The service was not very friendly. There were no greetings or smiles, and the staff were not attentive. The wait time was also longer than expected because they allowed people to take seats even when their full party had not arrived, so the waiting list arrangement needs improvement. It also seemed like some of the servers might be family members, and the sanitation practices were concerning. I saw staff handling bean sprouts with bare hands, and their fingernails looked dirty. I would suggest that servers use gloves when handling food. That said, one big compliment is that the food is delicious. The Pho Supreme is good, though the meat portion is a bit smaller than expected. I always love an impromptu discovery of a great restaurant. Was on our way back from a road trip and looking for a convenient and quick stop for dinner. Thanks to Yelp, found Omeli tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. They still had their "Soft Opening" sign up from summer 2023 and it's well into January at this point. I've been to a number of vietnamese-peruvian fusion restaurants before but this place was something special. The selections on the menu were all great! I'm used to eating (and making my own) oxtail noodle soup (Pho Duoi Bo) but I've never had it as an oxtail fried rice. I decided to give that a try and was impressed by how they managed to maintain the tenderness and flavor of the oxtail in the dry entree. It was really well executed. The ribeye garlic noodles was a nice spin on the garlic noodle dishes you see popping up everywhere. They're not afraid to be creative with their menu, trying different combinations in their concoctions, and it's paying off. Even their drink options were appealing. I love peach puree, I love yuzu, and I love lemonade, put it all together and you get a nice deja-vu lemonade! Excited to see what new and interesting things they add to their menu. This is really a 3.5 stars for me. The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Fullerton, so plenty of parking. The interior is ok; they made an attempt to make it nice. Service was friendly, but slow. Here's what we ordered. Garlic salt calamari: good, but could have used more garlic salt. Spicy wontons: not bad, but we've had better. Oxtail rice: looks like this is no longer on the menu, but we weren't very impressed. Just tasted like regular fried rice to us. Grilled tiger shrimp garlic noodles: again, good, but we've had better. Lomo saltado: def not traditional, but not bad. Overall, we felt the food was fine, but not necessarily worth the drive and price. Portions were decent, but we wouldn't drive out to eat there again. Super cute Vietnamese Peruvian fusion restaurant! Came with a few friends on a late Sunday afternoon and the place was bustling! Luckily, we were able to get seated fairly quickly. They offer some unique teas and coffee we couldn't resist trying. I got the Taro Coffee and it was rich, but not too sweet. Loved the added taro flavor with the strong Vietnamese coffee. My friends got the Pacific Ocean, Lychee Peach Iced Tea and Deja-Vu Lemonade and they enjoyed all of them. For starters, we shared Fried Wontons and Popcorn Chicken. The pork and shrimp filling in the wontons were well seasoned and juicy! The generous amount of popcorn chicken was perfect for sharing. Grilled Pork with Rice: loved the ginger flavors in the grilled pork, which balanced well with the salad, pickled cucumbers and rice. Beef Belly Pho: the broth was amazing and so comforting with each slurp. They do not skimp on the meat either! Macaroni Filet Mignon: The filet mignon was incredibly tender and was simmered in a delicious Asian fusion sauce with al dente rice macaroni, and veggies. The servers were so nice and attentive. Ordered takeout from Omeli Kitchen and had a mixed experience overall -- some bright spots, but also areas for improvement. I tried the Lomo Saltado and Nui Xao Bo (Macaroni Filet Mignon Beef). The Lomo Saltado stood out with its super crunchy fries, which added a great texture contrast to the rest of the dish -- definitely a highlight. However, both dishes were on the salty side, and the sauces leaned sweeter than expected -- even for a Vietnamese fusion concept. It might be too sweet for those expecting a more traditional Vietnamese or Peruvian-Chinese flavor balance. The packaging could use more attention. I've been coming to Omeli since the beginning--back when it was a hidden gem--but today was easily the WORST experience I've ever had. We placed a to-go order and waited an eternity while watching the dining room clear out. When I asked to switch to dine-in since tables were open, I was told our food was "already packed" and couldn't be served at a table. About 10 minutes later, I was still waiting for that "packed" food. After asking a different server to check, she pulled our bag from off the kitchen floor. It had been sitting there the whole time, completely ignored. To make matters worse, no one apologized for the wait or the unsanitary handling of our food. Orange County really spoiling us with great Vietnamese fusion food. Omeli Kitchen features a primarily Vietnamese menu, with Peruvian influences in some of their dishes. Sunday at 3pm the place was pretty full, very unexpected for an off peak time, but usually a good sign. The interior has plenty of seating and the staff was very attentive, even during a full house they were able to tend to customer needs. Fried Wontons: Crispy, crunchy and juicy pork and shrimp filling! I prefer the fried dumplings over a steamed one. Popcorn Chicken: Pairs well with the sweet and sour sauce, mild in flavor. Broken Rice with Grilled Pork: Refreshing dish and the meat was super flavorful and tender, great rendition of a classic Vietnamese broken rice dish. Beef Belly Pho: Broth was flavorful and the beef belly as protein was surprisingly delicious as compared to the normal leaner pho tai. OMELI Kitchen is very similar to Kei Concepts' Vox Kitchen and Sup Noodle Bar and I love it! For their pho, they offer limitless noodles just like Sup Noodle Bar and the short rib is so tender it falls off the bone very easily. I will say I do prefer Sup Noodle Bar's broth and noodles a little more, but OMELI's pho is still very great and tops many other pho restaurants. Also, with limitless noodles you really cannot beat the price! As for the garlic noodles, I will say OMELI's is just as good or honestly better than Kei Concept's. The garlic noodles itself is just as good but the ribeye is where OMELI takes it for me. The ribeye is soooo tasty and cooked well ESP with the green sauce on the side. It is a must try if you ever come here. My only complaint is that it is pretty pricey ($24-25). Overall I was very satisfied and I will definitely be back to try their Lomo Saltado! Similar to the many Viet fusion restaurants, Omeli provides a handful of delicious dishes guaranteed to fill you up and knock you out with flavor. We ordered the lychee drink and coconut coffee as beverage items. That coconut coffee gave me flashbacks of when I fell in love with it in Sa Pa, Vietnam!!! For appetizers we ordered some summer rolls which were bomb and filling. For mains we got the Bun Thit Nuong, tender beef fried rice, and short rib pho. Omg, so much meat, so much flavor, so much love went into everything. I absolutely found a hot spot that has by far the best beef fried rice and coconut coffee I've had in a while. I also must add that they are located in a plaza with plenty of parking. No need to be anxious about that here. The only bad thing I have to say is that I wish they were closer to me. Stopped at this restaurant for dinner with some friends on a Saturday evening. We came just before rush hour so the place was mostly empty and our party of 6 was seated quickly. The interior decor was simple but flattering. I'll be honest and say I did not have high expectations of the Vietnamese/Peruvian fusion. The menu was pretty limited compared to a typical Vietnamese restaurant. It did take a moment for someone to come take our order but I am very glad to say my expectations were blown away after tasting the food. We chose a variety of plates - lomo saltado, bun thit nuong, ribeye garlic noodles, and one friend got the daily special which was a soft shell crab curry. The entrees were plated nicely and the presentation made them look great. The bun thit nuong tasted authentic and the lomo saltado was so flavorful with tender cuts of beef. My sister, who is usually not a fan of beef, was actually eating and enjoying it. I also thought it was a nice change of pace with the fries being crispy because they're typically soggy at regular Peruvian restaurants. My friend who got the soft shell crab curry was actually the first one of the day who ordered it, and did not leave a single thing on his plate after - I tried a bite and it was packed with flavor as well. By the time we were getting up to leave, there were people outside waiting for tables to open up.
