Came for the first time on a whim. They took me right in. Jennifer did a great job on my nails. Donnie did my pedicure. He wasn't as good. Kinda rushed and didn't get all my cuticles. I went there to have my nails done for the first time. I was a walk in, and while I know I should've made an appointment they said it was fine I come in to have a manicure done. It all felt very rushed, even though when I came in I was the only person having a manicure. At the end I had polish all over my fingers, and my nails were stuck to my skin underneath on a few of my fingers. There's a photo of the chunk of polish I pulled out from under my nail. Now today, a week later my gel polish has lifted off of my finger entirely. And I'm planning to leave town tomorrow. Now one finger won't have any polish. I walked in for a pedicure and to have my daughter's nails polished and was greeted and sat down right away. Everyone in the salon was very welcoming and it was very clean and became busy fast. Even with it becoming busy each person that walked in was greeted and helped in a timely manner. Got sat with an older gentleman for a fill with acrylic. Right from the start he was sanding my nails pretty aggressively. It's hot and I twitch and at one point I tell him that it burns, but he kept going at the same aggressive pace and speed. He laid the acrylic and then went back and used two different drills underneath my nail beds completely burning the skin underneath my nails. Not only did he use six different nail bits throughout this entire process, but he applied heavy pressure every single time. It was very obvious I was coming uncomfortable. My hands became super sweaty. I started pulling away when it was burning. But finally, he finished filing and I pick out a cat eye design off their board. He tries multiple times and cannot do the design, even though it's on their sample nail (French tip looking cat eye) as a style they offer. But as all of this was going on with the nail color, my nails were still continuing to burn more and get really sore. I asked him if I could just pay for what he had done now and leave. I told him how he filed way too aggressively that my nails were burning. I showed him where my nails were extra red. Months worth of work on taking care of my nails completely ruined. I've gotten my nails done consistently for around five years, and I've never had this level of burning and redness in my nails. He still had the audacity to charge me full price for the service. read more

It was $115 for my full acrylic set and I was there for about 2 and a half hours! I showed her a picture and she did it!! Only other minor concern is one of my nails is kind of curved to the side so that's annoying but she's pretty damn good and very funny! Got my nails done on tuesday, It's saturday and two of them are coming off. One of the nail techs that WAS doing my nails really f**cked up the acrylics. Had to have them filed and literally gelled over top by two different people, after that both the nail techs I had disappeared for over half an hour while my nails were no where close to done. No one wanted to tell me they couldn't do the design I wanted so I was passed around the salon like a hot potato. $142 dollars for bad nails and not so great service. Don't waste your time! This review began with three starts, as my nails looked good at first. I made another appointment with "Jenny." My daughter used my own words to remind me people are not who they are on their bad days. I checked in and waited, and someone called the salon. Then they handed me the phone to speak to "Jenny." Unfortunately, she was running around doing "errands for the salon. Let my cousin do your nails. He's good too. I promise. He's good too." I agreed. I was in Wilmington for a medical appointment. He asked, "did she say I was her boyfriend?" I told him, "no, cousin." It was a pleasant experience. He talked to me, Fran (?), and Alex, greeted guests and appointed technicians from his handwritten notes, all while doing my nails. I listened to Fran say gel x nails are soft tips and can bend easily. Her client cut them down short like I usually do. I went longer this time with a beautiful fall set. I initially wanted a variation of fall colors, but it seemed confuse when I explained or showed pictures. The result was lovely. I enjoyed the conversation and tipped $20. Two days later, my pointer nail fell off, and the next day, the opposite one fell off. I began prepping for thanksgiving when another fell off. I became nervous because nails can't fall off in food. They all felt unstable. I removed the remaining ones a week after getting them on Thanksgiving. They were supposed to last four weeks. I'm glad I did; water was getting between my nails and the Gel X tips. I did try, and the set looked great. read more

If you want almond shaped nails, theyll apparently give you whatever shape they feel like, if you have an appointment with "Jenny from the block" apparently you'll get whoever they throw at you. I had a set put on there on a Wednesday and I chipped one on fri so I came to have it fixed. the owner asked what I want I told her a fix. she never asked what type or product. she told me to sit at a station and I heard her telling the girl something American in her language. I told her no, it wasn't right. the owner said she don't know what I used on nails and I told her Ask me then!! she got mad and said I did I did, long story short the owner was a pushy rude loud mouth lady. she started talking to the other workers in her language and walked away. I felt disrespected and be littered by this professional... I gave them 5 .00 and walked out. Never been treated so rudely by a person. no one trued yo make it better or talk to me. Where do I even begin... first I made my full acrylic appointment with fernanda turns out that she was sick they didn't let me know but they said they could still take me. I excepted because I thought that what I had chosen was easy enough for anybody to do. Turns out I didn't even get acrylics I got something called gel X which they didn't tell me till they were already on. They're basically gel press on's. Then the lady got up (I guess the manager) and she switch with somebody else. Then it turns out that they don't even have one of the sizes for my finger so they end up using a different size and trying to make it smaller by shaving it down. RED FLAG! Then I guess the manager came back and finished up my nails and she kept cutting me. To be honest I did already have a small hangnail but she just kept going at it scratching me with her nails. I pulled my hand back a couple of times and she kept saying sorry. instead of wiping access gel polish with a towel she was wiping it off with her nails cutting me once again. She was coughing all over the place, in the beginning she tried to cover her mouth or had her mask on and then after a while I guess she got tired because we had already been there for two hours and she started coughing on me. I came in at the exact same time as someone who got ga full acrylic set with butterflies and sugar scrub and she finished in one hour yet I was still here two hours and a half later. The reason why I probably took so long was because the manager that was doing my nails kept getting up and taking other customers cashing them out and then yelling at her employees because she was short staffed. Honestly when she got to the gel part on my nails I wanted her to just stop because they looked awful and they weren't even the colors that I wanted but I was trying my best to push through because I wasn't trying to be rude. I honestly just wanted to leave and she could sense that I wasn't happy so she asked me if she could add butterflies to my nails to make up for it which I declined because I didn't wanna be there any longer. She kept saying she was sorry and she wasn't rude or anything she definitely was trying her best. But the results are just not what I wanted and I ended up leaving crying so upset with my nails I'm just gonna have to go fix them and the problem is I'm literally leaving for vacation and I wanted them to be perfect. I ended up paying $70 for nails that I didn't even like and yes I still tipped her because I understand being understaffed and I've been a server I know what it's like to not get tipped even when you're trying your best but they're still pretty shitty nails. read more

I should've read the reviews before I went here to get a pedicure last night. The woman that did my nails was very nice but my pedicure and polish were horrible. She barely did anything. She clipped my nails and then did not file them to make them even. They were jagged and awful. When she polished them she put the polish on so thick and messed up so many times that by the time she was done they were lumpy and gross looking and never fully dried. Made an appt for 2-only one nail tech to do 2 sets. She rushed through us both. Wasnt friendly at all. We should have left. But, she had already started on my friend and there was a nail tech sitting there doing absolutely nothing. 2.5 hours to do us--she didnt do cuticles, acrylic glue was sloppy and is embedded in my cuticles, giving the nails a very sloppy look. She is a really nice person and does good work the other techs in the salon are more professional and attentive than she is. But if you go here Baaaabbbbyyyyy be prepared to wait for hours and hours and hours to get your nails done. My sister went here and was a loyal customer for over a year on several occasions and never left the shop sometime until 10 pm, 11pm, and on one time after midnight. (We all told her fine a better salon) She was told by Jenni we can sing and have a party and drink Patron. What professional salon manager/owner says things like that. If anyone truly reads these reviews I EMPLORE you to go somewhere else and get your nails services completed in a timely manner. Let me first say the customer service at the salon is good everyone is friendly and very welcoming. I enjoy Jenny from the block as she calls herself she is fun and her talent for doing nails is top-notch. However, the downfall is that it should not take 3 to 4 hours to get gel-x full-set and a pedicure. Every time I've gone I've been in the salon at the max of 4 or more hours. I always went cause the service is good most of the time but the wait time is HORRIBLE!!!!! at least 5 to 6 of my friends have gone and all have said they will NEVER go back again. Jenny is never focused on one client at a time she is up and down doing one thing or another; if she can ever focus on the one client in front of her it would be great. I think she feels because her personality is bubbly and she talks face that she can keep customers in the store. She herself has said I can talk people into anything she wants them to do as far as service in the salon. She will offer discounts on service and drinks from beer to Patron, wine etc.... whatever you drink she got it. But if you want quality and expedient service without the long wait this is not the place to go.
