If I could give Cloud Security zero stars, I would. This was easily one of the worst service experiences I've ever had, and it starts with the owner, Dustin. He showed up with a condescending, lazy, and completely unprofessional attitude. Instead of doing any real troubleshooting, he spent most of the time deflecting responsibility and repeating, "I'm not a magician," like that somehow excuses not doing the job he was hired to do. It was obvious he was looking for ways not to fix the problem. Minimal effort, zero urgency, and no accountability. When I finally checked him on his attitude, the tone shifted immediately. The arrogance disappeared, and suddenly he backed down. It was clear he's comfortable talking down to people--until he's called out. The actual "work" was just as bad. He sat on my bed for an extended period doing next to nothing while waiting for the hotspot to reconnect, acting like that counted as troubleshooting. At one point, he even went through personal items in my home to find something to reset the device. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Four days later, I get a call from Marie (who I would guess is his mom) claiming she wanted to "understand what happened." That quickly turned into more of the same--deflection, excuses, and blaming the customer. She even raised her voice and said, "But did he fix the problem?" as if that wipes away the behavior. For the record, the issue was only resolved after he finally decided to replace the hotspot--something that could have been done from the beginning if he wasn't so busy avoiding the work. I've had plenty of technicians in my home over the years--never once had an issue like this. Not with me, not with my landlord, not with anyone. This was different. This was blatant disrespect paired with laziness and a complete lack of professionalism. At the end of the day, this feels like a company that lacks accountability from top to bottom. They are definitely different than all the generic ones That you typically find online and they do install and set up with great software for your iPhones and devices to monitor your home. Been using them since 2017, and have sent my checks and asked for absolutely zero until the last two months. First, I asked them to run a test on my alarm system. They started the test, said they were going to call the monitoring people to see if the alert went through, and they would call back. Never heard back. Strike one. Then earlier this month, my homeowners insurance made me aware that I could get a major discount if I could provide proof of coverage. Called them and asked for the very basic paperwork be emailed to me. Waited a week... nothing. Strike two. Called them about 5 days ago and asked about it again. Said it was on her "to do" list, and that she would do it when she could. Almost a week later, and still nothing. Strike 3. Bottom line, their installers/service folks are fantastic. Their front office/customer service is terrible, and if you look at their online presence (2018 GoDaddy form website, unclaimed Yelp profile, and an AOL address), it's pretty obvious this is a family owned business with some good things about it, but clearly stuck in the past and not really going to be providing much more service than being a glorified dispatch center if my alarm goes off (they've got 4 years of premiums without a single alert). I will not be renewing next year, and will just do like everyone else is doing and move to Simplisafe. I love supporting small businesses, but only as long as they provide good value for my money. We've been customers of Cloud Security for 16 years. They are a solid company who demonstrates that they care for their customers. Recently we had a planned power outage and our alarm system trouble light came on after power was restored. It was after hours so we called the 800 number for the monitoring service. They paged Dustin and he told us all of the steps needed to get our system back online. The next day I received a call from Cloud Security to follow up and to make sure that everything was OK with our system. Above and beyond! That's why we are staying with them! read more

Cloud Security Customer service is Horrible and I would not recommend them to anyone! We have been clients of Cloud Security since 2001. The Security system was already in place when we bought the house so we signed a contract. We had never had any issues until today, and it was a game changer! On 05/09/2022 at 8:47 A.M., I set the alarm and drove to San Ysidro. Unbeknownst to me my alarm was activated. From San Ysidro I drove to Home Depot and at 9:27 A.M., while checking out I received a call from my husband who was at work. He said our house alarm had been activated . I have an email from 2016 that was sent to LeAnn with specific instructions on who to contact in case our alarm was activated. (1.) Call the home phone, and if no one answers ( 2.) Call the police, then (3.) Call my husband's cell. Upon hearing the alarm had been activated from my husband, I rushed home. When I arrived home I could hear the alarm blaring and there was no police presence. Now our alarm had been going off for some time and with no response. I checked the perimeter for any sign of break in and found none, I then proceeded to enter with caution and checked every room. Once cleared I called Cloud Security and spoke with Marie. I was extremely upset, I gave her my full name and code word and told her my alarm had been activated. She responded nonchalantly OK. I asked, Marie where is the police? Why aren't they here? She replied, we don't dispatch! (1.) First lie. I told her I checked the perimeter for signs of break in and entered with caution unaccompanied. She replied, "Why didn't you call 911?" As I clearly stated earlier per email ( 1.) If no one answers the home phone (2.) The police are to be contacted. Marie said she would have to verify my written instructions and stated she would call me back. After an hour of waiting I called Cloud Security and it went to voice mail. Eventually she did call back but stated my written instructions said to call my husband's cell, not the police. (2.) Lie. I have the email that substantiates my claim. Our alarm was activated for close to an hour and the police were never contacted. Wow, let's rob this house. No one's working! This conversation was recorded , and at one point there was complete silence and I thought we had been disconnected. I said, Hello? She replied rudely Helllllo! Very unprofessional in dealing with a distraught customer! Whose instructions were completely ignored. And then to top it off , Marie states, "Well, if the police had been called they would of charged you!" That's a piss poor excuse for not doing your job in my opinion. But when all else fails redirect right? We pay Cloud Security to monitor our house alarm and our over all safety, but instead of doing what they're supposed to do, Marie feels it's her responsibility to make choices on our behalf in regards to our finances. Unacceptable! Now it turns out this was a false alarm, but what would of happened if it had been an actual break in? Unsatisfied client, we're not renewing our contract! read more

I purchased a Lorex Security Camera system from Costco a few years ago. I had to unplug it during an office remodel and it never came up running, so I started calling and trust me, no one wants to to an aftermarket installation, they want to sell you their overpriced system. I found Cloud Security Systems on Yelp and saw all their 5 star reviews so I called and low and behold I found the correct company that wants to do the right thing for the customer. Dustin informed me my DVR was the problem so I purchased a new one. Today I received my new DVR and I reached out to Cloud and well have a schedule to install. I'll update my review once it's up and running. Okay, so Dustin and Nolan from Cloud Security Systems came out and got my system up and running with my new DVR. They also got 2 cameras working that the previous company never got working. I couldn't be happier with these guys and this company. read more

I decided to go with cloud because they did the original installation of the house we bought. They generally seem to be very nice people. But in the end they overcharged for very minimal service. I was charged $80 for a tour of the security system that came with the house we bought. Well the tour took a total of 10 min. They spend some time trying to diagnose an issue of connecting the security system to the internet. Which brought the total to 135. Just doesn't seem like fair value to me. So remember nice people but you probably won't be getting a fair value for what they charge for their services. I will be looking around for some other comapnies read more

After being totally dissatisfied with ADT (who couldn't even figure out our correct names -- despite repeatedly correcting them), we switched to Cloud and are very pleased. With Cloud you will get kind customer service, a timely appointment, and clean work on the installation. I have had my security system for 3 years from Cloud. there's almost always someone at the office to answer a Q...I just had a rush request cuz of a battery issue that needed fixing asap and they came out quickly. Have been with Cloud Security for over 30 years and always had good service. I've recommended them to numerous people who used them and rec'd them to others. Cloud never raised rates in over 3 decades until a recent small increase - still a good value. In 2020 decided to upgrade the alarm system. LeAnne was helpful as always and patiently answered questions. She is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor so is always a pleasure to work with. Dustin, an installer, answered several questions over the phone regarding coordinating with replacing multiple windows. He & Nolan hurried over earlier than planned without complaint because the window team showed up an hour & a half early. They promptly went to work and were fast, efficient and friendly. While not cheap to upgrade the entire system, the cost was fair for all the components and labor. I highly recommend Cloud Security - good value and great customer service! read more

This place is great! Excellent customer service just like you used to get in the "olden" days. They have helped me promptly and courteously twice now when my alarm system has suddenly gone bezerk due to battery issues etc. We don't even have our home monitored by them but they still go out of their way to make the customer happy. The WORST customer service! Marie in the front office has zero customer service skills and is extremely abrasive. When the technician came to my house to give me a quote for an upgraded system and he offered to change my code, I had no idea there was a $85.00 charge to change my code. If I would have known I would of left my original code. I called Marie to explain that the $85.00 wasn't conveyed to me and she rudely dismissed me. I suggested that the technician should explain that charge before rendering the service and Marie condescendingly blew me off. To say the least we will NOT be using the service because of MARIE and that's sad because she is the owner....SMH! read more

I would use Cloud for any home I was installing a security system. You can call and reach someone right away, you aren't lost in a "phone tree" pushing numbers to be connected to a real person. Cloud Security is simply the best. They installed a security system in my new house over 24 years ago and have had no problems until recently. I called the office and LeeAnn explained that dirty contacts inside the keypad might be the problem and to try cleaning it with alcohol, or they could come out and do it for a small fee. I used to have a huge, nationwide security company- they were awful; they never got my name right (they insisted it was my ex spouse's account), they were too expensive, esp for service calls, and it took forever to get someone to come out. I changed to Cloud Security almost 20 years ago on the recommendation of a friend. I have been very happy. Marie and LeeAnn in the office remember me and are so willing to do anything to help, Dave comes out to fix things promptly, and their prices are so much more reasonable. I just call them when i have a problem, and it is taken care of. I have peace of mind. This is a small, local company that takes pride in protecting us and preventing burglaries. They will install cameras if you want, to allow you to watch your house from your cell phone. Check them out before you try to do a "do it yourself" system.
