Snapper ceviche
Kevin P.

Surprised this place wasn't busier because we had a wonderful time! Cocktails were excellent -- especially the You Only Live Twice, a must if you like gin or vodka. For apps we tried the Snapper Ceviche and the Smoked Trout Croquettes. The ceviche was fresh and bright, but the croquettes stole the show -- don't miss them! We both had the Salmon Curry with green chili, rice, garbanzo, and green papaya slaw. Absolutely delicious and beautifully plated. Service was great, and sitting outside on a beautiful night made it even better. Parking was easy in the Edge Apartments garage. We'll definitely be back! Oh they get extra points for having Uncle Nearest!

Salmon

We arrived toward the of dinner. The food and ambiance were nice. I was shocked that they didn't have a crowd. I ordered a steak fish that was very flavorful, my husband had the salmon and he enjoyed it. We both shared the devil egg appetizer it was okay. I would go back again!

Apricot mimosa
Shanelle S.

Visited on a Sunday for brunch. Ordered the mango apricot mimosa. It was really good and they also added a little rum which was a good twist. For my meal I ordered the breakfast burger. It came with bacon jam, fried egg, cheese and a few other toppings. There was a side of hashbrowns and a truffle ketchup. Everything about this burger and the hashbrowns were perfect. The burger was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of sweet and savory. The truffle ketchup added a really good flavor to the hashbrowns . The server was extremely attentive and made sure to answer any questions we had. I enjoyed my visit and my meal, and definitely look forward to trying more. SN. The online menu hasn't yet been updated so many of the food options available now aren't shown online yet. They've pretty much redone the entire menu.

Deviled eggs and duck flatbread
Victoria B.

Overall, not bad but don't need to go back. It's definitely a place to go if you like to try new fusion flavors. Food- Deviled eggs: the highlight by far. It was unique and the combo worked very well. The filling was flavorful, mostly traditional, but well seasoned. We got bacon jam and tuna poke with them and I was surprised how well the tuna worked with the egg. It also comes with curry salt, radishes, and crispy onions. So good! Fabulous flavors, came with 8 egg halves. The duck flatbread: Good but the duck didn't shine. If I am ordering duck I want to taste it and it was covered by the cheese and arugula. It still tasted good, but very expensive for a standard flat bread. Schezwan Short Ribs: Very flavorful, spicy but not intolerable. The only challenge was the pesto sauce- without that the ribs were delicious. The coconut rice balls were crispy and you really taste the coconut. I liked this dish but I don't need it again. The dragon roll: It was ok - felt pretty standard but it was fresh. Drinks- Wine: really good selection of Pinots! the cucumber Collins: we had two and they were made vey differently. One was way sweeter and harder to drink. Grow a pear: really good reminiscent of a lychee martini. Service: Very attentive and kind Atmosphere: Upscale but it's on the beltline so it felt more casual Parking: We walked but I know there is a paid garage nearby The only other odd thing worth mentioning is that they were out of strange staples so we adapted, but they have a small menu as is so it felt strange. All that to say, fine experience but I don't need to go back.

Duck Flatbread!
David G.

Lovely location on the Beltline, with a parking deck right by it which is convenient. The patio is lovely, the inside nice. We sat outside which is the way to go weather permitting. The food is great! I really enjoyed duck flatbread was a unique fusion, with the smoky duck morsels making their way through the cheese and arugula. The service was the one thing holding this back from five stars, and they just felt a little understaffed. All the staff were very nice and efficient when available, they just weren't always there

Pork Belly Bowl

I was so excited to come here. I've been to the airport location, and it stands up as the best restaurant I've ever been to at an Airport. I saw their brunch menu, while a bit pricey it looked creative and delicious. Thought I could find another secret brunch spot. The day we were there was hardly anyone there at 11. I expected this though. It was early and you don't go to OFS for brunch. Our server was awesome and the GM Nash is an absolute gem. Can't pick a much more charming GM than him. I also like the look and feel of the restaurant. Seems a bit modern Japanese interior. The food just fell flat and was a bit pricey. I know the location and rent is probably a bit high so hence the high prices. We had the Shrimp N Grits Croquettes, Pork Belly Bowl and Rice Pudding. The pork belly bowl was probably the best, it's solid and you can't go wrong. My wife got the Rice Pudding, and while pretty she wasn't a fan. My croquettes were just not good. The green sauce paired awfully with the croquettes. It would be a decent sauce for steak or pork, but not the croquettes. It tasted like a chimichurri cilantro sauce. I'm sure you could imagine that in your shrimp and grits. I tried to avoid it, but the croquettes sat on top of them so it was tough to avoid. And the tomato remoulade on top didn't have much taste. Inside wasn't that great either. Inside was just bland. Nash, and the service are 5 stars. The food was a 3. Beautiful presentation but lacking an excellent taste. I won't be back for brunch, but would try again for dinner. So take this review of their brunch not their dinner. Bottom line a pricey brunch that lacks great taste, but excellent service.

Side of Grits

Amazing experience from start to finish! Book was easy on Open Table. Parking is on the street or in an attached garage. This is very close to my office and we saw them on "High on the Hog" as a feature on the history of African-American food and food styles so I had to try it. I had lunch with my brother here today. Our waiter, Aiden, was so nice and attentive. He was a source of knowledge about the portion sizes per the menu. We met the General Manager, Mr. Nash, who was very kind, personable, and was a great conversationalist. This spot focuses as a cohesive team and I'm delighted it is also Black-owned and operated. I love the Southern take on Asian-theme foods, which are combining my two favorite genres of food. We started with the Croquettes, which were shrimp and grits services over Chimichurri sauce and they come three to an order. They were stupendous. I had the Egg Foo Young, as the traditional is one of my favorite Chinese food dishes. The gravy, the rice, the egg, the country ham, and the greens all meshed together was nearly orgasmic. Eat bite was a different and pleasurable experience. I had a side of grits with it. Everything is cooked from scratch but the food turnaround time is very reasonable and we didn't have a long wait at all. I highly recommend One Flew South. I will definitely be returning.

Thank you to One Flew South for making last night one-of-a-kind for us. My husband and I had what will probably be our last date night for a while, as our first baby is due in just a few days. My husband's birthday is Feb 14th (and Valentine's Day), so we had a triple celebration. The food was phenomenal, some things we've never seen anywhere else -- we had the bourbon glazed turkey wing, trout croquettes with chorizo aioli, the dragon roll, the beet salad, and the lamb ribs. We also had mocktail versions of the Sweet Georgia Brown. The service was fantastic -- our waitress and the manager, Nash, were kind, checked in often, and made the experience all the more better. So glad we chose One Flew South for our last hoorah before baby. 10/10 recommend. Thanks, once again!

"Grow a Pear" and "Arrival Time" cocktails

We came here late on a Friday night, it was one of the few nice places on the beltline that still had an open kitchen past 10pm. Not many patrons were there, so the staff was not busy or rushing around. The bartender was very friendly and joking with us before we were seated. After we placed our order, the manager (Nash? I think) came to our table and introduced himself. He was very down to earth - chatted with us for a few minutes when we found out we were all from the same hometown. The menu has a fair amount of variety because there are many unique dishes. But let me tell you something. The duck flatbread has a crazy flavor profile. I took a bite and my whole face lit up because I tasted EVERYTHING. I couldn't figure out what it was that kept lighting up my tastebuds at first. I realized on my last 3 bites that it was the fig! Bruh. I don't even eat figs because why. But when I tell you it really sets off this flatbread! You have to try it. Best thing on the menu. Great ambience. Dope playlist. Super personable staff. Will definitely come back.

The Golden Ticket cocktail
Tirrell C.

More people need to know about One Flew South on the Beltline because, honestly, it's criminal how chill it was for a weekend. Like, where is everyone?? This place is a James Beard-nominated gem with vibes for days and cocktails that'll have you questioning every other bar you've been to. The Golden Ticket alone--Uncle Nearest whiskey, Canton ginger, lemon, and agave is reason enough to go. It's smooth, balanced, and just plain delicious in a coupe glass. Plus, the whole "Asia meets the South" menu is wild in the best way possible. If you're looking for a spot to flex on your friends or just sip something amazing in peace, this is it. Let's not sleep on this place, Atlanta!

Kobe burger
Lauren O.

We had a great dinner here. The menu is unique and interesting and feels like a nicer place without being too expensive. We tried the limited Kobe burger. Delicious. We ended up sitting outside on the patio not inside. The servers were good but a little slower which is the only reason we rated 4 instead of 5

the front of the building

An amazing place to brunch! My aunt and I stumbled in from a beltline stroll right after the lunch hour but the host graciously allowed table seating over their bar seating. This was the first sign we found a magical place. Shortly after being seated we were greeted by the manager who is the most charming and well put together southern gentleman. He provided the history (which we inquired) and the african amercian roots of the restaurant. Now, we knew we were home! The menu boasts many twists to traditional cuisine as it's a fusion of asian and soul. I was in heaven with the soy ginger turkey wing! You must experience this place for yourself to feel the magic- see the sophistication and be catered to as the staff show their love for what they do in service. I would have taken more pictures but the upscale ambiance and sophistication made me feel a little embarrassed to be snapping away- I just wanted to enjoy the moment. I highly recommend dinner reservations to experience a larger menu selection.

GRILLED SHORT RIBS "SZECHUAN STYLE"
Maleah G.

Wow. As much hype as this restaurant gets--it deserves every bit of it. The overall experience is phenomenal. The food? Perfect. Service? Stellar. Ambiance and vibe? Top tier. But back to the food...it's on another level of delicious. We ordered: - Grilled short ribs: This dish deserves an award (if not yet received). The flavor...the pairing with the coconut rice cakes...this plate is award-winning and deserves its flowers. - Kobe burger: Another phenomenal option. So simple, yet so intricately detailed. From the wasabi mayo to the perfectly grilled patty...and the pickled tomato really sets it aside from other burger types/ flavors. - Mocktail and a cocktail: Nothing to say here other than great drinks with our meal. Not pictured: Stone ground grits: *Chef's kiss* perfect! 4/5 stars because we waited extremely long for our meal to arrive. But our server and the host checked on us throughout that time and were very attentive. We'll be going back...regularly.

The blackened salmon was cooked perfectly--seasoned just right with a great sear, sitting over those potatoes that soaked up all that flavor. And the Georgia Peach (chicken & waffles)? Next level. The waffle was light but still had that crisp, the chicken was seasoned and fried perfectly, and that peach topping with the powdered sugar... yeah, it didn't stand a chance. Everything hit. Service, food, vibe--no misses. Definitely one of the best breakfast/brunch spots in Atlanta. We'll be back, no question.

We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

Title: Flavor Explosion, Soulful Hospitality & a Last-Minute Meal That Turned Magical…read more Let me just say this: what started as a "quick bite before closing" turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at The Poach Social about 20 minutes before closing, unsure if we'd be rushed--but instead, we were welcomed with warmth and ease. Lived the ambiance. Hunter, our server, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel taken care of from the very start. Then came Victor, the owner and chef--and this is where things shifted from good to special. Without us even asking, he recommended a mocktail that felt like it was made just for me: a sorrel-based drink layered with ginger, spice, herbs, and fresh fruit. It was refreshing, balanced, and honestly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've had. We started with the jerk egg rolls... and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were clapping after the first bite. Crispy, juicy, flavorful, with a sweet-spicy sauce that just worked. We immediately knew we'd be taking more to go. For the main course, we ordered the Poach Social breakfast plate and the blackened salmon with polenta. The breakfast plate was comforting and well-executed, but the salmon dish? Absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with creamy polenta and a rich sauce that brought everything together. It was a full-on flavor experience. The timing of everything--from drinks to apps to entrées--was seamless. Hunter checked in at the perfect moments, never too much, never too little. We ended up in a lovely conversation with Victor, who is not only talented but genuinely kind and passionate. He brought us complimentary slices of carrot cake, and even though we were already full... we ate every bite. No regrets. It was phenomenal. What I loved most is that this place doesn't just serve food--it creates an experience. There's intention, care, and heart behind everything. If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go. This place deserves to thrive. We will absolutely be back.
