamon ice cream. It was a new thing for me since I never had anything like it. The waiter told me that it was the most ordered dessert. The restaurant setting is pleasant with two floors. I sat by the window watching the tour buses and people down there. The waiters were courteous and patient. One thing about the toilet for women, they provide free tampons and sanitary pads.

The ambience is trad Irish at bar with a very modern menu. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Roisin greeted us at the door and was super helpful making out choices for dinner. Though the patrons are packed in, the sound level was comfortable for conversation and tucked in the corner we had more room than most anyone else. The food was superb. There a Cajun influence to the chef's palate. The seafood chowder is a red chowder, a little spicy, and light. It's of course chock full of fish. The corn bread served with the soup is unique. I asked and the chef flavors the bread with Cajun spices. It's excellent. My wife chose the goats cheese salad. The pastry they held the salad and cheese was so delicate. Our entrees included the beef that melted in your mouth. It's served rare and it's totally tender. The sea bass was also excellent. It's served of the bone with mussels, brocholini in a curry based sauce. It was a very generous portion. The potatoes served with the dishes were great. My wife had a tawny port and I chose the cider-see pic. It was delicious and refreshing. We didn't enjoy dessert and so I can't comment. I highly recommend this place!
