I was told that this food truck in McKinney is a good spot for boiled crawfish. I had to check it out although it was a 45 minute drive. I'm not complaining though. I'll definitely travel for good food. I enjoyed the crawfish. They were actually well seasoned. Not the sprinkle of seasoning on the outside but the crawfish itself. No wait. Friendly staff. Outdoor seating. Other food trucks are in the area. I do have one grievance, however. They may want to rebalance their weigh scale because no way was that 3 lbs of crawfish. I overhead someone else at another table making a similar comment regarding theirs. When I mentioned it to my coworker, she said she thought the same thing when she went. Went there today after hearing about this place for years from various people/ groups. AMAZING!!! I make it a point to try crawfish anywhere new I can and hands down this is the best cooked seafood I've had in awhile! We tried the crawfish, shrimp and snow crab and got the fried catfish as well. It was easy to peel/crack with amazing spicy Louisiana style seasoning. The catfish was breaded and fried perfectly with gorgeous thick filets.... All around it was all juicy quality seafood and prices were amazing! Go!! And go to the daiquiri place next door too while you wait!!! The fish is thick and NOT THIN where some restuarants slice the catfish in half to make you have 2 pieces. Not this place!! You get 2 big size pieces of catfish. Twisted Tails is a great place to pick up crawfish when it's in season. A quick search on Yelp turned up several places but this one was along the route and conveniently located! They have plenty of outdoor seating but we ended up taking our order to go instead. Several people showed up and did the same as well so this is definitely a popular place. We got the #2 which was 5 pounds of crawfish with alligator sausage (trust me it's good), #3 which was 1 pound of shrimp and a Bayou Box for appetizers. The crawfish is definitely the star and winner here so I do recommend that you get that here! Also for the brave and adventurous the alligator sausage is not tough at all. The entire Bayou Box had my fried favorites consisting of crawfish tails, frog legs and fries. These were accompanied by ketchup and tartar sauce. The bag kept everything piping hot for the drive back and the box held up too. Credit cards are accepted here and it's a keeper in my book. We love this road side joint! The crawfish is seasoned perfectly and the staff is friendly good wholesome folks! They have nice cool upright picnic tables with umbrellas to keep the direct sun off while you enjoy your delicious food. They have some fun games out back to enjoy while you wait, but it doesn't take them long to serve you. It's like a backyard country cookout with none of the work!
