Scallop - Two scallops are served in their natural shells on a black, round plate. The scallops are garnished with herbs and a sauce, with one shell containing a single scallop and the other containing two. The table includes a glass of water, a glass of wine, a partially eaten dessert, and other dishes, indicating a dining setting.

We tried the 6-dish experience with dessert and wine. The place was lovely. They caught both an elegant and warm ambiance. However, it felt too loud. Not sure if what can be done about it. Food was nice, I specially enjoyed Ikura Latke and scallop - Scallop was the best I ever had. Staff was kind too. They were a bit late to greet us and start with water, waited a bit at the table but it was crowded. After that however, he was attentive and kind. I thought the menu could be planned better like a composition, but still each dish was delicious. Overall, a good to have experience.

We came for Summerlicious, but the $89 tasting menu at SARA quickly stole the show. Some dishes leaned a little salty for my taste, but overall, the variety and quality made for a really satisfying meal. Highlights from the tasting menu: * Chopped salad: this might be one of the best salads I've had this year. It's giving fresh, balanced, flavour-packed. * Bay scallop: My second favorite dish here. The cauliflower crema was silky smooth, the yuzu relish added a gentle brightness, and the chicken crackling gave it that nice crunch. * Argentinian shrimp: delicious on its own, but that tandoori carrot purée? Chef's kiss. * Wagyu reuben: their most recommended dish, though a bit salty for me. Other bites like the NY striploin, tuna tartare, hamachi sashimi, and latke with ikura were also beautifully done. And we ended on a sweet note with their profiterole. All in all, great food, lovely space, and amazing service. I definitely see myself coming back just for the chopped salad ehehe.

I've gone for the tasting menu twice with different groups, and both times I had a fantastic experience and everybody in my party agreed. Right off the bat, this is a beautiful restaurant. The decor from the tables to the bars to the chairs are all gorgeous. The tables have small little pockets to put your phones, which we didn't use, but found it charming. The service time has been very friendly. They were able to chat with us without making it feel forced, and they did a great job explaining the menu and our options. And the food was delicious. I think it's a fair to generous portion size for the price, especially given the tasting menu format. There are no misses, every dish is designed and executed well. Highlights for me include the Reuben sandwich and the latke. And especially for a tasting menu, this is one that you will certainly not leave hungry. The final protein course always fills you up. Definitely worth a visit!

We came here to try their 7-course tasting menu on a Wednesday ($65/person). The regular tasting menu is $95/person on other nights. The staff are very friendly and responsive; we got to try some of the cocktails the bartender had been creating, before they appeared on the menu. And they were AMAZING! Our 7-course meal included Ikura Latke, Chopped Salad, Wgyu Reuben, Brussel Sprouts, Fried Chicken and Shrimp . We ended one a sweet note with Profiteroles (cream puffs with salted caramel, pecan and dulce de leche). Everything was fresh and tasted amazing.

Visited twice for their tasting menu - once the full version and once for the condensed version. Favourites were the salad and the brussel sprouts! Definitely a must try. Least favourites were their protein options... could definitely use some improvement: - fried chicken (it was just regular ole fried chicken) - the steak frites (accompanying sauces were quite plain and too thin... the fries were overdone) - wagyu reuben (underwhelming) Drinks are super strong! Service was great! Ambiance is cute however, the seats by the window are reaaaalllly cold because of the draft during the winter. (Unfortunately it's actually cold enough where you'll want to wear your winter coat!)

We tried the journey tasting menu as a larger group on a weekday evening. Right off the bat, our jackets were taken to coat check and we were told there are storage spaces integrated within the table to store our phones if we wish to be device-free. The interior is cozy and has cave elements such as the textured curved walls and dark ambiance. I ordered a cocktail called The Flip since the ingredients sounded lovely together, but unfortunately was served a small glass with mostly foam (and maybe 2 mL of liquid). The small sip I did taste was yummy, but I wish there was more of it for $16. For appetizers, we started off with cheese pastry bites and ikura latke with salmon roe. Both were very savoury but quite tiny in size. We were also served tuna tartare topped with shaved truffle and house-made potato chips. The truffle was addicting and made the tartare a standout dish, while the chips were extremely crispy. The chopped salad was one of the best salads I've had, coming from someone who doesn't typically eat a lot of vegetables. It came with cashews and wasabi peas which added a nice crunch, as well as a delicious dressing. For the next course, we had the wagyu reuben which was okay, but had a strong sauerkraut flavour that I'm not a fan of. It was also very salty, so I wouldn't have been able to eat a bigger portion than what was served. The fried chicken was super crispy and juicy, served with a tangy harissa hot sauce and doused with a creamy dill labneh. The sauces added so much more depth to the chicken. For the NY striploin, the whisky jus was great, but the béarnaise sauce made it exceptional. The brussel sprouts (served with walnut, pomegranate, and feta) was tasty, but crispy to the point where the texture was similar to flakey chips. I would have preferred if they didn't cook them as much so there was still a bite to them. For dessert, we had the profiterole stuffed with mexican chocolate (has a bit of a kick) and served with wild rice candy. The chocolate was dark and therefore not too sweet, just perfect. Our plates were cleared away between courses. Bonus shoutout to the gorgeous bathrooms with smart toilets equipped with heated seats, a bidet, and automatic opening/closing of the seats.

Fried chicken - A plate features fried chicken pieces topped with dollops of sour cream and sprinkled with spices. The dish is garnished with slices of cucumber and served with a sauce on a white plate. The background shows a bar counter with glasses and bottles, indicating a restaurant setting.

3.5/5 We had a mixed experience at Sara. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we had to wait about fifteen minutes to be seated. We did the high table which is just the bar and it's a bit cramped back there ( I bumped into the person next to me a couple times). It took about an hour from reservation time until we got our first appetizers. However, the servers and service was stellar and everyone was kind. Onto the food. We ordered the wagyu Reuben (FANTASTIC) and salmon latkas (also good). They make the bread for the Reuben in house. For the main we had the halibut and fried chicken. Halibut was good, and the fried chicken was cooked well but not as exceptional as I'd heard. Overall we had a decent time and enjoyed what we ate.

Came here for Winterlicious 2025. The restaurant has two floors however is a bit on the smaller side. Definitely will want to make reservations ahead of time. A fun fact about their tables, they have a compartment in the middle of the table for people to put their phones. This is great if you want people to be in the moment instead of on their phones. With our Winterlicious menu, we also got the Ikura Latkes. This was absolutely delicious and felt like it was elevated Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Crackers. For the appetizers we got the Ahi Tuna Tartare. This tastes amazing with its truffle flavours. We also got the Wagyu Reuben was also great and really resembled a Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich. For the main dishes we got the Argentinian Shrimp, not very much was remembered (all I remember was that it was good ) as this dish was eclipsed by the Fried Chicken. The Fried Chicken is by far the best I have ever had. Chicken was very juicy, breading was very soft, and paired with the sauces it was just absolutely amazing. The portions were huge as well and I could barely get myself to finish it all. To finish, for deserts we got the Profiterole and Sara Mess. Both desserts were delicious and very light to finish our meals.

Yum! SARA was a cool spot. Had the tasting menu on a Wednesday and all the dishes were tasty (and I believe it was discounted). I really enjoyed the appetizer and also felt like the dishes were well curated. Will be back!

We loved our dinner here last night! The second you step in, the ambiance is so gorgeous and tranquil and puts you in a great place to step away from the day to day and enjoy a great meal. The tables have a little cubby where you can put your phone away. I loved this bc it was so intentional and helps remove distractions. Now onto the food - I loved all the different dishes we tried! We had 6 dishes and were stuffed at the end of our meal. I especially recommend the ikura latkes, chopped salad, and profiteroles. The service was great! Attentive and friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit here especially for a date night!

AMBIANCE | Celebrated a friend's birthday here. Vibes are vibing indoors, it's like minimalist/Scandinavian? There are 2 separate dining floors and the washrooms are in the basement (washrooms are really nice too lol). FOOD | We ordered a bunch of foods to share, including the chopped salad, tuna tartare, barbecued lamb, eggplant, fried chicken, and blackened bass. Highlights were definitely chopped salad and blackened bass -- chopped salad has so many ingredients that complement each other really well and blackened bass was so nicely charred and the lemon juice over top was such a nice touch. SERVICE | Our server was really nice and attentive, and we were able to bring in a cake for our friend! He was able to portion off our foods and often came around to check on us. VERDICT | Don't know if it's a restaurant you make a habit of visiting, but I think it'll be nice to eat out at once in a while/for a special occasion.

A bit of a letdown to have dined here. I expected a larger menu, and better service from this restaurant which appeared on the Michelin website. Considering I had numerous email communications with the restaurant prior to arrival and made the reservation months in advance for my wife's birthday, it was disappointing the management didn't see fit to save a nice table for us. Our server Doug was more interested in socializing with the table of 4 women seated next to us, and he only appeared twice following taking our order. Food was flavorful. But nothing exotic. As other have stated, "Nothing stood out." Drinks totaled $97 and food was $122.

The decor is so unique in this restaurant. If you want a lively, picturesque yet dim atmosphere this is your place. Food highlights are definitely the latkes and wagyu reuben. They are a fan favorite and must-have. My reservation was for bar seating and our bartender was really informative about the menu. It took 15 minutes for my party to be seated even with us having a reservation.

We were seated very promptly, and our server took care to attend to my friend's allergy. She even asked to change my friend's cutlery when another server brought the wrong salad. My appetizer was a hot-smoked salmon pâté, which was ok by itself, but eaten with the pickles gave it that taste I wouldn't forget. I chose for my main the Petit Roast Dinner; the cut was excellent, full of flavour and juicy to boot. The gravy for said cut just brought the roast to another level. The sides were delicious as well, especially the crispiness of the potatoes. A clean plate was the end result! Finally to finish the meal, I chose the chocolate banoffee cheesecake - I never pass on any cheesecake when it's offered. And it didn't disappoint! The banana brûlée was an interesting touch, while having toffee sauce drizzled on the cheesecake was a first (and not definitely last) for me! All in all, it was a nice introduction to The Rabbit Hole, and I can't wait to go down there again!

Now, if this were a taqueria, I would not be impressed with the tacos. So if you are expecting "proper" tacos, don't order them. Go to a taqueria, lol. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I grabbed a seat at the bar, ordered a drink, and listened to a podcast to wind down. It was exactly what I needed. The drink, Nutty Times, was not only delicious but the presentation was exciting too. The bartender was witty, he advised everyone near us at the bar to whip out our phones, because he was about to put on a show. Check out the video I added!
