My husband and I went here for dessert only on Saturday, 5/23. We sat at the bar, since they were very busy and didn't want to sit outside. We got the Chocolate Brownie a la Mode. They were good. Although, I took a star away because we asked that the brownies be "hot". They were room temperature. We will go back again for lunch or dinner! read more

Quick Lunch Date with my mom! We weren't that hungry and settled on the platter which comes with Catfish, Shrimp and Oysters. Served with a side of coleslaw and fries. The Seafood Platter is big enough to share! They were so nice to split up the food for us. She had her half on her own plate. The FRIED shrimp was the star for me. The GRILLED Oysters were equally as yummy though. Both were my favorite. My mom loved the Shrimp. The Catfish was ok for us, maybe it needed a bit more seasoning. Overall fun platter to share! The French Fries were tasty! The coleslaw with the apple cider vinegar is great! Hush puppies were yummy. A tad bit fried too hard this visit. Margarita was delicious as usual! Service was good! Staff were pleasant and polite! Ambiance is great and it's one of my favorite neighborhood spots. I left happy and FULL! I was satisfied and another very good visit. However, the Lobster Grilled Cheese is still my favorite. I miss the chicken and shrimp penne pasta that use to be on the menu. I hope one day it will be a chalkboard special. read more

If you are looking for seafood in Allen ,this place is as good as it gets. I forgot to take pics so I will add some next time we go, but all in all this place is very nice. Its very small, so you have to make a reservation but its very easy to do. Our waitress was amazing but very slow. We waited for 15 minutes before we flagged down a hostess and she got our waitress who had just run in the door. I ordered a beer and the wife ordered tea. It was halfway through my oysters before it came (another 15 minutes and they never asked me if I wanted another as it sat empty during the entrees. First, I ordered oysters which were very small (its seasonal so its hit or miss) but they were great. For an entree the wife ordered catfish and the breading was spectacular! I had the Honey Chipotle Shrimp tacos where were also very good. We do love the restaurant but I was pretty disappointed in the staff. We watched them just stand around and chat while playing on their phones while we sat at our table and no one came to greet us, Food is 5 Star, and the staff is MID at best. Again our waitress was very nice but we never really saw her after we ordered. We will still go back and ill update next time we go read more

I was a regular at the Irving location and was sad to see them go. Most locations have closed down from what I understand. Decent albeit limited seafood dining here at Fish City. I think you can get a pretty good meal here however,not great. The kitchen produces the limited menu in a respectable workman like manner for an ok price. I have high expectations of seafood restaurants and I'm not looking for low cost value or bargains. We had such a great experience at Fish City Grill! I ordered the Salmon Caesar Salad and it was absolutely delish -- perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My husband went all-in with the seafood platter featuring blackened oysters, and he loved every single bite. He's still raving about the Crab Bisque, so that alone is worth the trip! We ended the meal by sharing the peach cobbler. It was really good -- I'm just a "more cinnamon and sugar, please!" kind of girl, but overall it hit the spot. The last three visits to Fish City Grill in Allen have been disappointing. I don't usually use this platform to express concerns about restaurant experiences, but I've noticed a consistent downward pattern that hasn't always been this way. On my last visit, I ordered fried catfish. It was so heavily breaded that I had to peel it away from the fish to enjoy the fish itself. The server recommended spinach orzo and gave a portion to taste, it was scorched, which I mentioned to the server prior to receiving my order, but it didn't seem to matter it came out the same way. After I had a pile of breading on my plate from the fish, the server had offered me a dessert. I initially declined, but then I decided to give it a try. I ordered the easiest dessert that I could think of: a Keylime pie, something I love. I asked for it to go because I wanted to get home. I'm less than five minutes. When I got home, the pie was warm. Also she charged me for the pie which I took as a concession for the issue with the entrées which I paid for. On my previous visit, I had a similar experience. I was disappointed with my experience, so I decided to be more careful and ordered a burger. I asked for it medium-rare, but it came out well-done. The worst part was that the bun was molded. I brought this to the server's attention, and they brought it to the manager's attention. They gave an excuse that the bun not being visible where they were kept. However, I still said that I would give them another try. We did give them another try, but it wasn't any better. The restaurant is close and convenient, but it's just not good anymore. Yesterday at 7:30, there were plenty of seats available, there were some people coming and going, taking out orders. My experience has just not been good for some reason. These place is truly a great place to come and eat at! The service is amazing with true smiles and great recommendations for what to eat. The drinks are amazing and so are the bartenders. Food here is decent here. We ordered the gumbo, red beans and rice, house salad, calamari, hamburger for the kiddos, fish city sandwich. Fish was cooked to perfection but flavor was lacking in the fish city sandwich. The burgers were a bit dry. Gumbo was a little salty but the red beans and rice was perfect. Perfect portion size and the prices were decent as well. Service was good. It's a great place for small and large groups. Casual, chill, atmosphere. The bar opens up to the patio area, which also has seating also as well. The area is very fresh, and new. Fish and chips were very good. I forgot the kind of fish they use, but it's not cod, however it was still really good. Gumbo had great flavor. My dinner partner had the salmon, and the salmon had wonderful flavor. So if I want to ensure hospitality this is my top choice. Located at the popular Watters Creek Live-Work-Play, Fish City has a prime spot with a great patio and live music hosting. It's near a green so they can hold other activities too. The interior decor is fun pirate's theme. The bar is well stocked and I enjoy getting a cocktail. One time we came, the server brought us free samples of their soups. Very cool. Nice variety and options. I am not a seafood expert, and this seems to be southern seafood style. This is a great establishment. We came on a Friday around 130pm and it was not packed. They also do have outdoor seating if you want to enjoy the weather. We were immediately greeted and seated. A prospective vendor invited me to lunch at Fish City Grill in Allen, just a short way down from the Marriott Allen where I was staying. This is a nice area ... shops and restaurants galore! I started with a Hendricks gin & tonic ... alas, a wedge of lime instead of the proper slice of cucumber. Hendricks is infused with cucumber and rose petals so a lime can overpower the delicate nature of this gin. I had the salmon BBQ tacos; three tacos with a bowl of beans and rice. It was the perfect size for lunch and the tacos were delicious. I just wished they came with two tortillas instead of one as the generous filling overwhelmed the tortilla. Came here for the first time today for our anniversary. We got the crab bisque, clam chowder, shrimp n grits, and scallops with bacon wrapped shrimp. Everything we had was very delicious! This was a good find. As a pescatarian, I love exploring places that have a good seafood option and this one meets the bar. We shared Calamari and crab cakes for appetizer and ordered Shrimp salad and Salmon Taco for main course. They were all delicious and fresh. We were served by a very nice waitress. Since we were out-of-towners and it was our first visit to the restaurant, she got us 2 complimentary soup sampler which contained 4 soups and 2 shrimps. That was a nice gesture and we absolutely loved all the soups.
