Checked out Omakai on a whim after being at Saks On 5th and it started to rain. Figured we would duck in for happy hour. First of all, it's important to note that there are no rolls at this sushi spot. Sashimi, nigiri and hand rolls are a plenty though! Their happy hour menu has a lot of options too for great prices. The fish was incredibly fresh, the sake was warm and the beer was cool! Service was also amazing. I'd definitely come back to try their omakase experience. They also have a vegetarian omakase experience, which is not the norm but very helpful if you have a vegetarian in the group! My favorites were the oysters, salmon hand roll and the scallop hand roll!

This omakase restaurant in the Aventura area of Miami offers authentic high quality ingredients in a cool modern atmosphere. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a bar. We arrived for lunch and I ordered the OMA Deluxe several course lunch special $40. It was very fresh but I do prefer a sushi roll which they do not have on their menu. Service was good but did have to wait for water.

This was one of my first omakase-style dining experiences and I'm definitely very pleased. I love sushi, nigiri, sashimi, etc and the flavors and freshness of the fish were amazing. The servers were very knowledgeable and friendly and explained each dish very well. I was also pretty full towards the end of the meal. My only concern was the temperature of the rice in some of the nigiri. It was a little warm and wouldn't hold its shape, causing the roll to fall apart sometimes. However, excellent service and food.

This is hands down the best omakase spot I've tried in Miami and broward. All the food was 10/10 and the prices are unbeatable compared to other restaurants similar to this concept. The service was 10/10 as well, the server David answered all our questions and explained all the dishes very throughout. The playlist at the restaurant was also something that stood out to me , it was hitting lol. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Another banger dinner served by Omakai, tried a new location, and im happy to say they consistently serve amazing sushi, great serve staff and nice cozy intimate ambiance, great location for a lowkey dinner or happy hour with the girls. Lots of free parking and had the omakase set plus a few extras.

Hey Foodies, who said good sushi has to be stuffy? Omakai has omakase for $50. Leave it to them. Affordable consistent Omakase you don't have to think comes at a good pace. Service is great. One of our favorite combos are their deluxe it comes with an app which for this season was their soba noodles. So good. Their sashimi special which for us was their salmon. Their handrolls Negi-Toro Hand Roll and Blue Crab Hand Roll. What I love is how it's always fresh. It's not overdone and you know they know what they're doing when the rice is the perfect temperature. We did add a little to our deluxe this time by ordering their Otoro uni caviar nigiri and unagi foie gras because it's my favorite.

The best sushi i've had in my life! Sushi is my favorite food, but i've never experienced it at such an amazing level until I stumbled into Omakai for dinner. Went in with no expectations, and was met with great service from Karyna. She was super sweet and attentive. We ordered the Oma and the Oma Deluxe. Dinner was spectacular, every piece of nigiri was better than the last. Fish was fresh and flavorful, and all the bites had a twist that made them unique. Can't wait to come back and try the summer menu and the Omakai Experience!

OMAKAI sushi is a great omakase and sushi spot in Aventura! I've actually never been to the plaza or area that this sushi spot is located in and love that it's not directly in that busy mall area. Came here with my boyfriend to celebrate after an event. We were hungry and after a quick search he found this spot and I said yes because we're always in the mood for sushi. It was a little over an hour to closing and a weekday so we had no issues being seated right away. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and our server, Alex, was super friendly and quick to greet and help us get our drink order started. After perusing the menu, we choose on the OMA, which was their classic set that included an appetizer, sashimi special, seasonal fish nigiri, kanpachi nigiri, salmon nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, bluefin tuna nigiri, hand roll special, and blue crab hand roll. We also order a few other hand rolls and nigiris: negi-toro hand roll, bay scallop hand roll, wagyu A5 nigiri (comes with two), and their unagi foie gras nigiri (comes with one since its a specialty nigiri). Everything here was five stars!! From the service to the quality and taste of each bite, we loved everything here. It was hard to pick a favorite but we loved the unagi foie gras, wagyu A5 nigiri, bay scallop hand roll, and the seared dorade nigiri. Pro tip: they can sear anything if you request it! I love how they also knew we were sharing, so they asked if we wanted our hand rolls cut in half. It isn't easy to share omakase style meals but we made it work and they helped us so much. We absolutely love this place and so happy we found it on Yelp! Can't wait to come back to try new things and get some of our favorites.

Fresh fish and affordable. This place has a great happy hour menu and the prices are pretty affordable. I loved every piece. I got the OM set and it was delicious. Service was good and the restaurant is sleek

Some things to know upfront: no sushi rolls here! Apps, sashimi and nigiri. So, if you can't handle raw fish, you might struggle to eat here. AND they have a happy hour that is really worth early bird dinner. Lastly, I am a raw fish snob. I can't eat it if it has even a hint of fishiness to it. Knowing that, here's me review. This place is around the corner from the corner restaurant. It's a relatively small restaurant so evenings might be tough to get a spot. We went around 430 and were delighted when we saw they had a happy hour. We were able to lock and choose what we wanted and keep the price below the pre-set menu options where the chef pics your fish. We had a variety of sashimi and nigiri and I have to say, the nigiri is where these guys really shine. Adding small ingredients like pickled wasabi, daikon and sea salt, just to have a few, to ramp up the fish flavors. Id skip my sashimi all together next time and go for nigiri. They were also nice enough to accommodate my request for no wasabi in my food. Everything we had was very fresh and up to my high standards for fresh fish. The negi-tori hand rolls were super crispy and delicious. Definitely tasted like they used high quality seaweed. We had a wonderful waitress who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the fish and flavor profiles. The atmosphere was high-end, modern-minimalist. It was pretty quiet when we went in cause it was early dinner time, but I imagine it's poppin' in the evening. It's not a cozy place, like some hole in the wall, independent sushi spots, though. Definitely come here if you love fresh fish sushi! It's worth the try and I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Authentic and very fresh sashimi and sushi. Everything couldn't have been any better. I had the assorted sashimi. I had the bay scallop hand roll and the oma bite with a sota sake. Angela provided excellent service and answered all my questions. This was my first experience at this restaurant that I found by Google and their reviews. It won't be my last. I highly recommend this culinary experience where the flavors zing in your mouth.

My sister and I checked out Omakai Sushi in Aventura a few days ago and had such a great experience! The place is small but super cute and cozy. She ordered the Oma Vegan and I got the Oma. Both of which came with 6 courses. We were both stuffed by the last course. The fish was so fresh it melted in your mouth. We also both had the Sake Peach Bellini which was super enjoyable to drink, I wanted another one but I had to drive. Our waitress was so sweet and really attentive, which made the whole vibe even better. Definitely recommend this place for a girls night or date night if you're in the mood for some fire sushi! We made a reservation but we really didn't need to.

I really want to say that I really enjoyed the wasabi since I believe that they have the real deal. We got the omakai experience which my friend and I enjoyed. I did took notes of what got: -Bluefin tuna and European snapper sashimi: I feel like they started pretty strong with these two. This two tasted very fresh and delicious. -European snapper with chives soup: I'm not sure if this was supposed to be served warm since it came to use not cold but not warm. It had a cooked fish so I'm thinking it should have been served warm? I did enjoy the flavor just not the temperature it was given to us. -Nigiri of 4 pcs: I liked these variety, they were pretty tasty and I would honestly order them again. -King crab with dashi soy and caviar: this one was delicious! -Nigiri of 4 pcs: I was a fan of the first plate of nigiri but when this round came about, I noticed that the bluefin toro I was served was old. It had a brown color and the slice looked like it was sliced a couple of hours ago. I did point this out to the server we had and they immediately changed it. The piece was better a bit but still had a light brown color by the edges. -Wagyu rice bowl: buttery meat goodness. -2 gunkans: yummy combo. -Miso soup with yuzu peel: this was kinda weird since it had yuzu peel with no tofu. But it was definitely also delicious. -Strawberry and condensed milk: ummm disappointing dessert to say the least. Over the food we ate, both my friend and I got an upset stomach... the dessert was disappointing but I would also say that they had some pretty delicious combination!

My only complaint is that food came out a bit slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy at the time. Like serve me all my orders all at once pleaseeeeee so I can indulge lol What I Had: _________________ Sashimi Assortment - 10/10 Freaking delicious. Light, decadent, and incredibly fresh. Each piece tasted clean and high-quality, the kind of sashimi that melts the second it hits your mouth. They did their thing! Kanpachi Sashimi - 10/10 So good. Soft, delicate, and perfectly fresh. Every bite was balanced and flavorful without being heavy at all. Nigiri - White Fish Tasting - 11/10 Hands down my favorite part of my experience. I ordered multiple rounds (they come two per order), including branzino and snapper. The branzino was unreal. I wanted only branzino... that is how marvelous it was. Topped with this umami crunch that added so much texture and flavor. It was literally mouthwatering, like a burst of flavor in every bite. I honestly could've kept ordering this all night. Nigiri - Bluefin Tuna Tasting - 5/10 This one just wasn't for me. It wasn't fishy, but the texture was very slimy and didn't sit well in my mouth. It didn't swallow smoothly and just wasn't appetizing to me personally. Definitely a pass. Blue Crab Hand Roll - 6.5/10 I know this is a fan favorite, but it was just okay for me. Not bad at all, just didn't wow me compared to everything else I had. For $6, it's fine, but I wouldn't rush to reorder it. Customer Service: 8.5/10 Friendly and helpful, just slightly slow. We normally check the Michelin Guide first but there's none for Miami so we decided to browse through Tock for fun. This was how we stumbled upon Sushi Bar and we are so glad we did! The price point of $185 per seating is super worth it. You get a lot of fish and they are very creative with each nigiri. Their spin on it shows their creative side (with Miami flavors) but is not super over the top and sauce does not drown out the freshness of the fish. Something that stood out to me was how they shaved frozen monkfish liver as a topping. I wanna go back just for that!! They also had some pieces where they smoked the fish. Besides the food, I thought it was very creative how they welcomed guests with a welcome drink at the hotel bar. This was so unique! We finished ours early, and had some of their other drinks - they were all very good! Once they're ready, a server came to get us from the hotel bar and led us through an alleyway to a separate building which was where the actual omakase was taking place. The atmosphere was dark and gave off speakeasy vibes, which I thought was different to other omakase places. Bar is spacious enough to still have private conversations. We did the beverage pairing and we really appreciated the sommelier's knowledge. Overall, we would want to come back again for another tasting experience!!
