I very rarely order pizza, it's so very rarely special enough to go for I feel. But in this case, with pizza in the very name of the joint, I decided to partake!! I went for the Smokey Joe which was various meats on a bbq base. Very flavoursome, nice base and lots of delicious toppings. I've had the pastrami high line pizza before here though and would recommend it ahead of the Smokey Joe, if you're stuck between the two of them!! read more

There was an excellent deal here the day we went in: Mon-Sat 12-5pm regular pizza with two toppings. And a proper size pizza at that. Even though it was a deal, there was loads of the two toppings on it. It tasted good too. Staff were nice and helpful. I recommend. read more

Five years later I'm back to see if they have improved. Short answer is no. It's neither good or bad. Persistence of 4 stars over the years mean a lot. My three stars are more in perspective of what real Italian pizza is and what others outside Italy can replicate. Pizza is 6-7/10 here compared to best pizzas I've tasted. Disappointment comes from service and food taste. First of all I have no clue why they don't serve pizzas with sauces (chilli olive oil, chilli, ketchup etc.). You must ask for it to be brought to you. Second disappointment is extra charge for additional topping. I asked to have extra jalapeños and chilli on already spicy pizza with these ingredients. I had to pay €2.40 on top of €10.45. A 20% fee for a few extra pieces of vegetables. This is why I didn't leave tips. €2.40 was my tip FYI. Staff and service is great. Very nice even during busiest times. I'm sorry, but food is primary thing that would make me return here for the 3rd time. There're better pizzerias in Dublin, already been in few. I have to say they definitely don't scrimp on the pizza toppings! I ordered the prawn pizza with corgettes, red onion and garlic and although it was the regular it was plenty and delicious. Couldn't have managed the large one. The sweet potato cubes too were nice with a garlic dip. Yes I like my garlic. The decor has been spruced up lately and I like that they have put in more booths. The same pictures of time magazine with the stars still adorn the walls. The only slight problem was that the seats on the booths were quite high meaning my legs were dangling like a child's. But still definitely my favourite place for pizza in Dublin. read more

It was amazing and only €7.50...bargain. I love the relaxed atmosphere, never felt hurried...even when the place is so busy. Would definitely recommend. read more

The Guacamole with tortillas (or something) was nothing spectacular... but the pizza was GREAT. Pulled pork in a pizza was daring and surprisingly good, with creme fraiche and bbq sauce, very nice, tasty, yummy, I have to come back to try new pizzas. PS. All the place is filled with Rolling Stone covers (the magazine, not the band) hanging in the walls. It´s fine. read more

We've always been coming here and have never been disappointed. If anyone is thinking of coming down make sure you book a table cause this place fills up fairly quickly. I'd recommend the smoky joe pizza, out of this world. They don't deliver put I don't mind that... Well worth the travel. They have a new menu so I'm trying the new pulled pork pizza. Will let you all know what it's like :-) read more

This place is great. I'm an avid fan! The food is excellent and is reasonably priced. You can eat in the restaurant or call up for collection. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is good too. The soft drinks aren't too pricey either which makes a pleasant change from other restaurants. Had a pizza to take away from there after helping mates paint their new house around the corner so was ravenously hungry, come dinner time I got the Texan Chicken which was lurrrvely - good quality toppings and tasted amazing. They also provided a dip pot of cream cheese for the crust which was nice but was a bit bland, could maybe incorporate a bit of garlic / herb flavour in it? Definitely a thumbs up from Timmy. read more

Have been coming here for years and I love, love this place!! They have the best pizza in Dublin, stonebaked, thin crust and with a multitude of varieties and toppings available. The service is fantastic and the prices are excellent - watch out for the Early bird at €15.95 - it's an absolute winner. You have to get the coleslaw and have it with your pizza (sounds crazy but it's soooo good). The vanilla Philly cheesecake they do is also really yummy - nice and simple but always delicious. Come for the pizza and you'll be back because of the prices, service and general awesomeness!! read more

I'm from Chicago. I enjoy pizza a great deal. Correction I love pizza. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here and it soon after led to the second 5 days later. Both times we ordered the thai chicken pizza. I know, we should have tried something different but it was such a unique pizza we wanted to experience it again. Each visit also was enhanced with a carafe of Pinot Noir. The second visit was capped off with dessert. I had the chocolate cake with ice cream and my wife have the sticky toffee pudding. Both were good. They also have friendly service here. This was our first experience(possibly only) of pizza in Ireland, and it was a memorable one. read more

Ate here for the first time on my last trip to Dublin with my family. We ordered 4 small pizzas to try some of the unique variety of pizzas that they offer. The Tribeca Prawn Pizza was delicious and had just the right amount of spice that balanced out the entire pizza. Both the Margarita and Mozzarella pizza were ok, but nothing that stood out compared to any other pizza places. Unfortunately, the Highline Pastrami Pizza was overly greasy and had way too much mustard sauce for our liking. The service was a bit lackluster since we went at prime dinner time as well. read more

I am a pizza fan. Like serious pizza fan. If there was only one food I could eat for the rest of my life, it'd probably be pizza. & this place is one of the reasons why I think that. Their imagination and flavours are second to none!! I would love to give them 5 stars but if I'm being totally honest the quality is surpassed by other pizza places in the city & it's really only their imagination that pushes them out of the 3 star range - that being said I cannot over emphasise how much you need to go & order something unusual - don't just get a standard flavour that you're used to. I recommend the Hoisin Duck pizza. Delish. Also, the décor in this place is fantastic! read more

Great local eatery with delicious salads and pizza. The early bird is a steal at €15.95 for two courses. Often really busy during the week so if you are planning a trip definitely call Ahead and make a reservation. I would avoid going here if there are any events in Croke Park because it's obviously mayhem trying to get parking etc (Unless you are attending said event yourself then drop in for delicious eats) read more

Newly refurbished and a serious improvement on how the interior was previously. Has a cool New York vibe now. The good news is the pizza still as awesome as ever. We had 2 pizzas, wine & dessert for €50. Well worth it, seriously stuffed afterwards. Might be dangerous that this little gem is a 3 minute walk from my apartment!!!!! read more

Ate here yesterday for the first time. I had the nachos to start which were decent enough. Had the special pizza for main which was pretty good. Service was good and friendly. I would definitely give this 5 stars, myself and three of my children book a table for a certain time, got served straight away, weren't waiting long for food, was very hot just right, wasn't a crumb left on our plates, portions were perfect, and the desert was delicious and left with our bellys full and prices were very resonable, I would definitely go back again my new hot spot for myself , friends and family and services was very good read more

For years now I've been a fan of Independent pizza company and their sister shop the Gotham Cafe. They are about one of the very few pizzerias in Dublin who know how to make the classic, thin and crispy yet chewy pizza base with a great range of pizza toppings. I particularly like the bacon, olives and spinach combo. They also offer a range of pasta and salad dishes. read more

Best sit down Pizza on the northside. Sadly we're not exactly spoiled for choice in the the D9, D11 area, and even if we were try beat Indo pizza at your pearl. Not a bargain piece of bread, but no rip off Either. Don't say you haven't been recommended! read more

Really disappointed with the food here. Pizza was tasteless and dry. Friendly service but let down by the tasteless food. It tasted like they forgot to put on tomato base on the pizza. A real pity because I have been a customer since it opened in 1984 but I think it's time to find a new pizza joint read more

One of my favorite spots to eat. I particularly like the guacamole starter but they give less dip now then they use too. The lasagna is yum. The pizzas are great and brilliant range of toppings. They've added chips to the menu but they're surprisingly not great! Frozen chips at best. Very disappointed with those when I first got them so never again! Stick with the wedges or baby potatoes. Great value tasty food. read more

Located in Drumcondra, close to Croke Park is this little gem of a pizza place. Although the pizzas are to die for, the food menu is not confined solely to pizza as there is a great range of food, including meat and fish. Their wine meny is great and the atmosphere is simple and unpretentious. A great place for a quiet night out or equally a night out with a group of friends! read more

Delicious!!! The early bird dinner is great value. €15 gets you 2 courses and a drink. Pizzas are incredibly fresh and SO yummy. Dessert was such a generous portion, we almost couldn't finish them... almost! Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Will be visiting again for sure! read more

4 and a half stars for this one. I couldn't fault my meal, garlic prawns for starters and Italian pizza for mains and finishing off with the strawberry cheese cake. Yum. My boyfriend however, didn't like the wings for his starter. The BBQ sauce Just didn't do it for him, hence the half star knocked off. Other then the wings, nothing could be faulted. read more

The Independent Pizza Company is a casual neighbourhood pizza restaurant where you can relax, chill out and enjoy yourself without feeling too worried about the size of the bill at the end! Our concept is to deliver top quality Pizza, at reasonable prices, in an unpretentious and casual setting. Our Pizza style is American - light crisp bases with traditional & contemporary topping combinations that suit all tastes. Most of our menu and, of course, all of our signature pizzas, utilise our stone pizza oven which was imported for us from Washington State in the USA. These pizza ovens are regarded as the best in the world and we believe help us create outstanding pizza bases. Our pizza dough is freshly made every day, on the premises, using just five ingredients: flour, water, yeast and small amounts of salt and sugar. All ingredients are bought in fresh & prepared in our kitchen unlike other competitors who import frozen ingredients.

Established in 1984.

The Independent Pizza Company opened in the summer of 1984 and recently celebrated 25 years in business in Drumcondra. In 2002 we moved a few doors down the road to a bigger custom built location from where we now operate.

I couldn't decide between the Bianca and the "Lucky Tom" but on the owner's suggestion, went with the Bianca, a pizza with an olive oil base, topped with tomato, mozzarella di buffalo, Parma ham, shaved park and rocket (a.k.a. Arugula). When I went to pick them up 10 minutes later, they were ready and had a lovely char from the wood fired oven. The "mini" calzone would've been more than enough for the two of us, and I wished I had ordered just that since we do not have a refrigerator in our room and have to get creative with any leftovers. Anyway both hit the spot, but there was so much cheese in the calzone o ended up having it on the crust of my pizza and there was too much rocket on the pizza, but overall a win and a nice finish to the evening before we drifted off to sleep.

This place does sell full size pizza's but comes into its own selling pizza slices. 4.00 Euro will get you a (huge) slice and a can of drink or if you are cheap like me you can skip the discounted can and just get the pizza for 3.50 Euro. Pizzas are good, filling enough for a lunch for most people and tasty enough to be enjoyed sitting on one of the concrete treepot things on talbot street while looking a bit like a hobo. It stays open pretty late too and you could do worse than hop off at Connoly station on your way into town for a night out and pick up an affordable bit of tasty soakage.
