Tried this place one day on a whim, saw that they had a lunch special on IG for $20 ayce so I wanted to give it a try. We first arrived when they just opened and was sat immediately. When we first entered, I noticed a smell. I kind of smelled like pipes or sewage pipes? Not sure how to describe it. Once receiving the menu, she explained what was included in the lunch ayce and of course lots of things were crossed out. So most of our orders were nigiri, some sushi's, a couple yakitoris and shrimp tempura. Everything else was at premium pricing. The service was ok, since it was opening there were hardly any people in there. The food was ok, just a regular Ayce sushi place nothing special. This place reminds me of how Ayce sushi was in 2006. We came to Daisho Sushi after getting a Groupon ($75 worth of food for $45). The server was super patient and kind explaining to us what the Groupon covered/didn't cover on the menu. If you're using Groupon here, read the fine print before purchasing to make sure you can get what you want here. My husband and I got the Sushi and Sashimi Platter. Sushi and Sashimi Platter - This platter is meant for 2-3 people, and it's definitely only enough for 2. It looked beautiful when it came out although it took a while to prepare. I didn't love everything on this platter, and the cuts of fish didn't seem to be the highest quality (you pay for what you get). I did enjoy trying out the different types of fish here though. Sushi is above average for an all you can eat-served with perfect amount of rice and fish pieces are cut thin and long which is just how my family likes it! We tried this place because of a special that was going on. Most all of the dishes were excellent, only a few were meh. The miso soup, salmon skin salad, mackerel, garlic tuna, baked green mussels, and yellowtail were all top-notch! The only things I didn't care for was the calamari, with the wrong type of breading and way too much of it, and the shrimp shumai, which only had one teeny tiny little shrimp on top of a rather large shumai. Service was excellent, fast and friendly by Chelsea. Very nicely decorated interior with a few televisions around showing what looks like cooking. Delicious food - tempura is perfection, chicken and pork cooked perfectly - soup is warm and filling - and the salad is fresh with dressing seasoned nicely. This was my first visit with a friend who's a regular. He had AYCE and I tried several dishes a la cart. Service was spectacular and we always had drink refills and he tried lots of sushi dishes! The interior is very clean and authentic. We arrived about 5pm and it was great to beat the dinner rush. 't paying much for this meal. We could not choke down a lot of the food, but I didn't want to be rude and say anything. I just asked for the check and told them about the Groupon. We were advised that we could not use the Groupon on. AYCE. I then asked to speak with the manager and nicely told him about the fact that we got the Groupon and did not like the food. He then told me I was wrong, his food was great, and they've been open for 14 years and I am not to tell him that the food was bad. We eat a lot of sushi at different restaurants and never had sushi this bad. A few of the things were edible and we ordered those things a few times so that we would leave full. Anyway, the rude manager was our server for half of the meal and the server for the other half was very uninterested in being there. I've never not tipped in my life. However, when we were seated, the tables and booths were dirty with crumbs. The interior and food are nice, but the service kind of threw me off. The lady serving there doesn't seem to be okay emotionally when asked questions. besides that If you're doing à la carte without any deals, this place is extremely expensive. I'm talking to San Francisco levels of expensive. Basic rolls are around $11. I guess this is their way of swaying you into choosing all you can eat. Came here randomly after stopping by Walmart because I had a sushi craving. I grabbed a couple of rolls, but noticed they had a bento box lunch special. I came back the next day to give it a try. The portions were pretty good for the price! I was still full by dinner time. The chicken was grilled perfectly and had plenty of sauce. The tempura came with vegetable and shrimp pieces, including a sweet potato! Mmm! . It comes with a California roll, but I was only charged $1 more to change to a spicy tuna roll. Worth it! Used to love this place. Not planning on returning anymore. I came in yesterday for AYCE and did not feel bad beforehand. There were barely any people there for a Saturday night. After eating the first round, which consisted of a few nigiri, I immediately felt bloated and unwell. The shrimp and squid nigiri tasted very off. The squid left a weird film texture in my mouth and came apart too easily compared to other places I have had squid nigiri. The other nigiri did not taste the same as in previous times I have dined here. There is also too much rice. When I left, I immediately pulled over to the side of the road and vomited up everything I had eaten. This also happened a couple of months ago at this same location. I came home one night and could not hold down anything. I was vomiting from night until the morning after. At the time, I did not believe that it was the sushi. The service was okay. $35 is a pretty steep price for AYCE sushi. You can find cheaper, better quality sushi on Spring Mountain. Disappointed that this place has gone downhill. read more

AYCE IS BACK!!!! I'm so happy that Daisho is now offering their AYCE service again. We were long long long time customers of their at least 3-5 times a month before they stopped doing AYCE but when they changed their prices we're so high we couldn't go anymore and after months of searching for a new sushi spot weve been continuously disappointed. My daughter and I went today to check out their new AYCE offering and I'm happy to say it's just like it used to be!!! The ayce menu is nearly identical to what we remember with all of our old favorites making their triumphant return!!!! This this my favorite sushi restaurant in town for its combination of quality, more traditional style, menu options, and fast service. Their new AYCE menu is missing a few little items from before, but the staff has been kind enough to accommodate if you ask within reason. They kept the fish quality that very few AYCE places achieve in Vegas. Suggestions: Would be fun to see some mushroom appetizers/rolls/skewers.
