Sweet people work here, but if you dine alone, you may be neglected, especially at lunchtime. Food is decent, but I am not crazy about their guacamole. It has mayonnaise in it. Ugh. read more

Very delicious Mexican food! We will be coming back here for sure. The tamales were huge! The portion sizes served were wonderful for the price you pay. I enjoyed the Mexican Flag Enchiladas. Chips and salsa are addicting! Had dinner and ordered a fish taco. It was very light and delicious. My husband ordered the shrimp cocktail and said that it was very good and would return again. Oh I also order the Mexican pizza with shredded beef. Very flavorful and could only eat half. It was huge! read more

We had the $6.95 lunch buffet. It was a pretty good deal. The food was pretty good. Very good for Ridgecrest. The service was really slow. Might have been the time of day. The lunch buffet price really can't be beat in town! Olvera's is also one of only two places to eat in "Downtown Ridgecrest" (seriously, not even an ice cream or coffee shop...). Food is good - big big portions for a good price. read more

For a small town, I was pretty impressed by this Mexican food. I came in for dinner although I've heard the lunch buffet is the best. Regardless, I ordered a 3 taco plate, one chicken, one carnitas, and one steak soft taco. Food came out pretty fast and was filling. Unfortunately the meat was extremely dry for me and the taco needed a sauce or salsa on top. Also, the salsa served with chips tasted like it was from a can, a little bland. Overall, I would recommend this place as the service and other items on the menu seemed good. read more

This place is a great family run Mexican place. Nothing fancy but attentive service. There are a lot of unique items on the menu and they will make it "your way". We got great advice from Victor, a family member. He suggested several special items and then the flan was delicious. Good selection of beers. Prices are very reasonable. My friend had the Camarones (shrimp) Veracruz ($15.75); I had the tamal / taco / chile relleno combination plate ($9.75). The shrimp were served in a tasty sauce of tender diced tomatoes and onions; the chile relleno, taco, and white-masa tamal sprinkled with cheese were delicious. read more

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine! As good as it gets. I wish the place was a bit nicer, but that is overshadowed by the "crack" tacos - because they are so addicting and delicious fish and seafood. Absolutely everything I've tried has been wonderful! This is a very small Mexican restaurant the el torrito of Ridgecrest Ca we go there at least once a week the food is great I enjoyed everything I've ever had there except the mole that taste like bbq sauce. You can't go wrong with the tacos! read more

I could eat here everyday of my life. I'm typically a fan of the Amica Pollo, good and greasy and all too tasty, and the sides won't leave all but the hungriest of people wanting. Staff is courteous, kind, and friendly, and prices are reasonable. If you're looking for local Mexican, this is the place. read more

There is a buffet during lunch hours. It is small, the items it had were fajitas, flautas, enchiladas, Chile verde, Chile rillenos, and wet burritos (chicken and beef). Then rice and beans, salad and toppings. Everything was really good. Especially for buffet food. They keep it all in warmers and covered so it's not dry or cold. I've never had Mexican buffet, I was impressed with the quality. read more

It's a cookie cutter Mexican food restaurant without the typical large portions and super bland food. I had carnitas and al pastor. The pastor was well seasoned but mostly fatty chunks of meat that were dried out and chewy. The carnitas was so bland, dry, and chewy that I didn't even want to finish it. No homemade tortillas, just those cheap store bought corn ones. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it. read more
