my nails are completely ruined & damaged after going to this salon. the gel polish fell off in the shower, but that wasn't even the main concern. the guy i had filed my nails down to the skin (into my nail plate), leaving huge marks on my nails and my nails so brittle i cannot do much at all. after taking the polish off, i have to grow out my nails again, because of how damaged they are. you can see where the guy filed too much of my nail, creating a divot in my nails to my skin. i wish i could give this zero stars, but i can't. thanks to this salon, i have to grow out my nails again before putting anything else on. read more

Nails Q - my nails after this experience. you can see how brittle they are, and tearing off - Nail Salons Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Went for the first time and wasn't pleased. My nails hardly lasted a week and a half, they fell off in the shower because they kept getting caught in my hair. I've never seen anything come off like that before, just peeled right off. I had an appointment for a gel manicure and still waited roughly 30-45 mins before being sat. There also was no music and was just dead silent, I won't be going again, a waste or my time and money. read more

I wish I could rate it a 0, but I can't. I can't even describe the pain of having eyebrows that look this bad. I cried for 3 hours straight after and I'm crying right now typing this because everytime I look in the mirror I feel hideous because of these brows. I simply asked for them to be cleaned up and she removed half of my eyebrows in the middle. NEVER GET THEM DONE HERE!! read more

This is embarrassing. I need a refund. The guy was super rough the whole time. He also watched random videos while doing my nails. It was uncomfortable. The dip powder seemed cheap. He used the nail dremmel bits to create the designs. He didn't clean up any designs nor did he use proper brushes. It was so embarrassing that I drove down the road to a different salon and they re-did my nails. The 2nd salon was alarmed how poorly they were done. Please provide me a refund. read more

This will never last blah blah blah I was like wtf did people do before gel u prick chill out He didn't even give me a clear coat He said k go dry...didn't turn on my dryers or help me grab my things and then asked me to pay and I couldn't help but laugh and say you'll wait until my nails are dry. They have fallen off dramatically. When I first started going there I gave them 5 stars. It was at the beginning of the pandemic. I was greeted and offered a beverage and the service was phenomenal! Came back several times. This time, I wasn't offered a beverage. Had to ask for the chair massage. My toenails were cut crooked and the polish job was ridiculous with the edge of the nails left uncovered. I paid and left, never to return again. Wasted my money. Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, you almost miss this place! This was the best and most affordable gel manicure I've ever had, all because of Billy. Billy was the most wise, kind, interesting individual I've ever met at a nail salon. He takes pride in what he does and gives interesting tips and analogies for nail and skin care. He offered me water right away and kept making sure I was comfortable. The only downside was that there was no mini hand and arm massage at the end because I LOVE that part, but my nails look wonderful and feel soft, so I am extremely happy. Next time I'm getting a pedicure too! The equipment is updated, there is nice background music, and the foot baths are beautiful! Go to Nail Q! read more

Though I have had good experiences here before, this time was awful and I would never return. I had the most painful manicure I've ever received in my life. Five of my fingers bled and are still very sensitive and sore. The man who was doing my manicure was violently stabbing my cuticles and I told him how it really hurt and he just continued to do it. Then he very harshly buffered over all the bleeding areas of my skin. I was hoping to just trust the process but it was awful. read more

I have been coming here for the longest time! My nails are always done exactly the way I like them and they Really last! Loan knows my styles, my colors, and truly makes sure you're happy! I can honestly say that this is the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I have to go put a bandaid on my pinky because they are not the least bit gentle. I asked for a manicure and acrylic set but the only thing he did was file my nails... The acrylics are OK. A couple of them are actually a bit crooked because he filed them too thin. The paint job is terrible. There are small air bubbles in the paint. They do not have up to date nail drying techniques, so I sat there for an extra 20-30 minutes. Way too over priced in my opinion. I am so unsatisfied with this manicure I will be going to another place tomorrow to have my nails filed and repainted so they look presentable. read more

Nails Q - ( I just got a spray tan so my hands look dirty, but this is how my nails looked after I left) - Nail Salons Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Where do I start. I'm going to make a long horrible story short. I went to this same nail salon about 4 years ago. Had a strange experience with "Lauren" (sits at the very front by the register). When I first came in there I ask her could she do designs. She told me yes and to look on Pinterest to show her. I had to explain to her that I was not ok with how she was talking to me compared to how kind she was talking to her white customers. She was talking and laughing with them and showing them respect and then when it came to me she was very short, cutting me off and telling me that she couldn't do WHATEVER I asked. I had vowed to never go there again. But because of the coronavirus and people staying in the house, a lot of nail salons are closed. They were actually open, I needed some pampering, so I went to them. Big mistake. She was even more nasty to me this time. Anything I asked for, as in a design even the simplest design, she was telling me that she couldn't do it. Then she was over the top sarcastic and rude about how my nails looked when I first sat in her chair. The way she polish my nails and the way that she did my nails so sloppy is truly upsetting. There was a white woman sitting beside me and I asked her "do you hear what's going on" and she said "yeah it's crazy". Even she was hearing how Lauren was being extremely rude to me for no reason. I've Never understood the reason why they are so rude to black women when we bring them in so a lot of money and clientele. I will never go back to that nail salon and if you aren't fair skin, I suggest you not to either. This seriously is one of the worse shops in Wilmington. read more

I only gave two stars because yes, the guy did a good job on my nails. Before I even go any further, I have to say that im such a sweet person and I treat EVERYONE I come across with the upmost respect. Now I've come here twice before, only because everyone else was booked. This is the third and last time I will come because the guy that did my nails (sits at the first chair on left) was VERY rude. I thought maybe he'd had a long day the other times I've come so I disregarded his attitude. Not only did I tip him well, I still was nice to him. This last time getting my nails done, He said something to his co worker and the coworker looked at me, cool.. but as I was checking out he said my service was $75, but I got the same style as last time and it was $65 and so that's what I said. He said something to the owner and said "fine $65" snatcher my card and threw the pen at me. I just gave him no tip and walked out because he'll get his karma. But if you have another choice, choose them. I will not be back. Idc if I have to wait a year for another appointment. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

This salon changed ownership about six months ago and I had only been here once before it changed ownership and now I come here for my pedicures and to have my nails done. Luanne always does my nails, either gel or acrylic and she does a great job. Ive been to mannyyyyyy nail salons in wilmington trying to find the perfect technicians and thats exactly what Ive found here. Lizette did an awesome job on my pedicure, she didnt rush and she gave a great massage. Theyre both very personable. I would def recommend this salon to anyone who wants a great mani/pedi!!! Been searching for a nail salon home in Wilmington. This most certainly was NOT it for me. I was treated rudely and rushed the moment I came in the door. I asked for a little extra time to soak in my foot soak and he told me basically he wanted to get it over with because he was busy....there was only two other women there. The man that did my feet and nails barely spoke to me and was annoyed with me until the very end when it was time to tip. The women made rude comments to each other about me in their own language and laughed at me. I tried to be polite and respectful the whole time but it was VERY difficult. I was made fun of the entire time. (I'm a woman of color) On top of that, there was a man there who looked like a family member who wasn't even doing nails that sat a chair away and stared at each female customer's feet and said NOTHING. So awkward. My nails are rushed and uneven and I have polish up to my cuticles. All and all a fill in and a pedicure for $61. FOUR DAYS LATER AND MY NAILS ARE ALREADY CHIPPING UP read more

All of the people that work there are very friendly however the experience I received was absolutely horrible I don't know if the nail polish with old or the guy that did my nails put too much on but I went in today to get my nails hot pink and its been almost 2 hours since I've left the salon and my nails are still wet anything I touch my nails messed up and unfortunately I have work in an hour and don't have time to go back and get them fixed $27 wasted and I guarantee I'll never be back again read more

Nails Q - Horrible job. Didnt even dry - Nail Salons Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Great nail salon. Very clean. Very professional. Great color selection. Will return on my next visit to the beach.

Since I moved to Wilmington, I have been giving myself pedicures to save a little money. After less than spectacular results, I decided to research nail salons using good, ol Yelp. I chose Nails Q. The interior was very simple and modest with gentle music playing. I picked my color and was seated in a pedicure chair. Some reviewers stated that they were immediately offered "a beverage" upon arrival. The salon must have been out of drinks that day because I wasn't offered one, and none of the other guests appeared to have beverages. My clinician was a mixture of tentative and aggressive. I am very sensitive, and she reacted to my every flinch. However, when it came time to scrub my feet, it was so painful that I had to ask her stop. "But, you have corn," she replied, giving a few more swipes at my feet. Incidentally, when I returned home, the skin was rubbed off the bottom of one toe, and I had to apply two Band-Aids because it hurt to walk. This salon does not have that fancy machine that dries your nails. So, when I arrived home, I noticed smudge marks on two nails. Otherwise, the color stayed on well. I couldn't believe the price for this place. My pedicure was $1.00 more than my Charlotte salon, and the place/experience wasn't nearly as nice. More research on nail salons to be done! read more

I went into the salon for a mani/pedi. Of course as always I picked out my color first. I then went to soak my feet, for 25 minutes! My pedicure was very short, I watched the one taking place next to me and my guy skipped several steps. My toes after, do not at all look professionally done. My toes look as though I painted them myself. After my pedicure, I had to wait another 25 minutes to get my nails done because the guy that did my pedicure does not do acrylics. I was actually happy about this. I finally went to get my nails done, at this point it is close to closing time, this was not my fault as I had to wait almost an hour. The women who did my nails was rushed and very short with me. She cut my finger, and was very rough. I am writing this review the next day, my nails are very sore! $70.00 for this experience. I won't be back. read more

My paint chipped after the second day and she left wax on my face after doing my eyebrows.

I've gone to this nail salon for a while because it's close to my house. When people ask me where I get my nails done I tell them Nails Q, followed my "it's really gross in there but they do a good job and it's close to my house so I keep going." Well today definitely sealed the deal I will NOT be going back!!!!!!! First, during my pedicure there were 2 gigantic flies literally crawling on my legs the entire time. Everything in there is covered in nail dust I'm not sure if they ever clean. Second, when I went to pay she swiped my card several times and told me their machine wasn't working so she needed cash. I didn't think anything of it and went to the ATM in the shopping center to get cash. I paid them and left. A few minutes later I checked my bank account and they had taken out $81 FIVE TIMES!!!!! I went back in immediately and showed them on my bank app. They said "it will go away in a few days" and refused to give my cash back. I went to my bank AND called the bank customer service who said it wouldn't go away without a dispute, but they couldn't dispute it because I didn't have a receipt from paying cash. I went AGAIN to nails Q (3rd time now) and had to basically demand for my cash back. The girl had the audacity to say "well you gave me the tip in cash too earlier so here is the $81 back for the service I am keeping the tip." read more
