    The breakfast menu

Stopped in for breakfast and ordered scrambled eggs on toast topped with a generous serving of salmon, plus a side salad. Very filling and accompanied by a very delicious flat white. The scrambled eggs on toast with salmon and side salad were a bit less than €10, so quite decently priced. I enjoyed a small table for 2 just at the top of the stairs. If you have a larger group, there are two more rooms with tables. Service is efficient. Great way to start the day of sight-seeing.

This a cool little Italian cafe close to the St. Stephen's Green side of Dawson street, just opposite the church and down a some stairs. It was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon, but they have a small number of seats in the back as well as a table outside albeit a bit cramped. I had coffee here which was a nice strong blend and only €2.20 which is pretty cheap for such good coffee compared to other coffee shops! The staff were Italian (I think!) and they were very friendly and welcoming, and the waitress explained the menu really nicely; the service was superb overall. They have a large variety of cakes, pastries and other desserts, but also paninis, soup and salads for lunch. Vegetarian options are available by the way. Overall, a trendy spot with some great coffee that also caters well to anyone with a sweet tooth!

Wow. If you are a cake lover, you need to check this place out. It's hidden away down in the basement level of a Dawson St place, but it's well worth checking out. It's tiny and cute and the staff clearly love their jobs and the product they sell. Onto that. There are so many cakes they'd send ya cross eyed. Pastries, tarts, cakes, cupcakes, and any other variation you can think of. Every single thing I've tasted so far has been amazing. And I've tasted a few things. They all have a homemade kind of touch to them, but look beautiful like little pieces of art at the same time. My only complaint is that there is too much choice! How is one to make such a big decision?!!

Small , unique and great deserts! A friend recommended Dolce Sicily and we decided to try it out and boy were we impressed. The desserts on display are very pleasing to the eye and obviously terrible for your waist. I ordered a latte and a cake with blood orange, very tasty and I will definitely go back. Note to self, go to Dolce Sicily for a quick bite and great coffee not for a long natter as it'll wreck your head.

Raspberry Cheesecake and Mini Strawberry Tart!

I considered not writing a review for this place in an attempt to keep it a secret but it's just too good not to share...This place is honestly one of the best cake places in Dublin! Located in the basement of the Design House on Dawson Street, you could easily walk by if you didn't know what you were looking for. The decor is bright and colourful and your tea is served in mis-matched china (a particular love of mine). If you ramble upstairs (which is where the bathroom is) you walk through some of the shops selling a mix of quirky pieces, definitely worth a look. I opted for a mini pistachio choux bun and a mini strawberry tart (I couldn't choose between the two so the 'mini' option was right up my street). Both were delicious and I would easily order either of them again. My friend got the raspberry cheesecake (after debating between that and the chocolate coconut crumb cake) and it was great too, she said it reminded her of those Petits Filous yogurts from her childhood, something she was delighted about! The cake menu is extensive and the specials on display and in the fridge really make the decision so much harder. The staff are great though and will happily help you make your decision (all of which I'm sure are delicious). We were lucky enough to get a table but the place was packed, both with people at tables and with take-away orders. I was tempted to get the Italian Hot Chocolate and after reading some other reviews I'm raging I didn't. Oh well, I'll just have to get myself back there ASAP to fix that!

The Italian Hot Chocolate in all its glory!

This is by far, the cosiest place I've been to near the city centre. Craving a cake? Get here stat and order one with the *Italian* Hot Chocolate. I had an amazing carrot cake with the aforementioned chocolate drink on the side and it was, as they say, a stairway to heaven. If you're feeling blue about the Dublin weather, stop by Sweet Sicily for a nice slice of cake and take a stroll nearby at St. Stephen's Green to burn it off. If I'm ever making someone a Dublin bucket list, this little restaurant will definitely get featured on it.

    Authentic, delicious, Italian

Best spot since a long time, I think all the Italians in Dublin were waiting for this place Beautiful, cosy little cafe. Amazing cakes, desserts and they also have a tiny savoury menu for a quick snack. I love everything about the place, the quality of food, the service, the personality, the location...it's perfect! Go and try it out!

    Nutella Ricotta Tart and cappuccino

Very tasty cakes and tarts. I always get Nutella Ricotta tart which is my favorite. Their cappuccino is so good too. I also tried sacher torte which was so good too

Went there with my friend Rawan, and we ended up picking two cakes each because we couldn't just choose one. The pistachio Nutella which was beyond amazing. It combined the two things I like the most, and the other was the Sicilian cake which was sent from heaven. I also ordered the hot chocolate which was divine, I think I gained 5 kg from that day alone but it was definitely worth it. I would definitely go there again, whenever, and if, I ever go back to Dublin I would go there again. For the food, for the company, and the staff were very friendly and inviting they were amazing.

Torta xxx Nonna (Pine nuts and custard)
    Petra B.

A lovely cosy cafe that makes you feel on holidays in the middle of Dublin. With the staff being Italian and lots of italian customers you definitely forget you're in an english speaking country. Obviously the fact that lots of italian people come here confirms that it's pretty authentical food. Very friendly and relaxed staff despite the fact that it was pretty crowded this sunny Sunday afternoon. I went for the pine nut and custard cake (called torta something nonna) which was sweet but not too sweet and the nuts gave it an interersting kick. I just wasn't convinced by the cappuccino I had hence only four stars.

Fantastic new Italian bakery & sandwich place ! It is so tiny that I am in two minds about telling you all how amazing it is as I can foresee a Q forming around the block (a few times). It is down in the basement of The Design House on Dawson Street just opposite St Anne's Church. It has two seats out side and three inside so very limited seating but of course you can get it to take away if you are not lucky enough to get a seat The Panini's are all traditional Italian fillings like Parma ham and mozzarella but really amazing quality ingredients as you can see from the photos. The pastries are really something else - two words Nutella Tart - and that's only the start of the lovely offerings ! They have all sorts of cakes and tarts and even fresh Italian Cannolis. The staff are really super friendly and passionate about the food and coffee so I really couldn't recommend it highly enough - just let me skip you in the Q !!

Beautiful, small place that gets packed very quickly. Interestingly enough I thought it was a French bistro, but I believe the owners hail from Ukraine as that is the country flag that was hung outside the shape if my world history learnings are correct. My husband didn't finish his fritters that have avocado on them bc he's not a fan of avocado. He forgot to ask that they be removed. His fault. Very nice young staff. I wish that we had discovered this restaurant sooner bc we would have eaten breakfast there again but we discovered it on our second to last day.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor.
