I have a shellfish allergy so was stoked to learn they were able to customize and exclude shellfish from the mix. I'm not usually one to make a negative review of a small business. If I have a bad experience I usually just chalk it up to them having an off day, and I move on with my life. This is also difficult for me to speak about, because it's a service problem. I actually think it's a training problem, not a problem with the servers themselves. I do not want any server to be punished, because there is clearly something going on with training and/or staffing. All the servers have been very nice, and I believe are doing the best they can with the tools they have. But I've had the same bad experience at Sushi Mon on Maryland the last 3 times I've been in, and at this point I feel like I need to speak up. I've been going to Sushi Mon for years, and every single visit we get random food dropped off at our table that we didn't order. On the surface this doesn't seem like a big deal, because someone in the group can usually eat it. But it is actually a very big problem, because that food was meant for another table so now that party didn't get what they ordered; and this is the crux of my complaint. Normally I go with a group of 4-6 people, but these last 3 visits have only been two of us. I order the AYCE sushi and my husband orders off the non-sushi menu. I will place my 1st round of food when he orders his, and I usually get what I ordered. I will order my 2nd round when the 1st is dropped off. I NEVER get what I ordered on the 2nd round. They usually get one correct item, but the rest are random items (which I can't eat because I have food allergies, so I can't just eat a roll without knowing what in it). So, I have to flag the server down; tell them I didn't order it and repeat what I did order. Even after resubmitting my order more random items will appear. The food runners are like ninjas and drop plates off without stopping, so I can't say anything before they are gone. But today... visit number 3 in this trifecta of poor service. I ordered my first round at the same time as my husband's order. I ordered a cucumber salad, half an Achichi roll, and a Candy Crush Sashimi. I know exactly what time I ordered, because I sent my BFF a text immediately after we ordered. The salad came out super-fast, a few minutes later my husband's non-sushi meal came out and a few minutes after that my 1/2 Achichi roll came out. At that time, I ordered a 1/2 Pastel roll. And then we waited. And waited. Our server seemed to disappear. I eventually flagged down another server and told her I had ordered over half an hour ago and was still waiting. She went to check, when she came back, she unsurprisingly told me my food had been delivered to another table and they were making it now. I told her no, I didn't have time to wait, and I asked for the check. She brought the check and very politely told me she only charged me for lunch instead of dinner. At which point I told her I only ordered the dinner menu because I wanted the Candy Crush Sashimi that never came. We paid and I left hungry. I know, I shouldn't have paid $28.99 for cucumber salad and 1/2 a roll, but I was absolutely over it and just wanted to leave. Like I said, this isn't a one-off situation, it's been the last 3 visits. I told some friends who also frequent there, and they informed me they found a new sushi place, because of these same issues. I'm hoping the owners and managers of Sushi Mon see this and can learn from it, because they are losing customers. I truly believe it's a training issue, like maybe the staff doesn't know the table numbers, or perhaps the sushi chefs can't read the servers handwriting. Better than I expected. The sushi was pretty good and the service was excellent. Went here with 10 guys for a birthday celebration and they fit us in. It is a very busy place so seating might be tight for a large groups. We went with the all you can eat menu for each of us, and they were plenty of options, including rolls, Nigiri, sashimi, and other Japanese food. Manly stuck with the rolls, which were surprisingly good. They are plenty of options to choose from. The Nigiri was good, smaller than normal but again you can eat as much as you want. All the sides were good, including the sashimi salad and miso soup. Highly recommend but beware it gets busy read more

So the food here is good, but it's not the best. What I mean by that is that there's a lot of really good sushi places here in Las Vegas and this isn't one that I would recommend if someone is looking for exceptional sushi. read more

This is my sushi place. Tuna isn't my favorite fish but bluefish tuna was so good this time. Most of AYE restaurants don't have fresh scallops sushi but Sushi Mon has!! I like scallops. I first went to Goyemon in my early 20s. Sushi Mon on Sahara since my mid 20s. I have enjoyed their menu over the years but I have actually never gone to the Sushi Mon on Maryland until yesterday. I went to meet my bestie here for lunch and we had a great time. AYCE lunch is reasonable at $28.95. I got the seaweed salad to start which is a small portion but was still great. Baked mussels were okay, but I have had better. Masago roll was great. Supreme salmon roll is a favorite of mine and they were generous with the portions of fish so I was very thankful for that. (Sorry, I didn't snap a pic of the Supreme Salmon roll!) No name roll was great and I love this roll because of the asparagus! Ecstasy roll has always been a favorite, but this wasn't as flavorful as I remember ..just okay this time. Freshwater eel was small and not as flavorful either. Jellyfish was tasty! Spider roll was a star as always!! Love love loveeee the Sushi Mon Spider roll! Dessert was fried ice cream which was fine. Service was friendly and great! Stopped by for a quick bite. Service was ok. I opted to sit at the bar and the hostess told me I could sit anywhere so I chose to sit 2nd seat from the wall. (Didn't want to sit against the wall.) She didn't say anything. But, when the server came to me, she said if I had someone else dining with me and I said no. She said I should have sat on the far left, against the wall. Hmm ok. If they need me to move if it gets busy, I'll be happy to move. She then said NO we won't move you when you've already seated. Hmm ok... Moving on.. I had a glass of wine, miso soup and a Tiger Roll. It was really good and fresh. They also offer AYCE. Overall, this review would have been a 4-5 STARS but because of my interaction regarding where I sat (again the hostess sat me there) I would've rated them higher. I don't normally post reviews, but I'm honestly shocked at how poorly Uber Eats orders are being handled here. This is now a repeated issue, and it's costing this business money, loyal customers, and Uber drivers their time. Tonight, my order was canceled because a woman said they "don't make California rolls wrapped in cucumber." That's simply not true. I've ordered this exact item from this location multiple times. I can't eat nori and I don't like soy paper, so cucumber wrap is the only way I can order sushi -- and I always pay the extra charge without issue. What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time this has happened. On May 26, I had almost the exact same situation. A woman told me they couldn't make the roll and tried to charge me $15 for a California roll with cream cheese, even though I had already paid for the add‑on. When I questioned it, a man got on the phone and immediately said it was no problem -- which is the level of service I expect from Sushi Mon. After three phone calls and 1.5 hours, the order finally arrived. During that time, the woman sent away two Uber drivers, and the communication -- or lack of communication -- was completely disregarding the situation. I believe I spoke with the manager, and that was not her. Based on the voice and the interaction, I believe it was the same woman tonight, and she canceled my order again with the same excuse -- even though I literally ordered the same thing last week with almost the same issue. For reference: * June 1 -- Order canceled (3 cucumber‑wrapped California rolls with cream cheese) * May 26 -- Order fulfilled (3 California rolls + 3 shrimp tempura rolls, all with cream cheese and cucumber inside) The food here is excellent, but the inconsistency and the way delivery orders are being handled is unacceptable. One employee is repeatedly canceling valid orders, giving incorrect information, and creating unnecessary problems. We have been back several times since our last review, and we just love it. It's our favorite! Service is always quick, we're in and out in like 20 minutes Lol it's affordable & reasonable. We got 2 half baked rolls, 1 hand roll, and 2 special rolls for about $45 before tip. I'm full and content every time. The rolls are consistently good, I just love it. Today, I decided to try something new! I love that they offer half rolls so I can try different rolls without wasting food. My usual is an OID roll. Today, I ordered the baked 428 roll. This roll has grilled chicken spread with yum yum sauce, cream cheese eel sauce & spicy sauce. I loved it! I'm not sure what my favorite roll is anymore. If you come during a busy time, it can get crowded, BUT the staff is EFFICIENT. They know how to flip tables. Such a great team from the back of house to the front of house. The place is pretty small inside but they got us in right away and it never seemed to backed up. The quality of fish is really good! The bluefin tuna melts in your mouth! Also really liked the salmon belly and yellowtail. The rice to fish ratio is decent but nothing special. The service was good at first but the server stopped being as attentive after our 2nd round of ordering. Overall good experience and would come back if I don't want to drive too far. read more

Used to be great -- now a big disappointment When Goyemon closed, we were hopeful to have found a solid replacement here--it was just as good at first. Unfortunately, over the past six months, the quality and consistency have gone downhill. We're big fans of simple nigiri--just fish and rice--but what we've been served lately has been all over the map depending on who's behind the counter. "Sushi chef" feels like a generous title at this point. We've gotten oversized, awkward cuts of fish with dry rice, rice that falls apart from too much sauce, or fish that tasted low-quality and sometimes chewy. Even the basics are declining. The ginger looked old and dried out, the rice crackers tasted recycled and reheated, and the shrimp tempura came out cold and doughy, with a watered-down broth on the side. We've tried coming back several times, hoping it was just an off day, but every visit has been equally disappointing. My family came and of course we did have a wait, which is to be expected. Once sat, we were quickly asked if we wanted beverages... Crab meat, salmon, with cream cheese DEEEPFRIED with no rice! Sooo good! It was one of my favorite sushi rolls i've had ever!!! The only thing I wouldn't get again here is the Green Tea ice cream... but, they do offer a hand full of dessert options for the all you can eat! The mussels were a bit on the sweet side! Price range is great for all you can eat! And the service was A1!!!! Ulysses and everyone else did great for a large party! It's doable, but just be aware that it would be a wait... also, the staff was super friendly and patient even when one of our guests spilled water, they were quick to help us wipe it down! First off, the service was amazing. Our waiter was on top of it and we didn't have to wait long for our next order. The sushi chefs and the hot food chefs were hardworking as the food came out quick and on point. The sushi was great. I really enjoyed the yellowtail nigiri. Salmon was fresh. Got out of my comfort zone and first time trying out jelly fish nigiri. Chewy and similar to seaweed salad. I really loved the green mussel and OID sushi roll. Oddly, asparagus went very well with the dish. The yakitori chicken skewer was cooked perfectly and wasn't burnt. For desert the tempura ice cream was amazing. Wife got the matcha latte iced and was sweet and creamy. The restaurant is small with a 60min time limit. You'll definitely get full before the 60 min is up because service is fast. This place is better than the AYCE sushi spots I've been to since moving to Las Vegas. I didn't get our waiters name but she definitely needs a shout out. She worked at noon time on 5/4/2025. I will say this over and over again alwaysss: sushimon has the best ayce yellowtail, salmon, ikura and super white. You can tell they put sooo much care into the quality of their sushi. Most Japanese sushi that's this fresh and yummy in Vegas is ala carte only. The fact that I can get unlimited yellow tail and Japanese dynamite is truly a blessing. Service is always great and the ambiance is inviting and chill. The chefs and staff are always on top of it. Can't stress enough my love for their commitment to Japanese flavor while still keeping it fun and innovative with their rolls. No gimmicks, no cheap quality. REAL yuzu, awesome daily specials from jellyfish to wasabi crawfish to the most immaculate yellow tail kama. Can't forget their dessert specials- hojicha mochi, coffee ice cream and cookies and cream ice cream- if you see any of these on the chalk board it's a must along with their super refreshing lychee sorbet. My friend recommended this spot. She dines here so when treating her for birthday there we went. It is small and they don't open till 12. Staff was super friendly and fast. I didn't get any pics which is usually my specialty lol. My lack of a star is because there was no non rice rolls. Usually sushi spot spots have a couple to choose from as I don't eat rolls with rice. However I was able to fill up on nigiri and appetizers. The chicken dishes were not my favorite. They tasted like canned chicken to me. But sushi was fresh and fast. There is one non rice roll only avail for dinner and it was lunch time. We came here because the wait at our original dinner location was too long. At first we were super bummed, until we tasted the food here. We had a huge party, and we got all you can eat sushi. Half our party was locals from Hawaii so the standards were high, naturally. We LOVED it! We asked the waiter for his recommendations to order rolls for the table and he did not disappoint. Our favorites were the super white, unagi, and the Lemon roll. When we walked in we were initially so warm, and appreciated that they turned on the AC for us. The service was so kind, attentive, and helpful. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, they brought out the Lychee ice cream for dessert! There was a Spanish server there with earrings and a partially shaved head who was very rude to me and my family while we were dining. I let my daughter order her drink first, and when it was my turn, I briefly pointed to the picture of the drink she ordered and said I wanted the same one. I felt very disrespected when he asked if I wanted to drink the soy sauce instead. He did not apologize until I asked whether he was serious or just being a wiseass. Not all of our party wanted to do AYCE so they allowed those to order Ala carte which was great. Service was excellent. I picked up a to go order on my way home from work. We were really disappointed. We ordered three rolls. We were given three small packets of soy sauce, 2 napkins and 1 set of chopsticks. At this point, we still had hope. My husband picked up his first bite and the entire thing fell apart. He picked up the next one which promptly did the same. He salved what he could on the 3rd and finally took a bite. It didn't taste right. My husband's taste buds never really came back all the way after Cov!d, so if it didn't taste right to him...that's probably not good. I took a bite of my spider roll and it tasted rancid. I couldnt even swallow it. I wish I had a better description of how it tasted, but something was definitely off. At this point, we didn't allow our daughter to even try hers.
