    Insalata caprese
    Gray T.

Tries this place in a Saturday night, no reservation. Seating was available on the patio, which was enclosed and heated. Very comfortable. Friendly and accommodating service. I know this place is known for their pizza but I was craving pasta. Ordered the insalata caprese to start. Delicious. Generous portion and served with extremely tasty grilled bread. Followed that with spaghetti ai fruti di mare. Nice light flavour and very filling. I love that they serve the whole shrimp - adds the necessary flavour. Lemon panacotta for dessert. Lovely meal in a nice atmosphere. Make a reservation for a nice intimate dinner in the small dining room. They only have about 5 tables. Really nice meal. So glad I tried this place. I'll be back. Maybe pizza next time.

Amazing italian food, great atmosphere! Only started going to Mamma Mia's in the last year, didn't realise it was right beside our home...so thrilled we found it. With cute red checked table cloths and candlelights, really gives it that Italian feel and a real cosy atmosphere. Wine is especially nice too! Lovely staff and extremely helpful.

Mamma Mia pizza - pancetta (and lots of it), potato and red onion

I'm so glad we stumbled across this cute little place for lunch. It's quite small, so gets filled up quickly, but the service is equally quick. Even with a small wait we were able to order/eat/pay/get out within an hour. We were seated on their covered patio area, which had blankets on every chair. It was a warm enough day, so we didn't need them, but thought it was a nice touch! I went with the Mamma Mia pizza - loaded with pancetta, potatoes and red onion. It was delicious. Clearly cooked fresh with a nice thin crust and a very good value at €9, too. Everyone at the table was stuffed. Other tables were eating some pasta dishes which also looked really good, so I'll see about trying one of those next time (I'm already torn on that, because the pizza was so tasty!).

Pasta of the day and pasta pesto. So tasty.

I have been meaning to try mamma mias for months. Very glad I did. We went for lunch today. Not busy but that may be because of the atrocious weather. I had attempted to book but reservations are for dinner only, not lunch. We both ordered pasta. Mine with creamy sauce, sausage and broccoli. Delicious. My date had the pasta pesto. It tasted like there was an entire basil plant in the sauce. It was Beautiful. Perfectly cooked pasta too Decent portion sizes. Great value. Rounded off with a fab Italian coffee. Waiters were attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommended and I will Definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic food at a very fair price. I started with the gamberi al Brandy the prawns were exceptional fresh and succulent the sauce was also to die for. I then had the pizza margherita it was phenomenal so light crispy and fresh stunning possibly one of the nicest pizza's I've ever had . I finished with a double espresso which was perfection. Server was very friendly. All in all a fantastic meal for under €25

This is my type of food. Simple Italian food cooked really well by Italian chefs. Small but perfect.

It looked very small and normal on the outside but surprising on the inside! We've tried pizza Mamma Mia and Andriata (cannot remember the exact name for this pasta). The pizza was crispy and tasteful. The pasta was good with its tomato sauce and better with a bit chilly taste! And the price was also nice. Please consider this restaurant if you are staying in nearby hotels.

    Anti pasto buonissimo :)

Small and a bit out of the way but go find it! Pizzas are great and the mixed starter was huge and great. Thoroughly recommend!

Excellent Italian in Dublin! When you need a break from Irish food, this is the place! Very small so you need a reservation!

We walked over and you can see it was busy and a small restaurant but they luckily had availability and got us a table quickly. Once there we were given break, oil, and vinegar as well as water to enjoy as we looked over our menu. The server recommended a great wine my friend never had and we ordered an appetizer and meal. For the appetizer we ordered: Calamari in crosta and it was honestly one of the best if not best calamari I've had in a long time. It was light, crispy and not oily. Also loved that sauce they paired with it! For the main meal I ordered: Tagliatelle ai frurti de maré e bisque di gamigri Rossi. It was delicious and my friend ordered Tagliatelle al Ragu di cervo Irlandese and she said it was incredible and savored every bite. We didn't order dessert, but would absolutely pop back over when in town. The price was extremely reasonable as well! Lastly the restrooms were clean!

This place shocked me!…read more I found San Lorenzo's via Yelp, so thank you Yelpers! It is one of the few places in Dublin that takes American Express cards. So you can leave home without it when you come here When we asked if they had a table they said only if you are up from the table in an hour. We were hungry so we agreed The environment is dark and tasteful and lively The wine list is not good, but the food and the staff make up for everything The avocado and caprese salad was awesome The shrimp in wine sauce was off the charts delicious The chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto was delicious and the polenta and creamed corn were spectacular The monk fish wrapped in crispy pancetta on a bed of pesto basil was amazing To top it off we had the Nutella cheesecake with Carmel sauce and gelato with biscotti crumbs on top- this was surreal!!! All this and we were done with all the food, a bottle of wine and cappuccinos in an hour and never felt rushed If you are in the mood for Italian food, come to San Lorenzo's

The only thing worth having was the sample platter of the arancini balls. Even those were hard to distinguish which ones were which. Why I'll go back: wide variety of sauces lets you satisfy any craving…read moreYou HAVE to order: the arancini (how's that for a curveball) Tony's Tip: Given the generous portion size and wide variety of sauces, if you can do a group of 4-6 you'll be able to sample a lot more of the menu. Things I liked about Sprezzatura: - whatever you're in the mood for (marinara, carbonara, bolognese...), it's probably on the menu that night - the sauces are rich/heavy. I like, but maybe not everyone will. - generous portions - super friendly service Things I wasn't crazy about: - the finish on the table left a stickiness that was annoying as we sat through our meal - the kitchen door kept slamming shut (loudly) with every staff pass-through and needs some sort of better hinge or soft close mechanism - each pasta dish was a bit overrun with sauce. I might have soaked it up with some bread, but the amount was unnecessary for the pasta alone. We ordered three pastas dishes. I actually liked the one I didn't order the most - an amatriciana-like red sauce with a little spice. My wife enjoyed the Fettucini, Nduja and Mascarpone. The Mafaldine Cashel Blue (cheese) and Roasted Walnuts, which also had caramelized onions in it, was actually not as sweet as I expected (or wanted) it to be. What we did agree on, though, was how delicious the arancini was (we went with spicy sausage). I would lead with that...but don't get carried away. The wine choices were limited, but solid. And the price was very reasonable. I'd go back again (if I actually lived in Ireland!), mostly when I have a fix for a certain flavor. There was a lot of delivery business taking place during our visit. I suspect these sauces don't travel well (no firsthand experience with that), so dine in seems like the better call to me.
