Toffoli = seriously tasty pizza. I met a friend for dinner here on Friday night and as some have mentioned, it is truly hidden in plain sight. It's a tiny little spot tucked one street away from the craziness of Dame St and Christ Church. Their menu consists of a number of pizzas and salads as well as a special pasta and main dish (which on Friday was some kind of fish). For drinks they have wine in the form of red, white or rose and charge €5 for a glass or €32 for a bottle. I assumed this pricing meant they had set house wines but when we ordered a bottle of red he brought out 5 bottles of Italian wine and let us pick! We decided to split the large "Roberto" pizza and a salad. The pizza was basically a margarita pizza with Parma ham and it was delicious. Thin, crispy crust and fresh toppings including a very generous amount of ham. Our salad was simple but very tasty as well. The owners of Toffoli take great pride in their restaurant and gave us excellent service. Will return!

Next door to the methadone clinic but with a markedly different clientele, Toffoli is a tardis-like establishment run by true gourmets. Carlos and Elaine have poured so much energy and love into this tiny upmarket delicatessen you can't help but feel it...and taste it. Sandwiches, salads, holy and delicious pizzas, an excellent wine list and tasty coffee - it's no wonder that Toffoli has a dedicated following. Ingredients are of the best quality and every dish is prepared from scratch in front of your very eyes. Eat in, or buy olives, ham, artichokes from the deli counter and feast in the gardens of Dublin Castle. A wonderful place for eaves-dropping over lunch, but best experienced by true epicureans during the mid-afternoon lull.

Bottega Toffoli is a hidden gem in Dublin city centre. As an Italian person I'm very demanding when it comes to food, so I'm pleased to recommend this small but cozy restaurant. Pasta selection is limited, but pizza and antipasti (I tried Innamorati) are very nice. Be prepared to wait and possibly share some starters as it might take time to get the main course, especially if it's the 5-6 of you. My only advice is to give a bit more visibility to the menu and the dishes through a traditional website. Other than that, well done Bottega Toffoli, and keep up the good food!

I had heard great things about this small and cozy Italian restaurant from friends and colleagues, and now that I have finally tried it I can only confirm the great quality of the food and the unique experience of the service provided. The place is tiny, and booking a table is really a must. The opening hours of the restaurant can be a bit random, so you might not always find someone when you call, but no worries - just leave a message and you will be called back to confirm your booking. Our party of 7 tried a bit of everything, from starters (we had a mixed platter to share with ham, cheese and vegetables - really good), salads, small and big pizzas and of course desserts. The menu (which is written on the wall and is different every day) also included a few pasta options and a fish main course, but we all wanted to go for the pizza and find out if it's really the best in Dublin. Thinking of my pizza with mushrooms and ham, I'm still a bit undecided about it being the best, but it certainly ranks in my personal top 3. Ingredients are fresh, the chef clearly works with experience and passion, and the final result is very similar to a good pizza you would taste in Italy. What makes you remember that you are not in Italy, unfortunately, is the price: with prices ranging from 11 to 18 euros, I still can't believe how much you have to pay in Dublin to taste a good pizza. This is the only reason why I stop at 4 stars, but for everything else thumbs up for Bottega Toffoli!

The pizza was delicious. I made my own by adding roasted red peppers, mushrooms and spicy salami to the margherita pizza and it was amazing! The large salad with grilled vegetables id also a must! One advice to people who are in a rush, this may not be a good choice if you are in a hurry. Carlo the owner, is the chef and the only person working there. However, In my opinion it was worth the wait.

It has the genuine Italian taste and atmosphere. Service team remembers me and are very friendly. Everything they have, from appetizers, to pastas, to steak, to dessert! We walked over and you can see it was busy and a small restaurant but they luckily had availability and got us a table quickly. Once there we were given break, oil, and vinegar as well as water to enjoy as we looked over our menu. The server recommended a great wine my friend never had and we ordered an appetizer and meal. For the appetizer we ordered: Calamari in crosta and it was honestly one of the best if not best calamari I've had in a long time. It was light, crispy and not oily. Also loved that sauce they paired with it! For the main meal I ordered: Tagliatelle ai frurti de maré e bisque di gamigri Rossi. It was delicious and my friend ordered Tagliatelle al Ragu di cervo Irlandese and she said it was incredible and savored every bite. We didn't order dessert, but would absolutely pop back over when in town. The price was extremely reasonable as well! Lastly the restrooms were clean!

This place shocked me!…read more I found San Lorenzo's via Yelp, so thank you Yelpers! It is one of the few places in Dublin that takes American Express cards. So you can leave home without it when you come here When we asked if they had a table they said only if you are up from the table in an hour. We were hungry so we agreed The environment is dark and tasteful and lively The wine list is not good, but the food and the staff make up for everything The avocado and caprese salad was awesome The shrimp in wine sauce was off the charts delicious The chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto was delicious and the polenta and creamed corn were spectacular The monk fish wrapped in crispy pancetta on a bed of pesto basil was amazing To top it off we had the Nutella cheesecake with Carmel sauce and gelato with biscotti crumbs on top- this was surreal!!! All this and we were done with all the food, a bottle of wine and cappuccinos in an hour and never felt rushed If you are in the mood for Italian food, come to San Lorenzo's

Things I liked about Sprezzatura: - whatever you're in the mood for (marinara, carbonara, bolognese...), it's probably on the menu that night - the sauces are rich/heavy. I like, but maybe not everyone will. - generous portions - super friendly service Things I wasn't crazy about: - the finish on the table left a stickiness that was annoying as we sat through our meal - the kitchen door kept slamming shut (loudly) with every staff pass-through and needs some sort of better hinge or soft close mechanism - each pasta dish was a bit overrun with sauce. I might have soaked it up with some bread, but the amount was unnecessary for the pasta alone. We ordered three pastas dishes. I actually liked the one I didn't order the most - an amatriciana-like red sauce with a little spice. My wife enjoyed the Fettucini, Nduja and Mascarpone. The Mafaldine Cashel Blue (cheese) and Roasted Walnuts, which also had caramelized onions in it, was actually not as sweet as I expected (or wanted) it to be. What we did agree on, though, was how delicious the arancini was (we went with spicy sausage). I would lead with that...but don't get carried away. The wine choices were limited, but solid. And the price was very reasonable. I'd go back again (if I actually lived in Ireland!), mostly when I have a fix for a certain flavor. There was a lot of delivery business taking place during our visit. I suspect these sauces don't travel well (no firsthand experience with that), so dine in seems like the better call to me.
