The food tonight was so amazing I just had to make a review. Sometimes when you go out to sushi you can feel like each roll is a copy and paste of the last one you just had, well that's not at all the case here. Everything that was served to us tonight seemed on point with each roll and item having its own balanced flavors. I especially loved the ponzu that they used in their dishes. At one point I was so focused on how good the food was that I actually forgot to take photos of some of them before we completely ate it all and they were just that good. On top of the food we had a really great service. Upon entering we were quickly greeted by the WHOLE staff who were extremely welcoming. We were sat at a booth and assigned our server Danelene who made sure we knew what we were ordering and helped explain some of the dishes to us in a way that made us feel like she was actually excited to be serving us which made dinner feel great and not threatening by how large the menu was. The ambiance was set to feel like nightlife which I definitely do not mind and I can appreciate. The music played was upbeat and kept energy in the room. Overall I can say I loved my experience here and we will be continue to be dining patrons at this location while hopefully getting the same server every time. And to the restaurant and kitchen staff thank you for making our night amazing!
Sumo Sushi is worth checking out. They have an extensive menu, including some top-tier selections, but the service is not good. I'm not sure if they're still working out the process, but checking in was not the smoothest. There was only one hostess tonight, and she was doing quadruple duty: checking people in, seating them, getting tables set up--including water--and cleaning menus. She was clearly overwhelmed, and it took us forever to be seated despite there being plenty of open seats. The restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Ordering was also delayed. Our server apologized, took our initial order, and then it was quite some time before we saw him--or any other server, for that matter--again. Some of our orders were forgotten or entered incorrectly, and it took equally as long to receive our bill. There were some bright spots, including the decor, ambiance, and several standout menu items, such as the otoro and sashimi platter. Overall, though, the food was nothing special, and the rolls were tiny. So was the nigiri. Worth checking out, but I doubt we'll be back. Oh, and stay away from the fried oysters and Jujutsu Kaisen roll. Bona fide awful, both of them.

It was quite slow and the staff wasn't as attentive as we would have liked, especially when we needed refills or were ready for the bill. Really liked the atmosphere with the beautiful design and decor. Very Japanese vibes. Overall, if you're willing to be a little patient for great food, it's definitely worth checking out. I'd come back for the sushi!
Every single bite was better than the next. We had a wonderful experience. The staff were attentive, the place was spotless. We were sitting right by the sushi bar and could see everything being made with lightening speed. Every plate was like a piece of art work. We always love new experiences and visitng new places. Our monthly girl date after a long work day this one we look forward to visiting again. We had tried the late night happy our meno at their other location. This tome we had their all day menu.
I have been to this Sumo location twice now. The first time was shortly after it opened with a group of 3 of my girl friends. We loved the service and the rolls. Everything came out quickly and the restaurant was clean. I recently went again with a group of 6 for a friend's birthday. We came on a Sunday and although we had a large group, we were seated right away. The staff were quick to get our drinks and our orders put in. One staff member was nice enough to take a group photo for us. Another staff sounded like he needed more training on knowing the rolls better because he dropped a plate off at our table saying that it was one thing when it was a different thing entirely. The fish to rice ratio was very good. Staff was very quick with cleaning and the decor inside is really cute! I would go again, but probably stick with a smaller group to avoid confusion.

The layout inside has definitely changed and now accommodates a lot more seating, while still keeping that open, spacious feel. The vibes were immaculate! We went with the all-you-can-eat dinner option and were honestly amazed by how quickly everything came out. The service was efficient, the food was fresh, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. It was such a great experience from start to finish. We'll absolutely be returning to Sumo Sushi! Definitely recommend checking out the renovated space if you haven't been back yet.
Sushi restaurant located in Henderson by the Eastern Ave. corridor. We came at 9pm for the late night sushi all you can eat happy hour. Note: this does not include the entire AYCE menu. The appetizers were pretty good. The sushi was ok. The Philadelphia roll was very small and did not look very appetizing. The Golden Tiger roll was very good. The Bruno Mars roll was not good. The waitstaff was very friendly. It does get very busy for the late night AYCE.
Sumo Henderson on Coronado center drive: this place rocks! Came in tonight shirt touching down in vegas from a flight to come home. Had to wait 10 minutes as they were short staffed apparently, but it's worth the wait and the happy hour pricing can't be beat at $24.95. We were seated and ordered a to. Of food. Bulgogi, orange blossom roll, baked lobster, rainbow roll, lemon salmon roll, lobster roll, and a plethora of nigiri. As always, the food was fresh, fast and delicious. Their service was great as always and the server was very informative about menu choices. Sumo Henderson continues to impress and hold the. At high for ayce sushi. It is still my go to spot and my favorite sushi spot in Henderson.
I'm so happy that Sumo made a location in Henderson!! Love that all 3 locations have a different special. But what we love the most is their all-day menu absolutely cannot be beat! The variety and quality you get at are so good. The restaurant is always super clean, and the atmosphere inside is nice and spacious. On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly and the service is fast, you are never left waiting for your next round. If you go, you 100% need to order the Kobe Beef Nigiri! Its tender, super flavorful, and literally perfect. The Truffle Butter scallops are so rich, buttery, and really nice size scallop. It is tempura fried and topped with truffle butter. Oh my gosh!! So so good. The fish-to-rice ratio is totally spot on. Our face sushi spot! Highly recommend checking them out.

Sumo Henderson immediately became my new favorite AYCE sushi spot!! The quality of fish here is SO GOOD on top of a good fish to rice ratio. I really love their All Day special section, it's one time only for those items but those are honestly what make the dinner price so worth it. Included in that section is all the good fish, and an Omakase style sashimi set, which has the most buttery cuts of fish I have had in a while. The service was very friendly and quick, and the place itself was very spacious!
Sumo Sushi continues to impress with both the quality and variety on the menu. We started with several appetizers, and each one was packed with flavor. The sizzling prime steak was cooked perfectly, the Korean galbi short ribs were tender and savory, and the bulgogi fries were a standout with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. For sushi, the Wagyu steak nigiri was incredibly rich and buttery, while the Wagyu carpaccio and yellowtail carpaccio were fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The scallops were another highlight and melted in your mouth. To finish the meal, the affogato ice cream was the perfect ending--simple, refreshing, and delicious. From start to finish, Sumo Sushi delivered a memorable dining experience with excellent food and plenty of unique options. Definitely one of our favorite spots, and we look forward to coming back to try even more dishes.
Wow! My new favorite place for AYCE!! I love the seared salmon and tuna options! They don't pound a bunch of rice with it either! Everything on that premium sushi and no rice special are very good! Lots of great options! I wish they had a premium option where I can get AYCE on those too but you only get like 1 piece per person! The prime steak and kalbi were worth getting! Again you only limited to 1portion per person. What's the point of AYCE when these are only limited. Service was quick! Staff very attentive and friendly! Great ambiance. Perfect for groups and date night!

Had the AYCE and really enjoyed it. The candied salmon nigiri was definitely my favorite thing we had. My wife tried the Japanese lasagna and now says it's her new favorite. Our server Nickel was really friendly and took great care of us. Definitely a solid spot and we'll be back! read more

First time here and I tried the AYCE. After ordering, the food came out rather quickly, which I appreciated. I ordered a couple rolls, the lobster garlic bread and the green mussles. Unfortunately, all of these dishes missed the mark. The mussels were a nice size but lacked serious flavor. The baked scallops were small and topped with an excessive amount of cheese and the lobster bread had small pieces of langostino and was rather cheesy. The rice on the sushi was minimal and not overly packed. The fish looked and tasted fresh and the portion sizes were adequate. The dining area is large with ample space to accommodate several guests. It's beautifully designed and adorned with cherry blossoms throughout the space. My server, Sergio, was friendly and very patient and waited until I decided what to order. When comparing this spot to similar establishments it's good but not great. read more
A wise Yelp friend once told me in the past 24 hours to research the restaurant ahead of time. Guess who has two thumbs and had to learn that the hard way? Sumo Henderson is the new active business in the old Sushi Wa spot the latest location of this brand that may or may not be related to the old Sumo Sushi locations around Las Vegas. These days, it's owned by the same restaurant group known for Sakana, Neko, and other popular local all-you-can-eat sushi outposts. Experienced AYCE consumers will know to expect reasonable quality fish, high fish-to-rice ratios, and sauces on nigiri. I should have also remembered to note the late-night happy hour because I showed up right in the middle of the happy hour rush. For $19.95, you can order from a limited menu that still has a variety of apps, nigiri, and rolls from 9pm-11pm. Yes, 11pm because it's their last call despite their listed hours, and it seems to supersede regular timing rules. So anyway, after over half an hour of waiting, I did get to sit down and try a variety of foods. I ended up skipping rolls entirely since nothing sounded that exciting. For apps/related, the Honey Bee Toro was a meaty yet surprisingly tender grilled pork belly, and the Baked Green Mussel (not the cheese one) was sauced with restraint and had decent flavor. I mostly focused on nigiri though, and they were mostly very satisfying. The surprise hits were the Seared Salmon and Seared Super White Tuna, both of which came topped with a basil mayo with a kewpie base. It was kinda like crack. The Yuzu Salmon and Yuzu Yellowtail are also can't-miss. The first order of the latter came with a very de-seeded slice of jalapeño, and it had a surprisingly harmonious repartee between the sweetness of the yuzu and the vegetal flavor of the chili pepper. Also, I would definitely get Garlic Tuna, Lemon Salmon, regular Yellowtail, Squid (comes with yuzu) and even the Super White despite the copious amounts of screaming o sauce on it. I tried to get regular Albacore but seemed to get Cajun Albacore, which was still pretty good. The lone truly forgettable order was the Surf Clam, which was supposed to have yuzu per the menu but didn't. Actually, maybe the slightly rubbery Unagi too. The lone dessert option currently on Happy Hour is Vanilla Ice Cream. It's kinda a kids' scoop, to put it generously. I would actually say a baby scoop. If you have a backup dessert available nearby (not the now-closed froyo shop), definitely go for it. I liked my happy hour dinner at Sumo a lot despite not having enough time for the higher levels of fullness. I'll definitely have to return at a more reasonable hour of the day and check out their All Day menu specials on that occasion. read more
Just had a great late night dinner at Sumo Henderson. This place is on Eastern and Coronado in a space that has plenty of parking. It's beautifully decorated with pretty cherry blossoms throughout the restaurant. We came in for their Happy Hour which is everyday from 9pm -close with last call at 11pm. To get ahead of the Happy Hr crowd we got there around 840 and were able to put our name on the list. We got seated promptly at 9. Although it was a limited menu we were still stuffed. Here are the items we loved: Mango habanero chicken Baked green mussels Lisa Lisa Cajun Albacore Yuzu Salmon I didn't get the name of our server but he was excellent. All the staff provided great service. Can't wait to go back. read more
Variety of fresh fish offering was vast while for my partner who doesn't eat much fish but more beef was slim. We came for an early dinner on a Friday, opted for the all day pricing as that has premium beef and other fish I wanted to try, and service was wonderful. I ordered uni and that did not taste fresh, heavy with a fishy smell. But all the other offerings were good. I liked that there are many sashimi options so you can get the protein without rice. The king salmon and the fatty salmon sashimi were amongst my favorite. It's a bit dark inside at 3:30pm, but that is definitely better than getting the hot sun. read more
I usually HATE Ayce sushi, but this place was very good. I was impressed with their selection and options available. My top favorite: -miso soup -salmon belly -uni -omakase sashimi -blue fin spicy toro -salmon kama Our server Sergio was really nice and attentive. And so was our food runner, Angel. i dont like sushi but so many of my friends do, and i like tagging along. their non sushi options are really good! the steak was buttery and tender. their spicy crispy tuna rice was also delicious- i thought the fish to rice ratio was perfect and the rice was fried will and not greasy. service was great. all the servers had good recommendations and were very friendly. the inside is sooo cute with cherry blossom and japan-esque decor. very clean and spacious as well. read more
Came here at noon on a Sunday and it was pretty empty (but expected since this is a new location.) It was the first time at this location but I love and been to the other locations. The interior is a little dark but so pretty with the cherry blossom trees and the lanterns in the top. My friend and I were starving so I only managed to get a picture of the Salmon nigiri! Everything tasted wonderful though. I love the fact their nigiri doesn't have that much rice to it. My favorites were the salmon nigiri, eel nigiri, and the yuzu yellowtail! We also got the spider roll and dragon roll. Definitely recommend dragon if you are a fan of eel! Service was also great! They were on top on making sure we stayed hydrated with water and bringing out the food! Very awesome service. Definitely coming back here again and I'm so happy they made a location here in Henderson! read more

I go here quite often with my better half and the service is incredible! Nickel is our typical waiter and he goes above and beyond and is amazing to be around and always makes us feel welcome. Was super impressed with his service and he honestly has kept us coming back weekly! Food is always great quality and comes to the table in good time. There is plenty of variety and everything we have had there has been wonderful! I have been at least 5 times this summer and each time try to get multiple new rolls. The atmosphere is super pretty! I love the looks and vibe of the restaurant and they have always had good music playing! Definitely one of our top places in the Las Vegas/Henderson area for sushi read more

We came here for my mom's birthday! I'm glad I chose this spot because WOW! I'm a big fan of all you can eat sushi so I try to go to all the different ones to test out and compare. This has to be on top of my list. The kampachi was amazing! I was also so happy you guys had uni and ama ebi here! The snow crab too! We also were impressed by how fresh the sashimi was. I know you guys are fairly new but PLEASE don't ever change the menu. Keep these items because they were SO GOOD! I will definitely be back! read more

Dined here for lunch today with my daughters and we enjoyed every bite! We got the all day special and ordered several nigiri and half rolls. The appetizers we loved were the kalbi, the shit, and the coconut shrimp. The lemon salmon roll and mango salmon roll were our faves. The salmon belly, bluefin tuna, and super white nigiri were all outstanding! We had great service even though the place was quite busy. I love the ambiance here, similar to sushi neko with pink cherry blossom trees. I'll be back for sure! read more

When you think Sumo Sushi can't get any better they open a STUNNING new location in Henderson! It's tucked away in a small shopping plaza on Eastern and Coronado Center Drive. You walk in and BAM! The most modern clean aesthetically pleasing sushi restaurant I have seen off the strip! Don't get me wrong I love all the Sumo locations (big fan of the entire chain) but this one has such a different vibe, more upscale with perfect placed cherry blossom trees everywhere. The menu is very similar to their 3rd location, with a few different items (as they do at all locations... they always have their own special to that location items.) But this is the only location that I've seen a separate menu for their Happy Hour. Which I really love so there is no confusion on what you can order. We came specifically for their Happy Hour which starts at 9pm. And just like their other locations the service was quick, super professional, and as always the nicest and kindest servers. We ate A LOT, For $19.95 it's a steal! Everything was fantastic!! Everything tasted so fresh! Their Garlic Salmon and Lemon Salmon are my favorites! Like their other location their fish to rice ratio on their nigiri's is *chefs kiss* aka the tiniest little ball of rice. It's perfect. We got Nigiri's, rolls, bulgogi, fries, etc. all absolutely fantastic. The only complaint I could even make is that the soap in the bathroom wasn't working, but that's literally it. Other than that, another amazing Sumo Sushi Location that I cannot wait to go back to! read more

Sumo Sushi never disappoints!! I'm obsessed with their Warm Springs location so when I found out they just opened a Henderson location I had to run and try! The food was absolutely delicious with an amazing variety of options! The service is GREAT, large booths and tables to fit any size group along with an elevated menu. The vibe is more of an upscale dining experience with nice lighting, soft music and gorgeous aesthetic with cherry blossoms climbing the wall. They have a Lunch/Late Night Special along with an All Day Special. There are different options on each. Also one thing I love is that if you do choose the Lunch/Late Night Special then they will give you a copy of the menu that only has the options for the special menu you want. read more

This place is amazing. Variety menu selection : tasty non sushi items, sashimi, nigiri, and rolls Friendly staff: keep cleaning up empty dishes and constantly checking that we need to order more or need anything else Great food: sushi rice is super tiny & very long fish, sauce is very tasty. I normally don't eat roll, but I ate 3 half rolls, and I finished them all by myself. In addition, I ate a lots of appetizer. Overall, it was really good experience. I can't believe I could have all that food for only $34.95. read more
