My husband and I hit this place up on Saturday 05/03/26 in Wylie at the Tractor Supply Co. parking lot. I had seen an ad for them Friday on Insta and we love fish and chips so we added this to our calendar and on Saturday drove over to Wylie. We happened to arrive just as "Karen" was raising a ruckus about the size and price of the extra piece of fish she ordered. She wanted to complain and "ask" if that's what she should expect of them but wouldn't allow the server to answer her, hollering that she "didn't want an explanation!" before walking off in a huff. I have to say, ALL of the people working the truck were extremely friendly and polite. After about a 5 minute wait in the short line, we ordered a fish and chips basket to share, with an extra piece of fish (4 in total) a side of coleslaw and some extra sauces (no charge for the sauces). Our food was ready in about 6-7 minutes and we took it to eat in the car since there was no shade or anywhere to sit in the area. The lady at the pick-up window said our fork was in the food container (it wasn't) and they had no bags which was ok for us but the single man in front of us who ordered two meals and some drinks needed to make two trips to his car. It's take-out folks, please provide bags. Once in the car, the first thing we did was check the number and size of the fish. We had 4 very nice sized pieces of freshly fried cod. Then we looked for the fork and my husband went back to the food truck to retrieve the missing fork. The coleslaw was NOT coleslaw. It was dry chopped cabbage and a small container of an unidentifiable sweet, brown syrupy dressing. You had to pour that on then reseal the cup and shake like a maniac in sort of a DIY slaw making mini-project. It was pretty good once assembled. The fries were crispy and tasty but I don't really understand or care for "breaded/coated" french fries. Never-the-less, they were good. I would eat here again. And we didn't need the extra sauces, so that was a little wasteful on our part. Sorry
This really should be a 4.5 star review but you can't award 1/2 stars. Some issues resulting in the imaginary subtraction of 1/2 star: no bags, missing fork, unidentified slaw dressing and no allowed substitutions for the sides. Also, pricing is oddly different if you order something as an addition to a meal versus a la cart. Like extra pieces of fish are $5 if added to a meal versus $7 if ordered separately. (shrug) The ambiance is what you make of it. It's a food truck. The location was easy to find, had plenty of nearby parking and we really enjoyed our interactions with the staff. So 5 stars might be a bit high for this joint, but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more
