There are tons of breakfast restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area. We tried this one because our son suggested it. The menu is heavy on pancakes and waffles, but there are other typical breakfast items, too. There is also a lunch menu, too. I had the waffles with bananas and pecans, my wife had the pancakes with bananas and chocolate chips, and my son had the pancakes with pineapple and coconut. We also each got an egg. Everything was cooked well and delicious. It's one of the good breakfast spots here at Myrtle Beach. read more

Olympic is a life saver. They offer real coffee, for take out, early in the morning when the only other option is Starbucks. Staff were super friendly. This resulted in us returning for an amazing breakfast. They have an impressive menu. Worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

Seems to be more pancake and waffle joints in the south than Starbucks. That's ok. Really. Decided on Olympic Flame for brunch for two reasons: it's convenient to SeaGlass Tower and yelp* reviews, for the most part, positive. Katie was my server and my order was simple: their Chef's Omelet filled with Meats, veggies and cheese and a short stack of hotcakes. Service was good and food came out quickly. Even on Myrtle Beach Marathon Day. The chow? Well, the portions were generous and filling and good but nothing really special. That's okay. This place is obviously an oceanfront institution and their business seems to be excellent, so consistency is key. Pricing is fair for Vaca food. I wish they had real butter for the hot cakes. My omelet sounded good in theory with bacon, tomato, spinach and feta. In practice, It had at least 6 ounces of feta and that taste totally overwhelmed all of the other flavors. 2 omelets and a Belgian waffle were $50, but the quality of the food and taste scream $30 or less. The interior isn't anything to write home about and utilitarian. The men's room is so small you'll have to go outside to change your mind. Our waitress was attentive, unfortunately I cannot remember her name to give her the recognition here that she deserves. She was tipped appropriately. read more

Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible. The location is definitely convenient, and that's what is desirable. This restaurant is literally a stones throw from a number of hotels on the beachfront. The food is good, not great. The staff was very friendly and polite. The venue itself is interesting, and you get a beachy kind of vibe. This is a place that I would stop by again, due to the accessibility. We ordered fresh toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and coffee. The coffee tasted like those last few cups of water, at the bottom of a mop bucket. We saw a few people with Starbucks cups, and if we went again we'd definitely get coffee prior. The pancakes and French toast were okay. The bacon was surprisingly forgettable. It was thin and somewhat tasteless. Stopped here for breakfast on our last day in MB and it was a great choice for our departing meal. The place was very spacious, and the service was very friendly, and our orders were taking as soon as we were ready. I've been coming to Myrtle Beach for a long time so I've visited here many times. The food is always good. Coffee is a bit weak. I've eaten breakfast most times but sometimes run up there from the beach and grab some take out and go sit back on the beach. It's close to my hotel and the beach. Chicken fingers are good comes with fries and a second side. It's a bit pricey at appx 15 for 4 tenders , fries and okra (as my second side) . Today I had breakfast. And it was good, the potatoes though are really bland and plain. They only offer white and wheat toast, I wish they had other options. My daughter had the pancakes with banana and chocolate chips. It did say the banana and chips were mixed In but looking at the pic you can see that's not the case which was disappointing to her, but it was good. The only thing that holds this place back from getting 5 stars is the wait staff. The greeters and cashier are always so nice but the waitresses are hit or miss and lately it's more a miss. I liked to be checked on at least once... just in case I wanted something. Today I was not checked on until the check came. Waitress wasn't very friendly and when you're working for tips you need to be. I tip 20 percent usually more if the service is fantastic but 15 for subpar service... today saved me 5%. Looking for a good breakfast place while visiting Myrtle Beach. This was ok. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. Unfortunately parking was metered so had to pay. No credit card slot so you either have to have quarters or you can scan the QR. Good choices on the menu. Mediocre food that comes out. Service was not great. Took a whole for the server to ask what we wanted to drink, by that time we were ready to order. She never came back to check on us after we got our food, until we were done and she brought the check. Which was hand written and just had prices, no total, so we had to add it up ourselves and just guess the tax. So strange. Will probably check out a different pancake house next time. Olympic Flame is an old school breakfast spot that we've been going to for years. It's right across from the oceanfront a few blocks away from the old Pavilion. The food, while nothing particularly over the top or special, is consistent--which makes all the difference in the world for me. The interior of the restaurant takes me back to the 70's, before I was born. Haha! All in all, this is a great breakfast spot at the beach. Between Olympic Flame, and my favorite bagel place, I don't need much else in terms of breakfast in Myrtle Beach! read more
