Customer service at Pioneer Security is absolutely OUTSTANDING! As a new customer, I was extremely impressed by the personalized assistance I received to discuss options regarding the upgrade capability of my existing 23 year old system (that was installed by company which is no longer in business). I spoke to the owner, Mr. Feldman, directly who made sure my specific concerns/questions were addressed and answered. That is something that doesn't happen every day! Subsequently, when I had an urgent request for service yesterday because of something dumb that I did (through no fault of Pioneer I might add), they had a technician at my house within an hour!! I highly recommend Pioneer for anyone looking for excellent customer service by management and technicians who 100% know the industry and specific security systems!! read more

Very difficult company to deal with. Software Alarm.com which they use is not intuitive and we had problems the first five months. When we had to reset the camera, I had to get up on the ladder myself and reset it and then the audio wasn't working, which was a software problem in the first five months and they charged me a trip charge. I would think there is some sort of # Warranty the first year of service. The claim that my son ripped apart the system is false. He inadvertently knocked off one of the internet extenders in the first month of service. Also, I was insistent on learning how to work the software system which they became very impatient with and because of that they consider me high maintenance. I would think paying $900 for the system and installation and then $85 a quarter for service would and entail some training, however, they were very impatient. Upon further investigation, I could've had the same system for only $400 including installation and only a five dollar a month fee for surveillance service which provides the same as Alarm.com. In a nutshell I feel I was over sold on a system. I was very happy to be relieved of the 36 month contract that I signed with them. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Pioneer and its staff. Having had numerous interactions with the larger security companies over the years, where I was clearly just a number, the personalized attention and willingness to make things right stands out right away. From the owner, Howard Feldman, to his amazing staff, Amanda and Suzanne, they never fail to go above and beyond. Just today, I had a problem that any other company would have asked me, on a Friday afternoon, to wait until next week to fix. Instead, they made it priority to get it fixed and did it right! Any of the malcontents leaving their one star reviews on here are the kind of people who are miserable with their lives and just live to complain. Instead, consider the glowing five star reviews (including this one!) and realize there is a reason there are so many of them. read more

We have worked with Pioneer Security and mainly Mr. Howard Feldman for several years. Mr. Feldman and his organization have been straightforward and excellent to work with. Pioneer has an excellent attention to detail and my experience is that they care about their clients. I personally being a senior executive in the security industry for the last 10 years realize that it's an extremely challenging industry. With that being said, even the best of companies can't have a 100% satisfied base. Thank you , Pioneer Security team for all of your efforts. read more

Do me a favor right now and try to googling Pioneer Security to check for reviews. You will not find a business Google account because they deleted for the same reason I am writing this bad review on Yelp. Yelp is one of the only businesses that doesn't let businesses delete their account. Instead, Pioneer Security get's their attorney involved to threaten businesses like mine. Buyer by aware! Do not work with this company. On September 14th, 2022 I called to inquire about canceling my services with Pioneer Security, because I did not like their system, and it does not work properly! The App constantly freezes and half the time we must manually disarm the system, so it really isn't a good system. I did not know that the term of our agreement is 5 years and ends on Jan 30, 2025. I was upset, but also was okay with it because I need security for my business. I just wish I had read the fine print and it was not clearly explained in an email by the owner prior to installation. I was lead to believe that it is a monthly fee and a 5 year contract! Then I was told that my "service will be cancelled today. Our technician will be there tomorrow to pick up our equipment as you do not own it. Suzanne" Absolutely no explanation was made that they were also going to be charging me me $1,646.40 for the remaining $55/monthly fees, plus $1,000 removal fee. Then less than the owner, Howard Feldman showed up to my office unannounced and with a extremely hostile threatening approach saying he was taking the equipment now. When it was my understanding that someone would by coming to my office on September 15th to remove the equipment. Again, they mislead me to believe that they were going to let me out of the contract, which is the only reason why I said okay to having someone remove your equipment. I ended up calling the police and the sheriff came because it was incredibly disruptive to my retail business, and he sounded like a crazy lunatic, and I was afraid that he would do something to physically harm me and/or my property. It was only after the Sheriff came to my office that he told me that Pioneer was not only going to take the equipment, but they are also going to charge me $1,646.40, plus $1,000 for Howard to show up unannounced! That was even more insane!!! Why in the world would I want to pay those fees upfront and then not have any security services? I told the Sheriff, if I am obligated to continue paying the remaining term with Pioneer security then I will continue my security services. I am not moving my business anytime soon. It sucks because now I definitely do not like Pioneer and their system, but I will not pay for services that I am not receiving. That makes zero sense! So, the Sheriff told Howard my decision and that was my complete understanding. That we were going to continue paying the $55 per month, per our agreement and then cancel the services when our term is up. Now today, I received a letter from their attorney Lawrence J Bartlett, that states otherwise. I do not appreciate the threats that their company is making. They are demanding that I remove the equipment myself by September 22, 2022. Where exactly does it state that in our agreement? Does it also state that Pioneer can come into my office at any moment and disrupt my business and then force me to pay for services and equipment that they are not willing to provide to my business, mainly because of this post on yelp. Their attorney offered to adjust off $1500 if I removed this Yelp post. The Yelp Add will remain!!! They are unable to remove their Yelp account, so instead they go after people like me with threats from attorney's. Again, horrible business practices!!! If we do end up going to small claims court. I'm confident that the judge will side in my favor. The truth speaks for itself!!! And I trust in the legal system. read more

In the past 20 years, due to some buyout of companies, I have had 4 different security companies. Probably the last one I had, was the most frustrating and the most "unsecure" of all of them. Their 4G system was so slow that when I initiated an unlock on the remote of my smart phone, I would wait up to 40 seconds or it would time out and I would have to re-input the code again. This is certainly not a safe system for a senior who wishes to go into the house as soon as possible and not sit in her car to retry the commands again! And then I saw that my house of worship had a new security system, Pioneer Security, so I decided to give them a try. It has been over a month and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with the system and the immediate response of the remote! This is the way a remote program is supposed to work! Thank you Howard! read more

My company purchased a rental property and used Pioneer Security for several years. We changed the phone service which caused the central monitoring to disconnect. When we called Pioneer to come and reconnect the new phone line the owner, Howard, then tried to upsell us on a new expensive system for thousands of dollars and didn't want to send a technician to actually look at the system. We had another company come out that was much more responsive and charged less for monitoring. The new company also gave us some recommendations to improve operation of the existing system. We had prepaid for a year of service and Howard refused to issue a refund for the remaining balance. In another review with this same complaint, Howard replied that they "need to be paid just like your other bills". If I prepay electricity, mortgage, or car the extra payment will either reduce my loan balance or get refunded. On a positive note, Suzanne has been helpful and friendly when we've called the office. We would never use Pioneer Security again and I wish I could give them no stars. read more

This company has done the alarm systems for me, my neighbors, and friends in Orange County. This is not a huge corporation and the owner is involved. Therefore I feel you get that intimate, personalized service the larger companies can not deliver. Install went great and they are very detail oriented. You will probably deal with the same installer during your time here as their employees have been there for a long time. They are familiar with the current, cutting edge products and are able to do alarms that are highly sophisticated like mine or more basic systems. After the install, you need to worry about monitoring. Our monitoring has been very good and they call back even on small things such as when a sensor has an isue and is reporting and error. My previous company outsourced the monitoring and many companies do that. I like the personal involvement and followup from Pioneer's monitoring staff. read more

I'm a small startup but Howard treats me like a big corporation. Super responsive, always ready to help and answer any question, even those that aren't urgent! I haven't had such an amazing experience in a while and particularly during Covid where other businesses seemed to have fallen behind with their customer service, Pioneer has gone above and beyond the other way. If there's more stars to give, I would! Cannot speak highly enough of them! read more

Don't waste your money with ADT. I had them for 5 years. The only time I needed it to work failed us. Found a much better company with real support. And a REAL alarm system that works. Honest and friendly. I recommend them to all small business owners. read more

I have been using Pioneer Security for my home for close to two decades. I can say without hesitation, they are the best. A local company where you actually speak to the owner, on a first name basis to discuss upgrades or changes. I cannot say I have had that experience with other home security companies, where you are treated more like an account number. How good are they? Well a recent attempted break in activated the system and they were on top of it making multiple calls. Fortunately, the intruder did not get in, thanks to the alarms. Very grateful for to have Pioneer Security System monitoring my home. Thank you Howard! read more

Recently had a security system upgrade and a life alert installed in my mother's home. We had an excellent experience with Pioneer. I have had service with Pioneer Sec for almost 14 years and recently terminated my contract. Here is the bottom line: Pros: it is a small company... Cons: it is small company... As a small operation you will likely be talking to the president of the company. This could be good or bad. He is a smooth talker but ultimately a businessman and not your friend. The negatives of working with a small company could, however, be significant. You will likely be paying for the equipment, maintenance and repairs (cost me a fortune to upgrade to a wireless service). When I recently switched to a large company, I got all new equipment and installation for free. Also, unlike working with large operations, you cannot really cancel your service with Pioneer at any time (well, you can, but you will be paying for the rest of your contract year). Read the fine letters in your contract; perhaps they have improved their conditions. With all security services you are essentially paying for a fancy operator. The alarm goes off, they get the signal and then call you or the police. Shop around for what works for you. read more

We have had Pioneer security for as long as they started their business. We referred people to them. Lately, due to to financial situation, we had to cancel our service. Unfortunately, they were not "Humane" about it, and told us they would not refund our payment for the last 3 months of our contract. We are paying for a service we are NOT receiving. They say the contract rolls over every year, and if you don't cancel before the end of that year, you are still responsible for paying the rest of the year. This is poor business and an outright disgrace. read more

Howard, the owner, was quick to come over and look at my house and worked to create a system that was within my budget. He is super responsive, and called back after the installation to see how I felt it went. He suggested a solution to cover up a wire that I felt was unsightly but couldn't be run in the wall. I've set off the alarm a couple of times, and the Pioneer call center was timely and helpful in their calls. I would definitely recommend this company! read more
