What an incredible experience! Best pizza & gnocchi I've had, ever! Server Norman also made the visit extra special. So good we went baby two nights in a row.

we loved paulies!!! the vibe was so warm and cozy and the service was amazing. norman was a great welcoming presence, boston connections pizza dough was phenomenal so that was a smash hit (except the siciliano was a little too salty) but we left clean plates. and the gnocchi was perfectly pan seared and the cheese on it was delicious. i have to come back

We both got pizzas: margherita & super picante . They were amazing!

If you're in Dublin, you MUST go here. Seriously. I never write reviews, but I absolutely had to for this place. The food is AMAZING. I didn't know that in Dublin you basically have to make a reservation for dinner every night if you want to eat somewhere. On our first night we came here and they were fully booked and we didn't have a reservation but the manager squeezed us in anyway. The staff here is so friendly and the atmosphere is great. My boyfriend and I ate here twice in our short time here because it was so good & they also have a full bar. We got pizzas and they were delicious, maybe even the best we've ever had. The food came out so quickly each time and I couldn't be happier that I discovered this place.

Outstanding. An unexpected find and the name does not do justice to what you find. Try to start grilled peaches with buffalo mozzarella. Then seafood linguine topped off with thick dark chocolate mousse. Enough to share for only 54 euro. A great neighborhood spot.

Well, what more can be said that hasn't been? The pizzas are absolutely delicous, ain't no doubt about it. High quality toppings, well thought out combinations and excellent crust (if a little burnt for me, though some people seem to like that) The vibe is also spot on - nicely candlelit tables, intimate settings but still a casual feeling to it all. Service was very hit and miss. They were busy, fair enough, but aren't they always? The pizzas came straight away, but after that, we must have been waiting half an hour to get our desert menus, another 20 mins to get our bill. Both waiter and waitress were super sound and I could see they were really rushed, but the service really did put a little bit of a dampner on it. Pretty much everything I asked for, from water to desert to the bill, had to be asked for a min of twice. Either way, I'm sure I'll be back, it's a lovely spot. Not entirely sure it deserves the top spot in Dublin for pizza buzz, but it's up there for sure!

She's called Bianca and I'm still having dreams about her.

I've been wanting to try paulies since 2011, expectations were high. And boy was it worth the wait. I'm a major pizza fan and I always complain that outside of Italy people don't know how to make pizza. I sincerely apologise. Paulies you are a dream come true my pizza was amazing and perfect. The crust was crispy and thin yet reliable. You could taste the sauce and it just did this beautiful dance with the cheese which effortlessly complimented the parma ham. As if that wasn't amazing enough my friend paid for dinner so I mean it was pretty much the best meal ever! The atmosphere was great I imagine it would be a great place for a date.

I love Paulie's. Great food, always a lively bustling vibe and even a patio for warm summer nights (I know, it's winter, but it's never too early to plan ahead for next year!). The pizza is obviously a highlight with a perfectly chewy crispy crust. The crust, to me, is everything and if you're also obsessed with this in a pizza, I recommend the Bianca. It's their white base pizza (no tomato sauce), topped with parmesan, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto & rocket. All their pizzas are great, but not having the moisture of the tomato sauce means the crust stays perfect through your entire meal. I've also tried their pot of mussels and the prawn linguine, which was one of the daily specials. They were also good, although the pasta was under-seasoned. I didn't mind that because we were able to easily troubleshoot and remedy that with salt at the table. As other reviewers have mentioned, they do get VERY busy and the service a bit slow. Make a reservation and don't go if you're in a rush to be somewhere afterwards. One last thing - finish your meal with an espresso martini. It was amazing.

A cool spring evening in Dublin and discovering the ultimate authentic Italian pizza place (thanks for the hot tip Yelpers). We sat outside with the luxury of an outdoor heater and lap blankets on every chair. There was no salad on the menu, but the kitchen put together two special orders of fresh greens, topped by a lovely shaved Parmesan and drizzled with a balsamic dressing. They were delicious! The pizza selection was inventive without being weird (you know what I mean), with thin open-oven baked crust and fresh ingredients. Lots of choices here. For dessert we shared a light custard dish topped with fresh berries. Perfect! We had a bottle of the house red wine. It was fairly priced, light bodied, and a bit sour. For the price it was acceptable, but not memorable. (We're from Sonoma County, CA and a bit spoiled when it comes to wine.) Pauline's is a fabulous restaurant and I highly recommend it!!

    The Vegan Pizza

Great pizza in a homey authentic Italian ambiance. The interior is cozy, seating only about 30 people-for a larger party, I recommend making a reservation. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend at 7pm on a Sunday and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The menu is concise yet interesting, offering a variety of wood fired specialty pizzas, pastas, and the additional Italian sides. Nice selection of beer, wine, and craft cocktails as well. Expecting to order a cheese-less pizza, I was pleased to find that they have vegan cheese, and several fully vegan options on the menu. I got the Vegan Pizza, and my boyfriend got a Rigatoni pasta, as well a side of green salad and garlic bread. My pizza was lacking in a few areas. The vegetables on top were tasty, and the vegan cheese was pleasantly mild and melted well. The crust was chewy and flavorful, but too thin in the middle-I'm talking paper thin. It was too flimsy to support the sauce and toppings, and disintegrated into mush. The side salad was tiny and underdressed. The garlic bread, on the other hand, was amazing-hearty fresh sourdough soaked in an intensely flavorful herbed garlic olive oil. Do not skip this. Service was friendly and perfectly attentive. With two glasses of house wine our total came to €65, which felt slightly overpriced for the quality of the meal. Regardless, I enjoyed the experience and would come here again.

Paulie's is maybe a local treasure. We went on a weeknight, so it wasn't too busy. Though, I imagine that could change drastically on the weekends. My husband got the Zoe, I got the seafood gnocchi special, neither of us were disappointed. I typically don't like meat on pizza, but the sauce/crust on his pizza was fantastic! My gnocchi, for starters, just looked really cool so I had to take a picture. But it also tasted great. We had cocktails, though I can't remember the names. Mine was gin and basil, I believe his was an old fashioned. They were both really excellent, so hopefully the names will come to me at some point in the not-so-distant future.

Easily my favourite pizza place in Dublin. It's always busy and you can only reserve a table on the day so if you fancy a visit, start ringing from four pm. Their starters are gigantic and it's probably best to order one between two people. The deep fried Mozzarella Bocconcini with warm tomato sauce is a great intro to any meal and probably my favourite thing from the starter menu. I've never tried pasta in Paulie's because their pizza is too damn good. My two favourites being Napoletana -tomato sauce, garlic & oregano for €10 and the Margherita D.O.C €12.50. My one criticism of Paulie's is that it can be a wee bit loud if you are sitting downstairs. Upstairs seems to be more chilled and relaxed.

Ill be having dreams about this one!

Ive been waiting to go to this place for ages due to all the positive word of mouth and it absolutely met all my expectations. The pizza was really quickly made and delicious, probably my favourite in dublin. The toppings were so well done and the base divine. I took some of the pizza home with me and it was almost as good the day after! Very reasonable price too.

My Veronese with ham and mushrooms was excellent. I was glad I ordered the 12" as it was very moreish. My companions had the Manhattan Heat which, with the jalapeños, was hot as was the Nduja ordered by companion #3. The house basil pizza was the fourth. We had ordered garlic bread to share before the pizza arrived but it was served almost as the last pizza slices were being hoovered up. Not to worry - it got demolished anyway. One small peeve however. Whilst the BYO policy is very welcome, I felt the €7.50 charge per bottle is taking the proverbial, hence 4 instead of 5 stars. That said, a very good pizza in a cosy setting with friendly, attentive staff. Recommended.

Aside from the smugness, you can also plug in your phone to play music, there's a gorgeo little stove for the winter time, lots of cushions and blankets, and there are seats going all the way round the table, so it's a super social space where you can chat with everyone at the same time. I haven't even gotten to the food yet - the pizzas are perfect - stone baked base, good quality toppings and very simple, no fuss. Only thing I would change would maybe adding in some extra sides / starters, like some different dipping sauces / side salads or starters etc. Oh and best of all, it's BYO! Winner!!

"But why, Brian, is it not," you ask? Many of you may know that my wife uses a wheelchair, so that is usually first on my mind when visiting any establishment. We check to see if it says its accessible. And Wood Fire said it was! Yay! Except, well, sort of yes, sort of no. We were able to get in the door. The first door, to the outside covered seating area. No chance of getting in the second door into the building proper, because that had stairs. But that was ok. It was a nice night out and we were happy to sit in the covered outside area. But is a place really accessible if the toilets are not? Not only would the stairs have been an issue, but there's no way her wheelchair could have navigated through the restaurant to the back, and once there, forget it. Way too small and narrow for a chair to get in there. So yeah, great food, nice people, we had a good time. But I'm not sure "accessible" is accurate.

And it was. Did a little research and found this gem a block and a half from our hotel. Called an ordered a 4 frommagi "mini calzone" and was told they didn't have that on the menu any longer, so I asked why they did have for calzones and he said "we have one with mozzarella, Parmesan, scarmorza and salami". I said "could I order that but without the salami" and so it was done- tre frommagi. I couldn't decide between the Bianca and the "Lucky Tom" but on the owner's suggestion, went with the Bianca, a pizza with an olive oil base, topped with tomato, mozzarella di buffalo, Parma ham, shaved park and rocket (a.k.a. Arugula). When I went to pick them up 10 minutes later, they were ready and had a lovely char from the wood fired oven. The "mini" calzone would've been more than enough for the two of us, and I wished I had ordered just that since we do not have a refrigerator in our room and have to get creative with any leftovers. Anyway both hit the spot, but there was so much cheese in the calzone o ended up having it on the crust of my pizza and there was too much rocket on the pizza, but overall a win and a nice finish to the evening before we drifted off to sleep.
