If you're in Southern Highlands and looking for sushi you have to try On Demand Sushi! It only is it the only sushi place in Southern Highlands, but the food is quality, the staff is nice and the restaurant is clean! They have lunch specials Monday through Thursday! They have Happy Hour Specials 7 days a week at various times! They have a wide ranging menu. Bento boxes, to rolls, they even have Hawaiian Poke and for friends who don't do sushi - they even have a $10 Burger and fries! Check this place out!

Really good sushi! My husband and I came in for a late lunch during the week and were able to sit right away. It doesn't seem too big inside, and they do have bar seating if you are into that. Our service was nice and attentive the whole way through! We started with the spicy garlic edamame which I absolutely loved! It had a hint of sweetness, and the longer it sat on the table, the thicker the sauce became on it. I took the rest of it to go that's how much I loved it. I got the japanese lasagna roll (baked) and the golden knight roll (fried). I loved every bite of it. I think we spent something like $70ish for our 2 rolls each, edamame, and beer for my husband. I thought everything was amazing and would love to come more since we live so close. I definitely recommend! Not sure how busy it gets during dinner or on the weekend, but it was pretty calm for us. Great food, really nice people, and calm ambiance. Love it!

Pound of Ahi tuna poké for $18 June 2026

We LOVE the $18/pound Hawaiian poké here! It lasts for 2 meals and comes in multiple options. We opt for the salmon and spicy ahi. The service is fast and friendly. We usually grab a pastry and coffee next door at Cafe Su Sud while we wait!

Ordered 5 rolls 10 Nigiri 1 miso soup Soup was horrible! Too salty to eat. They gave me the bottom of the soup pot Rolls were good until I ate the Nigiri. Salmon was spoiled, while I was eating my Salmon Nigiri I thought it tasted weird, my wife smelled the other salmon and it was spoiled and discolored. I spit it out! Dinner was ruined from that point on, scared to finish my rolls. Please see picture of spoiled salmon!

Uneven cuts

A lot to unpack. The quality of fish was subpar. Extremely subpar. I mean, look at the hamachi. And the salmon sashimi?! Unacceptable, just flat out lazy. I've had great sushi in Japan, Hawaii, New York, California.. and had some really bad sushi in places like New Mexico. This place is by far the worst. And that is saying a lot. Now I have to freeze the entire meal because trash day is in 5 days and that's a lot of fish to throw away. I don't know how this place got 4.2 stars. Maybe service, because the food was not good at all.

Went to On Demand Sushi and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and came out on time. Our server Preston was great and kept checking on us. He also helped me customize a roll bc the one I wanted was spicy, which was really cool. We got to talk to the owner Carey and he was awesome. He showed us some cool pictures of sushi boats and catering stuff he's done. We'll definitely be back. Also, he mentioned they do Trivia here on special nights.

Baked mussels
Rosey V.

The food quality was not great, the tonkatsu ramen did not taste or look like a tonkatsu ramen, tasted like a regular maruchan that you can get at Walmart for 60cents... the baked mussels were plain, barely any flavor.. the salmon kama was a 6/10, would not order any of that again. The best thing here was the California roll. Service was good, it was empty, not Much people inside. Food did take longer than expected for a restaurant that had maybe 1other table. Overpriced for food that has no flavor Or love. My bill came out to $73 and I wish I would have chosen Sapporo instead

If you can't tell by now, I'm a big sushi fan! When On Demand Sushi opened up around the neighborhood we had to check it out. We walked in on a Friday night and were promptly greeted by the friendly staff. The restaurant itself is spacious and inviting. We also found out they host a variety of events including paint nights and how to roll your own sushi classes, we'll have to come back for one of those nights. We ordered a handful of items and each of them had won our hearts over. At the time when we visited they weren't offering AYCE yet, which we didn't mind. The quality of the food for its price was great. I highly recommend getting the baked mussels, the flavor couldn't be beat! Bonus: They also have a little arcade in the back with games you can play for free!

I've been to On Demand sushi several times and have always been impressed with the quality, freshness and speed at which food is prepared for online orders, but today was extra special. I have (not so) patiently waited 9 months for the birth of my son to come here again and I was just blown away. I ordered the 5 item platter with unagi, salmon belly, yuzu yellowtail, chanel roll, and on demand roll, as well as 6 oysters. It was all AMAZING. The presentation was flawless despite delivery, everything was incredibly fresh and the cuts of fish were generous without being overbearing. Definitely a fantastic reward!

Where do I begin! I found out about this place via Tik tok, then saw their IG page. We came for the make your sushi, 4-6pm where the owner Gary taught us with his team. We had a cutting board knife and all the necessary tools. They did a great job of teaching us the how toos as well. It was $50 w/ a free drink for each person. We had an over abundance of sushi and lord have mercy! Let me tell you! They have some fresh fish and the rice tastes so damn good and fresh. We had salmon, white fish, tuna, shrimp, hamachi, crab meat, and spicy crab meat to pick from. What I found out is he uses real crab, 20% of his mixture is real crab. Very little mayo, I was very impressed. He has 2 sides to the restaurant. the main area and then the bar side. They have daily happy hours! I can't say enough! This is a hidden gem in this neighborhood. People are sleeping on this place!

What is ayce menu?

All you can eat.

Are half rolls available?

Short answer, no. However, if the chefs aren't swamped with other orders, AND you ask NICELY, there's a chance they'll make a half roll for you.

Is this restaurant all you can eat? If so, what is the price per person?

You can do a la carte or AYCE. I can't remember the price for lunch but I recently went a on 1/20 and the dinner price was about $35 a person. If you want to upgrade to their premium items it's an extra $5.99 up charge per person.

Is the premium plus charge per items marked that way, or does it just mean you pay that once for acces to all items marked premium plus?

Hi there. We are no longer doing All You can eat. We do have an amazing New Happy Hour and Lunch Specials. Please come check us out! Thank you so much.

Do you do half rolls now?

No I'm sorry we don't.if slow we can make a couple if you want. Have a great day!

How much is AYCE?

SAKANA IS SIMPLY THE BEST!…read more Sakana has officially become our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE sushi restaurant, and for good reason! Their all-you-can-eat menu is loaded with an incredible variety, so there's always something delicious to try. As someone who prefers sushi without rice, I especially appreciate their no-rice options! They may only have two no-rice rolls, but their seafood salad with assorted fish and cucumber is SO delicious, and their Jalapeño Bomb is an absolute MUST every single visit! Their nigiri is also fantastic--the rice-to-fish ratio is perfect, allowing the fresh fish to shine without being overwhelmed by rice! One of my favorite things is that they offer full or half rolls on most of their sushi selections, making it easy to try even more of their amazing menu. Add in their huge selection of appetizers, including edamame, and there's no shortage of options to keep your taste buds happy! And PLEASE, whatever you do, SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! Their fried banana with ice cream is my go-to every single time. It's the perfect sweet ending to an already incredible meal! But what truly makes Sakana special is the staff. The food is amazing, the selection is fantastic, and the people make the entire experience that much better. You can have great sushi anywhere, but when you combine delicious food with genuinely wonderful service, you have something special. Sakana isn't just our favorite sushi spot anymore--it's THE sushi spot we compare everyone else to! If you haven't been, you're seriously missing out!

The best AYCE in Vegas!…read more I would recommend getting nigiri due to the fish to rice ratio. Service is hit or miss best to go as early as possible. This is the best place to take your special someone on a date.

They offer all-you-can-eat for around $35, which honestly seems like a great deal if you can put down some sushi , but we knew we wouldn't eat enough to make it worth it, so we opted to order à la carte instead. We started with the pork belly, which was actually the only thing we didn't care for, so we ended up sending that back. Everything after that, though, was SO good. The garlic spicy salted edamame was delicious and such a good way to start. We also tried several of their all-day specials--the yellowtail carpaccio, crunchy onion albacore, and seared bluefin tuna--and all three were delicious. Normally the specials are limited to one per person with AYCE, but since we were ordering à la carte, we could order however many we wanted. For rolls, I got the A Little Tease Roll and really enjoyed it. My husband got the Call 911 roll, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say he loved his too . My son kept it simple with a California roll and a cup of rice, which worked perfectly for him. We also shared a lychee nigiri, one of my favorites, and it was super yummy. The ambiance is probably one of my favorite things about this place. It's really fun and feels like somewhere you could come for a date night, but it's still completely comfortable for families. It would also be a great spot to come with a group. The surrounding area looks a little sketchy, so don't let that throw you off. Once you walk inside, it seriously feels like you've been transported somewhere completely different. The restaurant itself is really nice and has such a fun vibe. Definitely recommend checking this place out and trying some of their different sushi rolls and specials. Everything we had (minus the pork belly ) was BOMB. Next time we're in Vegas, we'll absolutely come back and try some more!

We decided to sit at the sushi bar, which turned out to be a great choice. It gave us the opportunity to interact with the chef and watch him prepare everything right in front of us. You could immediately tell how talented and experienced he was just by watching his knife skills and the care he put into every dish. We started with the Albacore Tuna, cut into six beautiful slices. It was incredibly tender and practically melted in our mouths. It was so good that we ate it before we even thought about taking a picture! I ended up finding a photo of it on TARU's website because it deserved to be included. Next, we had a Salmon Roll, and then we decided to put ourselves in the chef's hands and asked him to make us a Chef's Surprise. He prepared a beautiful plate featuring four different types of fish, and this time we remembered to take a picture! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. To finish the evening, the chef surprised us with a dessert of fresh oranges with a touch of liqueur. It was light, refreshing, and the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. What really made the evening memorable was the combination of excellent sushi and the personal experience at the sushi bar. Our chef was cordial, engaging, and clearly very talented at his craft. If you enjoy high-quality sushi and are looking for a special experience while in Las Vegas, TARU is definitely worth a visit. We would absolutely go back!

We started our meal off with some spicy garlic edamame, seaweed salad, and the Taru prawns. Thr first two dishes were good representations of what they should be. The prawns were lightly fried and of good size. The dipping sauce that came with it was very subtle and light. Our main courses were the uni pasta, which came in a good portion size and contained lobster and salmon bits in addition to the uni. My wife enjoyed it and nibbled at it while I awaited my entree. I ordered the 20 piece sashimi sampler. While the tuna, yellowtail, hamachi, salmon, and red snapper all tasted very fresh, I probably would have went in another direction had I known it would take 30+ minutes to receive. I felt bad for my wife waiting to ear her dish. The server was very apologetic for the delay and offered miso soup and a shot of a fruity sake drink while we waited. The entire staff was very welcoming and attentive throughout the meal.

This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted.
