We've used Halcyon Mobile Security Solutions for almost 5 years even through an ownership change for various upgrades, repairs, and new camera installations. Overall, the quality of their work has been solid once completed, and their technicians are knowledgeable and professional on-site. We did run into an issue with a camera that was sold to us by a previous rep (who is no longer with the company). The camera's speaker never worked as promised, and it took quite a bit of back and forth to troubleshoot. While the team eventually helped address the concern, communication delays made it harder to resolve quickly. Another recent project, getting a quote and installation for an additional camera -- took about two weeks from start to finish. While that's not terrible, shortening that turnaround could really improve the customer experience and help boost their sales, since responsiveness is key in this kind of service. Despite some bumps, we continue to use Halcyon because they do solid work once the ball gets rolling. With a few improvements to follow-up times and communication, they could easily earn that fifth star.

The installation was good, not great, but we have a large house and that creates some difficulties with system which is not hardwired. We have found the wi-fi connection to be perfect for our purposes, including simply using our phone if we were already in bed and too lazy to get up and walk to the main panel to set the night "stay" alarm. The monthly bill is within our capacity, but it might be more than others would want to pay. And special technical service is very expensive, $59 for the service call, but a lot more if onsite work is needed, starting at $189 for the first half-hour. In the past, one could get phone help, including direct conversation with technical support, but that seems to have disappeared. We discovered this when the battery in a motion detector sensor started to die and we bought a new battery, only to find that we could not open the sensor to get at the battery itself, even after watching videos from YouTube and ADT itself.

For a tile project, shouldn't there be an onsite evaluation to assess the work required? Moreover, if you had visited my location, I could have discussed two additional tasks that would significantly increase the scope and cost of the project to your advantage. In response to the owner, I did provide descriptions for additional projects in the original request. I was concerned about potential damage to the tiles that could require significant repairs. I have expressly said that I was willing to pay a premium for proper handling of the situation. When I mentioned those concerns, other providers did express a lot more caution about the tile situation and they came out to make sure it could be done. I understand that there's an opportunity cost to come out in person but I expected a premium service provider to be able to do so. That's simply not materialized.
