Me and my mom went there to get mani pedi's and the pedicures were great no problems there. When I went to get a full set gel manicure the lady who did my nails took way longer than expected. She kept getting up every time someone walked in the door or needed to check out when there were other employees to take care of them, which made the service take longer. I don't mind letting someone get trained by doing the service for me but since the one lady that was doing my nails had another lady start my other hand and she was supposed to be doing my mom's nails which took her attention away from my moms manicure. When filing the shape of my nails she cut into my finger and it bled a little and she didn't even acknowledge it. When it came time to check out we spent over $200 because she charged extra for some things she used for my manicure that I didn't ask for. Overall my manicure was sloppy and did not meet expectations. I'm not one for bad reviews, and the gentleman that did my pedicure, Vinny, was amazing, but I will not be back here. read more

I've been going to GDN Nail Bar regularly for close to a year. They have been consistently awesome with the gel mani and gel pedi treatments that I get. I usually see Kyara and sometimes Shay. They both have done amazing work. This salon uses magic remover instead of acetone, so it is much gentler on the nails. I don't even feel discomfort when getting polish removed, which is amazing. There is a wide selection of polishes available. The thing I love about Kyara is that she has the skills to do adventurous things with my nails. For Halloween she did orange and black foil nails, one time she did rose gold chrome nails, and for pride weekend she did rainbow nails for me. There is usually a slight upcharge if you're getting something special. Kyara sometimes comes in early. So, if you're lucky, you can land a before-hours appointment with her. When I first learned that GDN stood for "Guys Do Nails," I was concerned that it was a place for men. It is very friendly for men, women, and non-binary people. The decor is masculine, but it is well done and I always feel pampered when I go here. read more

We started out with that to give my nails time to grow and eventually swap over to acrylics when my nails grow to the desired length! Every visit I've left ecstatic with my sets! I was given a gift certificate to GDN Nail Bar in Wilmington by my daughter. On the front of the paper handwritten certificate it has the normal To: / From: / Amount: etc... However, on the reverse of the certificate, it had a handwritten 1 year validation. unfortunately, I did not think to turn the certificate over to inspect for hidden clues. I called the shop hoping that maybe they would still honor the certificate. It was surely in their right to say "Sorry, we can't honor it". The entire staff was sweet and funny. I got the gel nails which lasted a whole month. They also pay really good attention to your nails and cuticles. Here's an inside tip for you----if you want an instant $5.00, pay with cash! Appointments are a must! They also offer express manis and pedis! I was in and out with both in less than an hour. Jen, receptionist is rude and condescending. She kept trying to charge me for services that I did not receive because she was insisting that the person who did my services was who she thought it was and it was not. I understand that people want cash tips but usually you have an option so I tried to use the ATM which deducted money out of my account but never gave me any cash so therefore no tips and on top of that when I paid for my services they charged me an additional 4%. I don't mind paying for something but that policy should be posted and when I questioned it she was so nasty and said yeah we just pass those prices along. The saddest part is that the technicians were very good they did very nice manicures and pedicures. I will never go back there and I warn everyone to stay away. read more

1st of all ... Technicians were great. Very good pedicures. We are giving 2 star review because #1. We paid for paraffin wax (additional $10) & the wax machine would not heat enough wax so as I got my feet done, my husband got 1 foot done. Then about 10 mins later , The wax finally melted and he was able to get his other foot done. The management would not give us any discounts even know it was not as relaxing an experience as we had hope it paid. #2. We did not appreciate that a nail technician sitting across from us was vaping right there at manicure bar. Not cool in a full salon. We are still living though a pandemic & not good seeing such an unhygienic practice. read more

I never write reviews but I had to for this place. I went in and showed them exactly what I wanted and I got the most sloppy copy of the picture I showed them. My nails were clear when I left. You could see my original nail right through them. I got a clear nail and some lines.. not what I asked for at all. I went in to have them change it and they set up an appointment the next day but made me feel stupid. I was too nervous to go back because of how rude they were to me. I just want to say that I tried so hard to like this place. Each star is for each time I've been there. I've been to the Racine location twice before COVID, and the princess location once after COVID began. The times I was at the Racine location I was so uncomfortable because the nail techs were just talking smack about customers once they left or felt comfortable making comments about your feet while receiving a service. I have social anxiety and this made it worse: would they be making comments about me once I left? When I was at the princess location I got a pedicure by someone who was in her own world. She was so focused on the conversations everyone else was having, that while she attempted to remove an ingrown she cut my toe and I bled. I didn't say anything, and she attempted to make it seem like nothing happened. This place is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5. Here's 3 reasons why I'm recommending it to all my baby's mamas, mamas mamas... and all of you! 1. CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Can't say enough about the level of customer service here. It's so refreshing to be greeted at the door and have someone tell you where to sit and wait or direct you to your nail station. It's always so awkward when someone is yelling at you from the back of a room "you have appointment?" and you aren't sure what to do. I arrived for my apt and they sat me down immediately - no waiting. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make conversation and make you feel like you're welcome there. Even got a farewell from the owner on my way out the door. Complimentary drinks are offered (hollaaa) and as established by other reviews you can play video games while getting a pedicure which is just really cool. 2. Quality - my nails look fantastic. Even though I just went in for a polish change she evened my nails up and used those clipper things on the skin that was splintered. I'm super happy with the color and quality of the finish. My nail shape is exactly how I like it and no one argued with me about the shape I wanted or told me "that's why you no have boyfriend." (Angela Johnson anyone??) She was super quick as well! It seems like they've gone out of their way to use the best quality of everything - including the super quick nail dryer! 3. Cleanliness - This place is super clean, neat and tidy. You aren't shoved an over full crate of old/crappy gel color options or sent to a wall with nail polish spilling over the sides of all the bottles. **Bonus - prices are totally reasonable and in line with local pricing around town Overall this place feels like the perfect go to in between a fancy (aka expensive) spa and corner nail salon where you don't get a smile and avoid eye contact while wondering if you're being talked about in another language for wanting squared nails...
