I just got the BEST pedicure of my life! I'm from Wilmington and I've tried A LOT of places, but nobody compares to Zairy at TLC Nails. She took her time, paid attention to every little detail, and the massage was AMAZING. You can tell she genuinely cares about her work and making sure her clients leave happy. Everything was also super clean, which is always a huge plus! 10/10 recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect pedicure read more

TLC Nails - My beautiful nails! - Nail Salons Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Not good they destroyed my nails after a full set. They used dental bond instead of acrylic. I only know because I went through training in beauty school and it's happened before. Lessons learned not ever going back and never getting nails again. Took months to get off and they destroyed my daughter's nails also ugh!!!! read more

Ignore the poor reviews from people with unrealistic expectations. Make an appointment, understand there is a credit card processing fee that is obviously stated, and be aware of the current inflation and other issues that are affecting every industry. I made an appointment for 4:30, arrived right on time and was seated promptly. Some nail salons ignore appointments and just seat everyone in the order they arrive. The two that were waiting as a walk in were seated very shortly after me. My tech was professional and did an incredible job. I'm on my feet for 40+ hours a week so this is my monthly treat to try to take care of my feet & legs. She did a wonderful job and it was consistent with my first visit there, about 6 weeks ago. The deluxe pedi is the way to go! great price for a 45-55 minute service and the gel polish is so wonderful. It lasts so long and is usually so much more expensive than regular. Its included with the deluxe! Can't recommend enough. Clean, professional, and courteous. Looking forward to my next one! read more

I happened to be in the area, stopped in on a whim. I did a full set acrylic gel and eyebrow wax. I was kind of bummed on the experience though, my nail technician had to take a call from her daughter which I absolutely am cool with. What was the bummer was that she wasn't suuuuuper concerned with getting off the phone, I just kind of awkwardly listened for a few minutes. And it happened again, and both times she didn't acknowledge it and moved on which again was kind of lame but not a huge deal. I think what made me overall not really psyched on the experience was the quality itself for the price. For $74 and change, where the eyebrow was was $12, the edges are kind of all over the place, the layers were bumpy, and I got some bubbles. I can't lie I really liked the salon set up, and want to go back for a pedicure because...those chairs I wish I had a picture! they had an awesome set up for deciding on the nail colors, and the woman who did my nails was practicing designs in between clients and was SO talented. It could have been a long day and I was a walk in, but I was surprised by the price, especially after the manicure set. read more

I've been to several nail salons in Wilmington and TLC is definitely in my top 3! Sometimes there is a wait, but that's so be expected at a great salon. I get the liquid gel and every time it lasts 3-4 weeks before I need a fill. Will definitely keep going back. read more

I had a much better experience this time. I tried this place again because I was near there and needed something done right away. I was greeted this time and only waited about 20 minutes. TLC Nails - THREE weeks old, so they're lifting a tiny bit at the cuticle.... BUT No color fading, chipping, etc - Nail Salons Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Well, I hate writing a bad review; and I held off as long as I could but I felt inclined to share. I had a gel polish change -- I've had MANY in my day. It was my first time going to this salon. I had high hopes because it was very clean, and seemed to be well populated. Unfortunately when I left I realized my polish wasn't well done. The lines were not clean, the edges were bumpy and the nail tech didn't cover the top edge of my nail. Additionally, it's been one day and one has ALREADY chipped. It was my off day today too -- so I wasn't even using my hands for work or at the gym and still I have a cracked polish. I also had to file a few on the edges when I got home because they were bumpy or kept getting caught on my sweater. The removal of my gel prior to the polish change was the first time I ever had pain in that process. It wasn't pleasant or relaxing. The nail tech was quite rude as well. He also left my polish in the bathroom? And then went to get it. Gross, why are techs taking things they use on clients into the bathroom?? I tried to let the tech's snarky comments go and give the benefit of the doubt but because the job has ended up so poorly I felt inclined to include this. They made me feel uncomfortable. I won't be returning unfortunately. Bummer, and $20 + tip down the drain. Chips in 24-48 hours and all around a bad experience. If my nails weren't so bad in the next day or so I'm sure my review would be different but my nAils were butchered. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience I've ever had at this salon. I do not usually write reviews, but had to after my service today. I asked to get my gel x manicure removed and get a classic manicure after. The guy doing my nails had filthy hands with lots of dirt embedded in his fingernails. He was very scattered and kept on dozing off has he was trying to remove my nails. He was trying to scrape them off and it was not successful. My nails ended up being more damaged than when I have previous gotten them off at any other salon. I did not continue with a classic manicure because of this experience. I was unpleased and he became more rude to me once all of the nails were off. There is even some of the gel x residue still on my thumb even after I pointed it out to him. This was a terrible experience and I will not be returning. read more

My friend and I went for 2 pedicures waited 40 minutes to be seated, after we finally got seated they started on my friend and they told me someone was como soon. My friend was done with hers and they still haven't started with me after waiting another 40 minutes someone finally came. The person who came I guess was a new person because I didn't have any of my cuticles cut or did any cleaning around my nails. My friend and I got the same pedicure which was the Deluxe one Hers took around an hour and 10 mins I was done in 35 minutes. read more

I'm very impressed with their work. The price is very nice too. Finally, when you go near target in Wilmington; go over to TLC.

I've gone here a couple of times and they usually do an okay job. Today I had a not so good experience and certainly over priced. I had a basic pedicure with basic polish. $36. Nothing great. No massage. No cuticle trim. Water was scalding hot. No callus removal. So basically a foot soak, polish removal and repainted. My nails were in bad shape. Super brittle after taking dipping powder off and not having anything on to protect them due to my job not allowing polish (not even clear). I asked for a basic manicure to remove dead cuticles and clean them up. Again I had no polish replaced. I had to ask for her to remove dead skin. Didn't clean under nails. No paint at all. No had massage at all. $21. WTH. Charged a $2 convenience fee and I tipped her because she was new and so young. I couldn't say anything because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. I'm disappointed that I spent $70 that I could have done myself. Literally in there for 30 min. I don't mind paying for service but I expect service that matches the price. The manager just messaged and asked something and now the comment is gone ‍. Bottom line is I did not get the service I paid for. read more

Sorry , this place has changed. All the nail techs we knew are gone. Quit? Replaced? Moved? They won't say.You can't make a prior appts. So girls day out? Wedding parties? Sorry. The Asian girls fib saying "well be right with you" "you next" then wait for an hour or more. Customer service is lacking here and theres attitude, sadly. When an apology is due to a customer and the owner gets sassy, BOOM, that customer will never return. Two of my friends will never return. The place remains very clean and posh but unless you speak the language you'll never converse with anyone. Its unfortunate. I enjoy the location. Salons are everywhere. The challenge is on. read more

I was lucky to have Son for my technician, he did a great job and we had a wonderful chat :]

I relocated from Tampa Florida in Jan. most of all the techs. have done my nails including the owner & not one has disappointed .. Keya

Did not have a good experience. I was disrespect and treated unprofessional not by the tech, but by the owner and manager. I was speaking to the tech about information tha she had given me when the owner attacked not only the tech but me for agreeing with the tech. Instead, of her deescalating the situation after reminding her that I was the customer she continued to verbal attack me. I will never return to that spa. Respect and professionalism starts at the top and as the manager she was neither. Bad experience. I hope you notice that when the review are not favorable the owner discredit the customers experience. Sh read more

I've had consistently great service here! Great quality of the actual work and atmosphere as well!

Date of service: 7/21/2020 I truly cannot say enough good things about this nail salon...one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to experience! From the moment I entered (Walk in), it was just lovely. The decor and cleanliness is absolutely top notch! I love the beach decor and learned from the owner, later, that she had expanded the store during the first onset of COVID-19. It is impressive, also, she put so much work into complying with the CDC regulations for social distancing, etc. The staff all wears masks and, as mentioned previously, the cleanliness of the store as well as the bathrooms is stellar!! I didn't realize my nail technician was the owner, Sun, until about halfway through my gel manicure (which was AMAZING I might add!!!). She was so kind and was so gentle with my cuticles. I must also say that I drove a good way from my house (after calling for an appointment at another highly rated nail salon- who lost my business forever due to their rude phone behavior!!!), based on their high rating on Yelp. I can surely see why they have such good reviews!! When I called TLC, they were so very kind and welcoming even though they weren't sure if I was going to come in or not!! That is impressive! I will surely return and will be a loyal customer for our nail and foot 'treats'. Thank you, Sun...you are a lovely person and soul...I am glad and lucky to have met you!! See you soon!! read more

I went yesterday last minute (my fault) looking for someone that does 3D nail art and the very few in town that do, were booked.I spent nearly 20min in Nail Today on market st after a male tech told me they do it (and it's written on their building) for a woman to come out while I was choosing my colors to tell me they DO NOT do it. So that led me to TLC. I walked in with a few pictures and she (I should have gotten both of their names) looked at the photos and seemed hesitant. She said sure, I can do it. A shorter woman sat and color matched the acrylic and gels to set the other woman up to do my nails. They were all super excited about it and she nailed the photo perfectly. They were so sweet. I came with my nails already filled, buffed, and filed, I just wanted art. It's quite pricey (for what I wanted, I have very long nails) but it was worth every penny. I would definitely go back! ***woke up today and 70% of my diamonds are missing. I primarily do my own nails so I can replace them. They were only attached by setting them in a gel top coat and a few just a dot of nail glue- not secure enough! I set my stones in builder gel and they don't come off until I remove them. A little disappointed in that and I should have said something at the time. I'll know for next time. read more

My classic pedicure was nice and relaxing. The calm music was the perfect volume. Walk ins are welcomed!

I reached out to a number of nail salons in Wilmington hoping thet could fit me in before Christmas (i.e. Dec 24th). TLC Nails got back to me quickly so I booked with them. The salon is located within a strip mall across the street from Target pretty far from downtown where I was staying. I booked a gel manicure and regular pedicure for 9/9:30am when they opened arrival, they weren't ready and seemed confused. One of the ladies asked if I had a preference of technician and I told her I'd never been there before, so she stuck me with someone who recently started at TLC from Indiana (she moved to Wilmington a week ago). I forget her name but she was nice. She did have a problem understanding me, English seemed to be her second language. The pedicure took FOREVER which pissed me off! I chose a regular pedicure but I didn't expect it to take over an hr! They do have an express option that supposedly takes ~30mins but I never imagined the regular would be twice as long. Especially after I had talked to the manager over the phone to set up the appointment and he said I'd be out within an hr or so. Then I was ushered to the manicure station which again she seemed a bit lost and wondered around the back for supplies. Of course I wanted a holiday design which I regretted since I was already there for over 2hrs at that point. She did her best but not the best and even said to me that my nails were too short to do the design. I live in NYC, been to many salons and I've never had that problem so I blame it on lack of experience or expertise. Overall this experience was slash dash at best despite my technician's efforts to be friendly and give me a relaxed environment. The amount of time it took that are out of my work day was very disappointing. Also the rudeness of the other ladies who never helped my technician nor thought it best to pair me with someone more seasoned, especially for my FIRST visit to the salon. read more

This was the second nail salon I have been to in the area and I think it will be the one I return to. The technician I had, May, was super awesome, very quiet but did an amazing job on my nails. It did not take nearly as long as other places I have gone to and she was polite and was able to cut my nails short and file them down exactly like I wanted. I will definitely request her when I go back. The overall salon is clean and bright. They have HGTV playing, which is my jam. I love a good HGTV show while relaxing, except I didn't get to see the final showing because I was done! haha. There are a ton of gel colors to choose from, they make note of the ones that will cost you extra which is nice so there aren't any surprises. VERY nice people at this business.... However...I was alarmed that they do not use liners in their pedicure bowls. I watched a person walk over to clean up her station and just swish some water around the bowl and left it to drain. NO sanitation whatsoever. ALSO... the nice lady doing my pedi picked up tools from a basket at her station and began using them on me. NO evidence of sanitation from previous use. I'm used to watching then open "sanitized bags" at my home location. I truly hope the owners see this review and fix these potentially dangerous practices. Otherwise a very nice place and people! read more
