Our first stop in Dublin after a 3 hour drive was here, a nice Italian bistro. We shared the meatball starter, it had 4 small meatballs in an excellent sauce. We then ordered a Margherita and a Fume. They were both outstanding. Crust and sauce were on point, with the cheese being especially delicious. The smoked pancetta was thinly sliced and very tasty. This restaurant serves up the best pizza and overall Italian food I've ever had. The staff at the Conrad Hotel said you must try Cirillos and they were right. It was so good we came back several days later. The staff were friendly and always making sure we were taken care of and at the end of the night joined us for some lemon cello. We had a reservation for two and were rushed the entire time . We were seated at a four-top made up of two two-tops. Ten minutes in, after drinks had been served, they asked us to split the two tables. We did, with half of our settings and our cell phones going along with the other table. We ordered pizza and panzanella. The pizza was good. The panzanella was made with grainy tomatoes and croutons bought in a package from Tesco. The second we had finished with the pizza, with half a bottle of wine on the table, they cleared the dishes and asked us if we wanted desert. When we said, "No", the bill was presented and we were asked to pay in cash if possible. Perhaps they should say that debit cards and cash are appreciated but credit cards work as well. Perhaps they should wait five minutes to look at the menu. Perhaps they should allow five minutes for the customers to enjoy the wine before the food is served. Perhaps they should learn how to make panzanella. Perhaps they should wait five minutes to finish the wine after the customer has eaten. read more

My friend and I shared a pizza Amatriciana and the pasta Casarecce; both dishes were completely exceptional.  Just how exceptional?  It's safe to say that the cuisine here is every bit as good (if not better) than what I get from the best restaurants on my most recent trip to Italy :-) Tip: Their pizzas are delicious because they do all the components right - especially the dough; it's easy to digest and completely authentic Over and above the superior quality of the food, we were greeted warmly and well attended by all the staffers we met during our visit. read more

To the Owner of Cirillo's, I wanted to applaud your team for their exceptional service and consideration to me and my husband during our trip to Dublin. On Friday, August 19, my husband and I were strolling from our hotel - The Shelbourne down Baggot Street seeking a place to have dinner. I have a severe seafood allergy and cross contamination is a big concern when I dine out, thus we try to find a place that would have alternatives for me to eat. After being refused at one of the restaurants, your manager noticed us outside the door of your restaurant. Even though he was VERY busy he asked if we needed assistance. We explained our situation and he said no problem. Without hesitation, he found us a delightful table downstairs not far from the kitchen. He, the service staff and chef assured us they would be cautious with our meal. The restaurant was packed so it wasn't like you needed our business, we felt more like the Cirillo's Team wanted to ensure that we were taken of. Our table downstairs was a great vantage point to watch your team manage the service for your patrons (downstairs, upstairs and takeout orders). They were so well choreographed, moving around each other, passing items up and down the stairs and all the while with smiles. This was an excellent "best practices" example of how teams should work together ! You should be very proud of your Manager and Team!!! read more

Can't deny it this is one awesome pizza ! As my office is just around the corner i am finding this place hard to resist. I have gone for the special pizza each time and it hasn't let me down. Last week was especially good with a lovely Italian sausage and mozzarella. The crust the perfect mix of crunchy and chewy. They start at €12 which is pretty good value. The bruschetta is also fab especially the olive tapenade - one the best I've ever had. The drinks menu is good with a few nice cocktails. Can't help but give this place a five. Great food, wine and a little banter with the staff. Who, by the way, are fab. Booked on a Saturday evening. We were told we'd have to give the table back within 1.5 hours which was no issue because the service is v efficient. They did manage to take in walkins but it seemed like it was getting v busy so if you're looking to go I'd suggest you book ahead or you can get takeout. I was super delighted to discover that I could order an actual white pizza without having to ask for a pizza with no tomato sauce (I don't like tomato sauce on my pizza so? Why is that such a big deal?!) Anyhow the three of us ordered the antipasti sharing plate. I loved the cheese and the bread. I didn't get to try the salami, pancetta or the veg but it all looked so so good. You snooze, you lose right? :) Shared a bottle of their house red wine which is currently a Sangiovese / Merlot and is v smooth. Kinda far too easy to drink! For my main I got a white pizza - Pupillos. That was topped with sweet salami, ricotta, mozzarella and black pepper. Yummo!! The crust was incredible. I'd be the size of a house but would happily eat that ALL day. Left room for dessert? Hells yes! I got their special - an extremely light five star tiramisu which I did actually reluctantly share because it was just AMAZING! Will definitely be back soon. Delighted when I found out there was a new pizza eatery in town. Tried to drop in for dinner on a Sunday and checked their website and realised that they don't open on a Sundays - dunno if that's good/bad for a business on Baggot St. It wasn't busy on a Wednesday when I visited Crillos for food. Small restaurant, tables are close together. Great wine, good pizza but the service wasn't great. We were told they needed the table and we were basically kicked out. Wouldn't be going back anytime soon. read more

We were grateful that they fit us in on short notice. Then we were relieved not to be seated upstairs, where it was stifling. While I didn't have my eye on Italian food in Ireland, my friend and I were walking on Baggot Street and a woman on the street gave us a few recommendations including Cirillo's. We decided to give it a try and it was absolutely outstanding. It's a small restaurant, so when we walked in without a reservation we were told that was fine but they needed the table back just over an hour later. Luckily, the waitstaff is extremely efficient and friendly so we were able to give the table back at a reasonable time without feeling like we were rushed out. I didn't recognize the types of wine by the glass, but the waitress told me the Nero di Troia was the most dry so I opted for it and she was spot on with her description. For the main course their menu is predominately pizza, but I decided to try the Pappardelle (one of my favorite pastas) with Braised Lamb Ragu, with Rosemary Pecorino, Black Olives & Anchovy Butter. It wasn't too rich and the pasta melted in my mouth. I was sufficiently full, but my friend and I indulged by splitting the Dolce a Latte, a Chocolate Ganache, Caramel Mousse & Banana Puree. We weren't sure what to expect, but it came with a dollop of thick, dark chocolate (perfect for chocoholics), a lighter caramel mousse and a small amount of the banana puree, which tasted like a creamy version of fresh bananas. The flavors blended together so well and would definitely order this if I returned to Cirillo's!! This is a great spot for a small group of friends, probably no more than 6-8 due to the restaurant's size or a date. I would also recommend having a reservation, just in case. read more

Quite frankly the best pizza... and bruschetta in Dublin! This restaurant is conveniently located with plenty of bars surrounding it. Modern, simple decor, the right amount of music (great playlist). A charming, helpful server took care of us efficiently (6 of us). Absolutely delicious and fresh. I had bruschetta but tasted everyone's starters and pizzas. The pizza bases are perfection. All toppings were as good as each other. They ACTUALLY serve real pistachio icecream unlike most places. We indulged in cocktails too. Well made and presented in their own style. Very nice wine list. We had a Puglia Negromaro.... delicious. The rest of the wine list looks impressive also! We were given complimentary Lemoncello after we'd settled up. I truly believe the heart and soul of a new restaurant is in the people working the room- james and his team are off to a great start. We visited on a whim for the hunt of pasta after days and days of meat and potatoes. The warm room, staff and aromas were a success from the start- combined with equally yummy food and fun neighbor conversation I wish we could say we will be back- but we must continue our road trip. Based on the reviews, I was quite disappointed. After reading other yelpers' words, I was expecting to have an experience akin to eating pizza in Italy - to be absolutely blown away by savory flavors and a perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and crust. Unfortunately, this was not any of that. I had the Margherita. I did like the doughy crust (I love doughy crusts), but it was not notably thin. The amount of cheese was excessive and held large puddles of oil. The basil was dark and shriveled and sparse throughout. Sadly, the tomato sauce barely balanced out their counterparts. I found myself trying to ration the sauce! It's an okay pizza to just have pizza, but there is no reason to wait for it, and I would not pass up other restaurants for this one. For those who think it compares to an Italian pizza - go to Italy and you'll never think the same again!!! read more

Finally got to try this place out after weeks of wanting to since it opened. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience. We were sat in the downstairs section which definitely seemed like the nicer area. Both floors are pretty small and the tables are close together which means it can get pretty loud. It isn't always conducive to conversation flowing but it didn't detract from my experience. The food was simple but faultless. My friend and I shared an antipasti sharing platter of cured meats, cheese and rosemary shortbreads which were delicious. For my main I tried out their carbonara pizza as I had heard a lot about it and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The service was great, very efficient but not at all overbearing, my only real complaint was how uncomfortably full I was by the end which was entirely my own fault. I think it was pretty reasonably priced for the quality of food I received. read more

Went for an outdoor dinner with a couple of friends, & the waiters were a bit brusque, but it's Covid & they were busy so I was giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. Meal was mediocre, but fine. However, we witnessed a truly horrible moment from the staff. A homeless woman approached our table which was not a problem; I didn't have any cash on me & apologised to the woman who then walked on. No-one felt hassled in any way, & just felt bad we didn't have cash. One of the waiters then called out to the woman, saying "I have cash!", & the woman turned around hopefully - at which point the waiter said "Only joking." It was such an utterly horrible, dehumanising thing to do, so cruel & utterly unnecessary. I'm all for supporting businesses recovering from Covid, but I will never return to a place where such dehumanising, sadistic treatment of vulnerable people is the norm. Firstly you need to know something: Italian food is probably my favourite type of food. So I tend to be very fussy. I heard a lot about this place on social media especially thanks to Lovin Dublin so I decided to book on a Wednesday evening. Advice : book, no matter how many you are. They were sending people away on a Wednesday evening, the place was packed. If you come and the table isn't ready yet you can sit by the window and enjoy a glass of wine which is really nice. There are 5 starters, 3 pasta dishes and about 10-12 pizzas. 3 desserts and a cheeseboard. Now I usually go for a pizza anyway do I didn't mind the poor choice in pasta. However I have to say that each pasta dish had a very nice twist like crab or kale. I'm a big fan of pizza and went for Daniele (courgette, mozzarella and Gorgonzola). I have to say it was delicious and I absolutely loved the base and crust. It wasn't too filling either so I decided to go for a sweet treat. Had 2 scoops buttermilk sorbet and one vanilla, a nice way to end my meal. My friend had the dark truffle and hazelnut cake which was tasty, not too sweet and surprisingly light. Portions were perfect to end the meal. The staff was very nice and very efficient, dishes came quickly although the place was packed. It's a bit pricey (12-17 for pizza and 6-7 for dessert) but it's delicious. read more

We had the starter for 2 with the rosemary bread and it was absolutely delicious. Food came out very quickly. My mam got the four cheese pizza which was beautiful and came out lovely. However, my pizza was a little dissapointing. Im not sure exactly what it was called but it had ricotta, pepperoni and basil on it. I love basil on my pizza so the fact that it had basil made me want it even more. When I got it, the cheese was pooled on one half of the pizza and there was ONE piece of basil on it and to be honest I didn't enjoy it. My dessert was phenomenal, I got the 'dolce al latte'. My pinot grigio was beautiful also. I would honestly recommend going here as I think my pizza was a one off read more
