If you have allergies and kids, this place is for you. Gluten free options for EVERYTHING, and they go above and beyond to avoid cross contamination. We had a young child with us and they had high chair, a kids menu, and a GREAT deal for a kids meal. The servers were incredible, being so patient with our young child. When we walked on they asked us were we were from we said thailand and they kept calling us chinese even though we kept telling them we were thai. Milano is the Dublin answer to the Pizza Express chain. I'm always wary of pizza chains but I was craving a slice or three. While not the best pizza I've had (Napoli has ruined me), it hit the spot. I wish the bottom had been a bit more crisp. Instead it needed folding or eating with a knife and fork. Four stars because while it's not the most incredible pizza I've ever eaten, it's in a great location, has outdoor seating, strong drinks, and delivers what I expected of a chain. read more

Not very good at all. While I was in London, I visited the English version of Milano, Pizza Express. I didn't know that Pizza Express has an Irish equivalent, so I was surprised when I saw Milano had the same signage, but a different name. After some research, I saw that they were the same company, and decided to visit. My experience at Pizza Express was nothing out of this world, so I wasn't expecting an amazing experience. Unfortunately, my experience was much more lackluster than I had hoped. To start with, we got the Baked Dough Balls. They were just ok. Basically just a ball of bread. I thought the sauces would be better, but they weren't. We also decided to try the Polenta Chips. Again, not horrible, but not great. For my main dish I order the American. This is a standard pepperoni pizza. Like the dough balls, and Polenta Chips, it wasn't bad, but not worth it. I don't think I would ever visit Milano again. I'm sure there are much better pizza places in Dublin. read more

dropped in after 7 days of Irish food we were ready for a change. Temple Bar was a bit less crazy on a Sunday night but crowded as was Milanos but we got a small table. Both the waitress and server struggled with English, but we ordered 2 basic menu pizzas, and i a Gin and Tonic; their specialty a GT garden. it has mint and a cucumber. The waitress came back after quite awhile with a GT, but no mint and no cucumber, but a lemon? I told her that this is not what I ordered, she said no mint no cucumber, it's Sunday so out of things? I asked for a Guinness draft, again, Sunday, none left?? in Dublin?? my wife's margarita pizza was a school cafeteria cheese pizza and mine has such grease the middle pieces couldn't be picked up. there are far better pizzas in Dublin. read more

Amazing place to eat in the Temple Bar area! The staff was very friendly and approachable. The food was excellent. My partner and I ordered one of their pizzas and a pasta dish plus an apetizer of baked dough balls. The pizza and dough balls were very good. Unfortunatly the carbornara I ordered was ok, a bit plain but still good to eat. Overall, the restaurant was great, food quality was great, and the staff was great. read more

A Milano is a Milano is a Milano (except for the one in Galway, who's staff are all beautiful jerks). Every branch of this chain restaurant has a similar vibe, similar offers and similar prices. On my recent visit to this particular branch, I noted that it had fewer kid diners than its siblings. The staff were standoffish yet pleasant, but I imagine that had something to do with the weekend; Temple Bar was filled with drunken football fans and loud, slow-walking tourists. The food was lovely and came out quick - as always. After the sun-dried tomatoes to start; I had a pizza, while my buddy got a big substantial salad. We left full, happy and full of wine. read more

Super hungry?! Then 'super size' your pizza by ordering a Romana pie! Want a glass of wine on the side? Five lovely italian red wines by the glass in a full size or 'mini' if you're watching your intake. I always walk away satisfied. And, whatsmore, it's a great spot for a 'date night' or a group of friends! Want another 'tip'?! Get 'Nina' to be your server, and you'll feel like royalty! How about one final tip?! People like to criticise Milano for not being authentically Italian and for being part of a chain and blah blah blah...The long and short of it is that Milano does great food and has good service. I went here for a birthday lunch a few months back and had a really nice meal. They didn't have any candles to put in my desert so the staff made do with a night light. Which was simultaneously funny and disappointing. Get the Caesar salad. One of the best in Dublin. read more

I was very impressed by this restaurant! The food was better than I could have expected, being outside of Italy and all. We ordered the buffalo mozzarella and the Calabrese pizza. Both were outstanding, with a thin and flavorful crust. You have to eat the pizza with a fork and knife (due to the thinness) but that seems to be the way to eat pizza in Ireland anyway. The sausage on the Calabrese pizza was top notch and delectably spicy. .There were hot red peppers on there as well. They have red pepper oil and garlic oil (wow) available too if you ask. I also ordered a side of the cole slaw and it was smokey and delightful. It was really interesting to see the cooks preparing the pizza dough right next to our table. Will definitely make it back to Milano on my next trip to Ireland. read more

We spent almost €8 for 6 skinny chicken wings. €15 on a pizza with an over cooked egg(hard boiled instead of over easy or sunny side up) and sauce only on the border by the crust. Don't laugh -- you come to Dublin and end up in an Italian rest. On top of that I live in Napoli. However our flight arrived late, it was the only place it would let us sit down at 10:30 pm. Oh my god what a pleasant surprise, staff is fantastic , and very attentive. Ingredients are fresh, and service is fast. The establishment is very modern , and has great music. Hmmmm, Its a tough review because out waiter was so lovely I feel terrible for him that the chefs and manager let the place down so badly. I took my daughter for a bit to eat on Thursday and we both ordered pizzas, mine a veggie, hers a margarita. They were both undercooked, flavourless and bland, a real let down. We eventually told the waiter who got his manager over, and the pizzas were switched out for pastas, grand, nothing to write home about but far superior to the pizzas. The real shock was the bill. despite us being unable to eat the pizzas and having to change to the pastas, we were charged for the pastas at their full price, each dish being €3 more than the pizzas had been, and I nearly dropped from shock when I was charged €3.40 for one Fanta! Complete rip off and terrible food, I will never return. read more

Hadn't been back to Milano for a couple of years, but we wanted a dinner on the cheap and on Milano's website there are always good offers. In this case we got 2 courses for 14 euro. Can't get any cheaper in Dublin on a saturday night! The mozzarella/tomato/pesto starter was yum, tasted really fresh. For a main I had the fiorentina (mmm spinach!) on a Romano base (extra thin). Wooo, this pizza was massive! I didn't think I could finish it, but somehow I did, the base was so thin that it didn't feel too heavy on the tummy, or maybe it was me being a glutton who knows. I'm not a 3 course kind of person, but since I was pigging out anyway I decided to finish with tiramisu. A ridiculously huge sized portion came out. Not the best tiramisu I ever had, but enjoyable. The waiter was super friendly, but a bit too eager. Whenever we had our last bite (still chewing), he came over and took away the plates. In fact, he took away the dessert plate of my friend when there was still a bite of brownie left. Guess they want people in and out asap, there was an actual queue out the door! All in all, 3 stars. This Milano location is way too loud for my liking - dancy pop music on the speakers, and the tables are really close together. Think it would be best suited for a night out with a bigger group of people. For a chain restaurant the quality of the food is quite alright though. read more

I've been dreaming about their delicious thin crust pizza for about 2 years. The last time I was lucky enough to eat their pizza was at pizza express in Belfast and when I inquired whether we could find the chain in dublin, was told no. Little did I know that Milano is pizza express (under a different name). They have the exact same menu and the same pizza I had two years ago (the padano). Yes, this pizza clocks in at 830 calories, so I had to plan / skip a meal accordingly, but you can also get the padano with a hole in the middle (where a salad is filled) for a meal that is under 500 calories. FYI - they have a whole section of 500 calorie pizzas with holes in them, filled with salad. read more

Went in the other day with a friend. The dough they use seems to me to be amongst the worst ive ever had on a pizza, spend half our meal time just trying to cut the thing. The taste was ok but it was far far too tough. The appetizer was nice but again came with thin bread that didnt taste nice. We got ice cream for dessert which was nice enough but i also must say the food was ridiculously overpriced. It was 17 euro for my pizza and the meal for the two of us 60 euro. Not worth it. This is an innovative and crestive pizza restaurant. And I would like to put the emphasis on RESTAURANT. Just an interesting list of designed pizzas - you will miss the Cappriciosa or quattrocento Stagioni though. But here that will not leave you frustrated. Choose the CALABRESE if you like it SPICY or any of the other creations. If it is true, they have a chef you creates those pizzas and dishes for this small chain of pizza restaurants. To those of you giving this place anything other than two stars or less, you should have your Yelp account revoked. This place is horrible. Even if you were born and raised in Ireland and never ventured outside of the country, Pizza Hut and Papa John's has outlets in the country so you know damn well what shitty pizza tastes like and this place serves up pizza that is shittier than either of those two establishments. I ordered a pizza magherita which consisted of barely cooked dough and a thimble full of mozzarella cheese. My husband got the American pizza, more like AmeriCAN'T. My daughter got the pasta bolognese, which ironically manages to make your memories of chef boyardee seem like your first foodie experience. We had the bruschetta and calamari appetizers. The calamari app comes straight from a bag frozen in the shape and consistency of doughy onion rings. These are shitty low rent convenience store quality appetizers. The bruschetta is one piece of sandwich sized bread with chopped tomatoes, onions, and pesto. The best thing I can say is it was edible, barely. All this bottom barrel crap for the low low price of 45 euro. No thanks. I don't know which is more troublesome to me, the mass of garbage rumbling through my intestine or the money I could have burned buying some shitty "as seen on tv" piece of garbage. read more

Fiorentia with parma ham please. That's my favourite Milano's pizza. It's great. But, I also have a very soft spot for the gorgeous dough balls - yum. Milano's is great. Especially when there's a two for one offer on (just keep your eyes out for it). They also do gorgeous salads. The latest trend is to do half-pizza-half-salads where they cut the middle out of a pizza and replace it with some lettuce or rocket. Nice, but I miss the middle. I'll stick to my Fiorentina. Although I continue to tell myself I need to branch out and find other pizza places, I just can't seem to get away from Milano. They have great selection of pizza, more options than one needs. The crust is thin and crunchy, the toppings are cooked to perfect and is 100% satisfying. Although I have my favourites, I do try to switch it up just to say that I have tried a few. My favourites after all of this time are Diavolo, topped with beef, pepperoni, mozzarella, tomato, spicy peppers, you get the drift. Tied for first place is Il Padrino is topped with succulent, moist chicken, roasted tomatoes, veggies, mozzarella and made with a pesto base. Number three is Padana, topped with goat's cheese, caramelized onions, mozzarella and spinach. You had me at goat's cheese..... With at least 10 more options that I still have yet to try, I certainly will be back. read more

There are no surprises on a visit to Milano's. The pizzas are reasonably good, the salads generous and the pastas - lasagne, canneloni and pasta pesto - filling. They are adapting well to new trends towards healthier eating by introducing the "Leggera" pizza - basically a pizza with the centre removed and salad in its place. It's a popular place for groups, and I've been here a few times for birthday parties and work dos. The mission statement on their promotional material proclaims their "mission to spread Milano "Pizza Perfection" throughout Ireland", and the chain continues to grow, proving that in a recession, Irish people stick to what they know, and nothing beats the Irish take on Italian standards for a cheap meal out. read more

Went here yesterday as my friend had a voucher. Until March 7, Milano is offering two mains for 15€! Sweeeet! The place was pretty packed, so packed that the waiter had to turn many hungry guests away. Think many of the dining guest were taking advantage of the good deal. Milano does serve some of the more gorgeous pizzas in Dublin, especially if you order the thin-crust Padana (topped with goats' cheese, spinach, red onion, caramelised onions and garlic oil). Yum! Me and my friend split a pizza and a big caesar salad plate (enough to make us both stuffed) with a bottle of Chianti and the bill was only 40€. ***WARNING - ALLERGY NEGLIGENCE & DANGEROUSLY POOR SERVICE*** Myself and my girlfriend(who is a coeliac) ate here on 13/11/16. We ordered gluten free dough balls for a starter and then 2 pizzas(one gf, one regular) for mains. An hour after ordering we were still waiting for our food. A couple beside us had ordered, eaten 2 courses and paid in this time. Our main courses arrived, still no sign of the doughballs. They were brought out after I had finished my pizza. Shockingly bad service but it gets worse. I tried my girlfriends pizza and it tasted identical to mine. Now anyone who has tasted gluten free dough knows there is a difference from regular pizza dough. Sure enough when we got home she was violently ill. We will never be eating here again and recommend anyone who has allergies of any kind avoids Milanos as well as they clearly do not take them seriously. read more

My feet were on the ground a little more than a hour and I ended up here for lunch. The place is cute but the tables are packed in. Maybe the American in me wanted more space. I ordered water to drink. I loved how it was brought to me in a pitcher to keep on the table. I do like being able to refill my glass when I need to. My cannelloni was fabulous. I really wanted some bread but I refrained. I did get a Bailey's latte for dessert. It was great. Not as hot as I like but still good in flavor. read more

Although staff is very polite, I didn't enjoy food and prices. Starter that is made for two bites was almost 7€. For what??? Pasta was so bad. They didnt even bring cheese as a side portion. Cheese was topped in the kitchen. By the time they brought it on my table, well you could imagine how it looked like! I think it's hard to go wrong with Milano's. The menu is varied and reliable and everything is always very tasty. Their dough balls are so divine I could probably just eat a bucket of them and be satisfied, however more often than not I restrain myself and go for the salad Nicoise. It's pretty simple - the usual lettuce, tuna, egg, green beans etc - and I could probably re-create it at home myself, but sometimes that's all you want when you eat out. You don't always want to be dealing with heavy sauces and mysterious flavours. Milano's pizzas are delicious too and never fail to hit the spot. The bill won't bankrupt you either, even if you add some wine to the meal. All in all, Milano's is a safe bet. read more
