My girlfriends phone needed a new screen on black friday and I went to 2 other places that were closed. I found the shop just driving around. I went in and was greeted, the guy gave me an estimate, let me know he would call me if there was any delay or more parts were needed and would try his best to get it done in one day but most likely would be the next day. I didn't have a case on my Iphone 5, dropped it, and for the first time in 5 years, my screen broke. I stopped by the Apple Store & they wouldn't replace the screen because the frame was dented. They don't fix frames and without fixing the dent, they said the screen would break again. They offered me a new Iphone 5 replacement for $279. A friend suggested I take it to a Cell Phone repair because many of these places could fix frames & screens. I called around & OnCallers had a $150 promo for a new screen/glass. I asked the person if they could fix the dent & they confident replied, it wouldn't be an issue. They did this kind of work all the time and it would be included in the $150. The price sounded reasonable & they offered a 3 month warranty. I brought dropped off my phone and returned an hour later. When I returned, my phone appeared to be repaired, however there was a soft spot in the upper right portion of the screen. When you pushed on the screen, it flexed, almost like a bubble. I could tell they made some adjustments to the frame & everything worked, so I took the phone. After all, this was the first time my Iphone ever broke and I was just happy I didn't have to spend $279 on a new phone. Just to be safe, I bought a case to protect my phone. One week later, I was at work and made a cell phone call and the phone was fine. I had to go to another floor & new my phone would cut out in the elevator, so I put the phone in the same front jean pocket as I always have for 5 years. Note the pocket was empty. A few minutes later, I arrived at my destination, pulled out my phone, and was surprised to see a cracked screen in the exact location where the screen flexed/bubble was. I did not drop it nor did I run into anything. I'm not sure how it broke, but I wasn't upset, because I had a 3 month warranty. Surely this would be covered because there wasn't any negligence on my behalf. I have no idea what caused it to break, but I'm very confident it was a faulty installation because I have NEVER broken a phone before, there was no impact, and the crack happened it the soft spot of the phone that did not exist before I brought it in for repair. I came back the next day & they wouldn't fix my phone. After arguing with the manager, he offered me 10%. I explained I did not break the phone, but they insisted I was lying because their phone repair was fine. I ended up getting them to give me the replacement for $120, but I think it should have been free. If they weren't so confident they could replace the phone & fix the dent, I would not have paid to get the screen replaced. I ended up spending $270 to get two screens replaced and I'm still very nervous it will break again. They second screen appears to be installed better because there are no bubbles/soft spots, however I could have gone to apple & paid an additional $9 and I would have been upgraded to a 5C it would have been new. I'm really hoping this screen lasts. I would not recommend OnCallers for any repair they has any dents. If all you need is screen, maybe they could do it, but look around at other options. These people seem shady and do not stand behind their work. read more

This place was incredibly rude to me. They had fixed my daughter's iphone screen recently. It cracked again and i brought it back. They told me the last place to fix it had put in a cheap screen and had broken the phone. They were the last place to fix it. The phone was working when I brought it in and was not working when I got it back. They also did not take my phone number so I had to call them to get any information. They were incredibly rude, broke my phone, admitted the last work they did was crappy, and threatened to sue me when I told them I would leave a review. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Worst customer service I have ever had. I don't understand how they think they can treat people like that. read more

My phone would not make a good connection with the charger, so I took it in to inquire about a repair.They told me Samsung no longer made charging ports for my Galaxy 3 phone and offered to sell me all sorts of expensive gizmos as an alternative. They also offered to plug in my phone to tell me if the charger worked for a mere $30.00. What the heck did they think I came in for repairs on in the first place? I guess they hoped I was born yesterday. I ended up taking the phone elsewhere and after an hour they had resodered the port and the phone now charges perfectly. read more

Paid over $100 to have a cracked screen on my iPhone fixed. The replacement screen was not attached properly - the glass comes off when I take the phone out of its case. Also, they deleted some apps without asking me if it was okay and changed the OS so Siri no longer works. Basically, I paid over $100 to have my phone wrecked. read more

I have left a review on FB in the past but have had to visit again as a friend of mine could not get her iPhone repaired in Waukegan... I promised her, based on my past experience with the staff at this store, that I could take it somewhere where it would be tended to and at an OK price too. Short story... I was totally correct. They took the iPhone that just would not charge at all and promised to look into it for free, found the problem, called me and courteously offered a fix and a price to do so, I agreed and they did just what they promised for exactly the price they offered. My friend was beside herself with joy and I was glad to have had OnCallERS as a resource to share with someone not fortunate enough to have them near enough to know about... If you need help and you live elsewhere, do yourself a favor and take the trip to six corners in Chicago. I can personally guarantee that your efforts will be rewarded. read more

Avoid these scammers at all costs. My wife broke her iPhone 6's screen last year. Took it in to this place to get fixed. They fixed it. But less than a month later, the screen started to come apart. Apparently, they didn't use enough glue. Just before I was going to bring it back to them to fix it, my wife breaks it again. When I took it to them to fix it, and mentioned the screen coming off, they said it was from being dropped. Which is not true at all. Whatever, I told them just to fix the screen again. Since it needed to be fixed anyway. That was the entire conversation. A few weeks after they fixed it (again), the screen was coming apart, again. This time, it was acting erratic. She couldn't slide to unlock sometimes. Other times, it just selects to run random apps. So I took it back in to get it fixed. When I handed it to the clerk, and explained the situation, he took it and said, the frame is bent. I took the phone to see for myself, and sure enough, it was bent. He right away checked our account and said that I was informed on my last visit that the frame was bent. Which is on absolute lie!!! If I had been informed the last visit, then I would have instructed to fix it. As I told him this, he very rudely said that this info was detailed in the invoice I signed. First of all, the last visit I came in for, I came in for a broken screen. There was no mention of a bent frame. I don't care what the invoice says. No matter. I told him to go ahead and fix it and he said it would continue to come unglued due to the bent frame. Upset, I just left. I went to Apple and they wouldn't fix a bent frame. But right away they noticed that a third party repaired the screen. So they said they won't even touch it since third party places like Oncallers doesn't use Apple license parts and thereby voids any warranty. They would have covered it had I not taken it to Oncallers. He further said that places like Oncallers are nototious for being the ones to bend the frame trying to repair the screens. Also, Apple only charges $109, while Oncallers charges $120. So, leason to be learned, deal with a legitimate place, not a place like Oncallers. Especially the one on Six Corners. I then went to Best Buy to purchase a new phone. When I told them why I needed a new phone, the clerk right away saw that the screen was not an official Apple screen and knew I took it to a third party place. And said places like Oncallers have a tendency to bent the frames while repairing the screen. That's two places saying the same thing. This isn't proof that Oncallers is the one to bend the frame. But when two separate places say the same thing, then maybe it's for a reason. I know they'll (Oncallers) just argue that it's my own since it was on the invoice. Or I should have checked the invoice. But there was no reason for me to check the invoice. I brought it in for a broken screen and that's it. If only I had gone to more a reputable place, maybe I wouldn't have been ripped by Oncallers. Please, please avoid this place. read more
