I love this place. They have a specialty drink list. Every drink on the list is served in a schooner glass. They use good liquor also for the drinks. So far my favorite is their Mai Tai. Awesome! They have daily menu specials too. I like bar bites and they have a good simple menu. My favorite item is the 3 crispy taco plate. Can't forget the fried pickles... Good draft beer selection and the beer is nice and cold.

This is Happy Hours bar and grills menu. I highlighted what I got, the Rise N' Shine burger.

First time eating at Happy Hours bar and grill. I ended up getting the Rise N' Shine burger, as shown. I was pleased that the TVs were showing game six of the NBA Finals, Indiana Pacers vs Oklahoma City Thunder, which was a nice atmosphere. The service wasn't horrible. The burger was amazing! I need to go back a couple more times to make sure it's consistently that amazing. My only tiny harp was I had asked for tater tots and was given fries. Again, that's just me but the fries were good. ALSO, for all you soda lovers, I was amazed to see on my bill that refills are free! The Rise N' Shine burger pushes my review from 3 stars to 4 Stars

Southwest eggrols, buffalo chicken fries, side salad and smash burger with onion rings.

We tried this place twice when they first opened and weren't too impressed. We decided to wait a while for them to work out the kinks and tried them again just yesterday. This time the quality of food was so much better. We enjoyed everything we had and it all came out hot with great flavor. The one thing that took a star away was service. Service with a smile seems to be a dying art and there was one person working the entire front of the house. So the bar tender was also the waitress and this meant it took time for everything. On a Saturday that's pretty crazy. So hopefully they hire more people for a better, more consistent flow of Service.

We LOVED it. They had the best pipers I had in the very long time. Pretzel was wonderful too. We had one like this in Denver a few years ago. The place is very clean and staff is friendly and helpful. I am coming back for sure. Oh!! They have lady's night and music. I can't wait to participate ;) go visit. A+

Special of the day: steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli, garlic butter

Delicious steak and the sides were good. Service was fast, quick refills. Loud distorted tv audio coming from cheap speakers on the wall right above the table.

Menu is something you'd see at a snack shack. Multiple televisions on with different shows was very distracting and loud.

After 11 hours straight on the road, I was looking for a blue-collar place to get a balanced meal…read more Ale's steakhouse was the one I chose. No previous experience with this place, but lots of experience with Ridgecrest-NWC China Lake. I have been coming here since 1979. Yeah, damn long time. Back in those days, we would all go out to Inyokern for a great meal at Indian Wells Lodge. It was a little bit of a drive out of town, but well worth it. This time I knew I would be too tired to do that, but next time, for sure. So, what has changed in Ridgecest over the past 44 years? Not much, except more escapees from the LA Metro area. Same dusty, wind blown, hot as hell location in the high desert. Same salt of the earth residents and former military families just trying to survive. That is the attraction of this area. Plenty of No-BS people, unlike the cesspool of LA and Orange Counties. Refreshing to spend time around these unpretentious folks. You can see the meal in the pics. Jealous? You should be. I topped it off with a Margarita for dessert. Angelberto was my server, and he was welcomed by many other regulars tonight. Eat your hearts out, people. I studied all the meals that went past me to other tables. Lots of happy people and good-looking meals

First let me say that the options in Ridgecrest are limited. You aren't going to find the best…read moreMexican food in the world here, but the Mexican restaurants are a better bet on average. But you don't want Mexican food, so what to do? Well, the ambiance and service here are fine. The food is fine. You aren't going to leave here feeling like it was a terrible experience, but you aren't going to leave trying to plan your next trip back either. My burger was slightly overcooked and slightly under seasoned. The fries were fine. The toppings were fresh. My wife's salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and a reasonable amount of over cooked chicken. Our server was fine if a little inattentive. The decor is fine. You know you're in a steakhouse-esque establishment that isn't in its hey day. But things are clean enough. I'm sure I'll be back the next time I come to Ridgecrest. Mostly because a restaurant that is 'fine' is about as good as I've found here.
