Sliced striploin and truffle fries
Clyde C.

I ate here again for dinner last night, and I can only say that the atmosphere, food, and service were outstanding. The menu has changed but the quality and variety of food has not. We shared a plate of burger sliders with a Quinoa Salad featuring whipped Feta cheese, and of course a glass of red wine to accompany. For the main course we shared a striploin steak, sliced, and delicious truffle fries. Though we were trying to eat light in the end we were stuffed because we ordered too much and the food was so good.

I always wanted to go to this place but I was thinking to be creative and order items I usually don't order. The ambiance is very cozy and beautiful, I love the wall arts there! The server we had was nice and really helpful with choices. The drinks were crafted charmingly! I do suggest you to ask your server to offer you the spicy drinks! The beef tarter was good but I expected a bigger portion. The star of the show is the BURGER. This BURGER is definitely ONE of THE BEST BURGERS I have ever had. Even though this place has variety of steaks, I think the burger is also an AMAZING choice. Anddd, the truffle fries, Just order items even if you don't want them haha. Bravo!

This is my first time back to One Yorkville since 6 years ago. I always have high expectations in One. Located inside The Hazelton Hotel, one of the upscale hotels in the heart of Yorkville. We ordered miso black cod, 8oz grass fed tenderloin and garlic mushroom. I would put 3.5 to 4 stars for One Yorkville, the reason being is the side order mushroom. Both mains are great, but not wow. The side order mushroom can taste the burning. It is definitely not executed properly. The chef must forget the mushroom, it is way overcooked and burnt. Overall, I am pleased with the black cod, one of the best in Toronto. Only if I would want to have the cod again, or else I might not come back.

I have been excited to try this restaurant for quite some time now, no matter what time of the day it is, they are very busy! The reviews are awesome plus they definitely aren't cheap so I was extra excited to come try. Firstly - mid summer afternoon time is not a time a restaurant should turn off their cooling system. The bar area was full of people and the air was stale and smelled like sweat. There are so many flies, big AND small. Once the food arrived, I was constantly trying to protect my food and at one point my hand came in contact with the fly. It was disgusting and I was afraid to leave my food unattended to go wash my hand in the washroom. Once my party and I were seated, we were left unattended for an uncomfortably long time, probably around 10 minutes. This was when they asked if we wanted water and discovered that half the table setting wasn't even ready. Service continued to be just okay - even your local diner is better. The main indoor seating area looks beautiful and the food is great - but $75 for black cod, $23 for plain Caesar I was expecting a better experience. I really sure hope some of those little flies didn't end up in my food though.

Came for late sunday brunch. Pancakes were amazing. Didnt get a pic. Tacos were juicy and delicious. Beet salad was small-ish. Over all food is top notch. Little issue is flies and bees and bugs that even come inside. Had to shoo and sadly kill one which came and sat on my kid's head.

(Nov 18, 2019 - Catching up on reviews)- Wow! That is all I can say. But I'll say more. This is absolute perfection in a restaurant. Awesome food. Great service. Perfect ambiance. And Linda. Can't say enough about Marc McEwan's vision and his One restaurant. This is what all good restaurants should be. Parking: NA. Service: 5/5. Presentation: 5/5. Ambience: 5/5. We were staying at the Hazelton hotel and decided to try this place out. The place was always busy so we made reservations through our hotel. We got the option to sit in the front or under the awning. We chose awning because the front was to crowded. Even were I was sitting my chair kept getting knocked. The outside seating was huge but the tables are very close to each other. This was a Saturday at 3:30. The service was very good. We wanted a light meal so we chose the Chicken chopped salad. We ordered extra dressing on the side. It was definitely a perfect choice. Also tried the sangria which was really good! Definitely will come back.

I'm an avid believer in treating yoself, and what better way than a visit to this Yorkville staple! I love how their menu items are generally consistent and they have a gorgeous patio with brunch options as well. For this occasion we ordered: Mini lamb chops: These were actually delicious and cooked to perfection, topped with a souvlaki marinade, tzatziki and lemon Grilled scallops "carbonara", this was essentially a grilled scallop with a creamy sauce, it was good but I was expecting something different due to the name Lobster spoons: These were dissapointing as the lobster was overcooked and the amount of butter was a bit much/heavy Yellowfin tuna sashimi: Taste wise it was just okay, I felt the tuna wasn't that high quality and the flavor profiles were lacking a bit Truffle fries: topped with parmesean and truffle aoili, these were crispy and well seasoned and actually to die for, not to mention the actual shaved truffle pieces ontop Steak tartare: This was good and the crostini was perfect sized and slightly toasted Oysters: served in the classic way with mignonette, horseradish and cocktail sauce, they were fresh and not fishy 400 OZ Tomahawk: This was cooked to medium-rare perfection. And I love how they included a side of bone marrow cause YUM The service is also fantastic, ambiance great and decor modern. Most of the items we had were good, and I would recommend giving it a try for a special occasion (or no occasion at all )

This was my third time here and it never disappoints! I will definitely be coming back. The servers are always so great and attentive. They are quick to resolve any issues as well. The truffle fries are definitely the star of the meal. They are the best truffle fries I have ever tried. The garlic aioli they are paired with are also amazing. The lobster spoons were also a stand out. They are delicious and perfectly buttery. The hummus and the vegetables tasted so fresh. Oysters are also amazing. Not my favourite place for them and they are on the expensive side, but they were fresh and perfectly shucked.

My favorite spot in Yorkville! Me and my friend decided to visit last week and was elated to see that they have tents and a whole bunch of heaters to keep everyone warm. They kept everyone socially distanced as well. My favorite is their tuna sashimi but I thought I'd try something else instead. I ordered the Korean chicken tacos and a side of truffle fries. I've been really into Moscow mules so I got their mocktail version and added alcohol to it (it was so good!). Defiantly will be visiting again soon before winter comes!

Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

The other noodle dishes I've tried from here have been consistently good as well. They let you select what noodle thickness you like, and I think the thick flat noodles were too big for me, I was making a fool out of myself trying to slurp them all up ! I recommend getting medium ones so sauce doesn't splash all over you like what happened to me! A great, affordable meal option.

They pride in using fresh and local ingredients served creatively, and always with new ideas and dishes with the tasting menu changing constantly to match what's in season. Some of the dishes really emphasized the freshness and the quality of the ingredients, showcased in our starting dish of asparagus, egg confit, cure pork and leeks. The salt was minimal, and it tasted so clean, fresh, and well put together. Paneer with makhni was also included playing heavily on the delicious Indian flavors that were so full of umami taste, I could not believe this dish did not have meat. The chicken was one of my favorites with a smoked butter sauce. I could not believe white meat could be this tender and moist and absorb flavor so well. The fish was also great, as was the dessert, a rhubarb tiramisu to give a tangy contrast to the mascarpone cream. This was tasting menu #248, and the menu will change about every 2 weeks it seems like, which is amazing. Finally, I loved that explicitly state that tips are not accepted despite the amazing service and elevated food. I definitely would want to come back again, knowing there's a lot more creative ideas to try in different dishes while having a very solid cooking foundation.

We didn't receive our drinks until 30 minutes after being seated during which we received the salad we ordered. The duck was great but I wasn't a fan of the pasta I ordered as it more on the salty side. I would have to say my favorite dish was the Brussel sprout salad - super fresh and tasty. We've never had British food, so this was definitely a unique experience. The ambiance was very mysterious, with the dim lighting and wooden decor. I thought it was very nice for dates specifically, and the little candle on the tables was a nice touch. They had a few booth seats and regular seats. We ordered a steak pie, along with a tofu and eggplant Thai curry. They were both very delicious and filling. The Thai curry was bursting with spices and flavours that I haven't experienced in any other dish, and I loved it. The steak pie was not my order, but from what I was told, it was very stuffed, included various textures and was full of flavour. Them, we got an aperol spritz and beer. The aperol was very delicious, and i'm super glad since this is only my second time trying one so I was nervous i'd be let down. It had a very orange, tangy twist. The beer came in a really fun looking cup, so that gave us a good laugh. The service was great, our waitress was very kind and answered and questions we had about the food. We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!

But after a long day and an even busier evening, I got back to the hotel famished. My brain was incapable of processing decisions and when I saw how busy this corner of the Sheraton was, I decided this was it. I grabbed a seat at the bar, ordered a drink, and listened to a podcast to wind down. It was exactly what I needed. The drink, Nutty Times, was not only delicious but the presentation was exciting too. The bartender was witty, he advised everyone near us at the bar to whip out our phones, because he was about to put on a show. Check out the video I added! After a while, my anxiety from the day began to wear off and it was time to eat. I asked if I was able to take it up to my room as a to-go order and they said that was no-go. Something about the presentation and how you had to be there for it. I don't know about that. I ordered the Atlantic salt cod (fried cod balls) and while they were super good, the presentation left me thinking, "I could have totally eaten this in my giant robe in bed." Regardless, I enjoyed every bite. I did end up getting approval to take my dessert to-go. This made me very happy. My first impression honestly made me wonder if it was really worth all the praise. By the end of the meal, I had my answer. Arugula Caprese Insalata A creative take on a classic Caprese salad. Arugula replaces basil, while a rich Parmesan cream stands in for fresh mozzarella, giving the dish a deeper, more savory profile without losing the freshness of the tomatoes. The balsamic balances the arugula's slight bitterness beautifully, and the juicy tomatoes cut through the richness of the cream. Fried capers add a pleasant burst of Mediterranean saltiness at the end. Simple ingredients, thoughtfully combined. Chicken Scarpariello This was easily the highlight of the meal. The chicken skin was beautifully seasoned and roasted until fragrant. Instead of being overly juicy, the meat was incredibly tender, with a faint blush of pink at the center. The Italian sausage had a firm, satisfying bite and a rich meaty flavor. I rarely describe roasted potatoes as "melt-in-your-mouth," but these truly were. The sauce, made with white wine, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, was so flavorful that I ended up using bread to wipe the plate clean--and still wished there had been more bread. Italian Love Cake A layered dessert of chocolate cake, ricotta cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. Each layer offered a different texture: the mousse was smooth without feeling heavy, the cake slightly dry, and the ricotta layer pleasantly crumbly. The texture was more memorable than the flavor, but it was surprisingly light to finish despite being a chocolate dessert. Tiramisu Although it's priced at $19.50, the portion is generous--about one and a half times the size of a typical tiramisu. The mascarpone was silky, rich, and pleasantly creamy with a touch of sweetness. The ladyfingers were well soaked with espresso and carried a subtle hint of liqueur. It tasted like a textbook tiramisu: everything was executed correctly, even if it wasn't particularly surprising. Many years from now, I may no longer remember the wildfire that day--but I'll probably still remember this chicken.
