I hadn't been over to John's for anything other than breadsticks since the late 90s. On a whim, gave it a go. Great pizza and very generous on the toppings. The crust ran a little thick but delicious. This pizza did not affect my hypoglycemia, which is a real shocker! The price blew me away. About $10 cheaper than the other place by the movies. What a hidden gem of a pizza parlor! It doesn't look big from the outside, but as you enter the building, you can see that it's pretty huge. They've got a big dining area, banquet rooms, and a game room. Great place to host a birthday party. I was recommended the breadsticks and whipped honey butter, ranch, and nacho cheese. Honestly, if this was all I had to order, this was a meal all in itself! The bread was hot, fresh, and soft on the inside. Each bite was like a warm pillow in my mouth. My coworker also recommended the Peanut Butter Pepperoni Pizza. The last time I had one was at John's Incredible Pizza in Bakersfield several years ago. Apparently, this pizza joint is THE original John's and the first owner was the one who created John's Incredible. Also, fun fact....Mark Hoppus (from Blink 182) used to work here when he was in high school. Would I come back to try the other pizzas? Of course I would! That and some of the delicious looking sandwiches I read on the menu. Also heard their ice cream is homemade and top notch. Also, shout out to Karen our server who was an absolute peach. Outrageously expensive & disappointing with the quality of my food order. I looked up the menu items online. When I asked about the prices, I was advised the online menu wasn't the right menu. I ordered to go, an Antipasto salad, 3 breadsticks w/cheese sauce & large soda, was $37. I thought I heard incorrectly. This place is just great! I've had some really delicious pizza in OC/LA areas, so when I came to this small town I did not think anything in town could top that. However, John's Pizzas are made to perfection every single time I stop by! It's literally like the pizza you see in the Goofy movie!! When you pull a slice apart the cheese doesn't rip right away, it's crazy! But I don't think it's a bad thing at all. The service is incredible. They are ALWAYS so sweet and helpful and patient with me, my family, & friends. Also, the honey butter is DELICIOUS with the breadsticks. The Oreo ice cream is my favorite but they have many flavored options to choose from. I would 10/10 recommend this place for birthdays, quick dinners, lunches, etc. they have a great menu and different pizza size options to choose from. & the food is just amazing! Servers were nice but the food was extremely disappointing. Salad was okay. Pizza was undercooked / doughy and the toppings fell off everytime we tried to grab a slice. Ordered breadsticks we never got. Nachos were the worst of all. Not a single whole chip on the entire plate, they dumped the bottom of the bag onto the plate so it was full of crumbs, toppings added that I asked to not be on there, gross canned plasticky cheese, and the portion was tiny. On 7/14/25 I called in for 2 orders of bread sticks, 2 cheeses & 2 honey butter. I live about 30 minutes away from them. I called in my order once i got into town, they told me it would be about 20 minutes. It was around 7 pm, they close at 8. I didn't bother to check them for freshness. Big mistake, they were hard and dry. The restaurant was already closed when I realized this. I waited until the next day to call and complain. The person I talked to told me that because I didn't check them when I got them and didn't call when I got them that they couldn't do anything about it. I asked the girl, "Am I supposed to check my items for freshness before I leave?" Her reply, "Yes, or you could ask us to do it." So, needless to say, I told her she won't be getting my business again. They sure have gone down hill from 2 years ago when I left a review on their page. Went back and ordered pasta, chicken caeser salad, a pizza, and another dipping sauce for the weird breadsticks. I wish Gordon Ramsey would have been at this meal with me cuz I don't know the right words to say how disappointing this food was. Fettuccine Alfredo add chicken ($4.95 for the add-on) was served cold, and the portion was small for $16.75. The chicken was a little small handful of dry, pre-diced, sad pieces of chicken. The chicken caeser salad was the same size as the pasta, with the same pathetic little handful of dry chicken kibble on top and for some reason the dressing was on the side-- if I had known they don't toss their caeser salad, I'd have requested it tossed. However, that ramekin of what they call caeser dressing told on itself. It was soybean oil goop and made for the worst caeser salad I've ever had. The pizza was OK but bland and not worth the price when Pizza Hut makes better pizza cheaper. My bill was $94 for a bunch of disrespect as consumers. We will only come back for the arcade which is fun (and maybe a banana split). Service was pleasant. read more

I called for a delivery order, I was told it would be 30 minutes, over an hour later I called to see were my order was, I was told the drivers were on break and would bring it as soon as they came back. I asked if my pizza would be hot and fresh, she replied "We don't just keep it out, it's in the warmer"! 20 minutes later, my food was delivered! The pizza was cold, my breadsticks were soggy and the honey butter they make now is terrible! I feel just kids are running the place, very sad such an iconic restaurant in Ridgecrest is terrible now!! I won't be ordering from there again. read more

I grew up in Ridgecrest and this place holds a special place in my heart. Every year my twin brother and I celebrated our birthday at John's because the food is good, the environment is welcoming, and there was a fun arcade. I know there have been a lot of changes throughout the years, but every time I visit home, I have to stop by and have some breadsticks. The breadsticks and ranch from here would be a last-meal request from me if I had to. The arcade is not as big and expansive as it used to be, but I appreciate that they have put in the effort to keep it going and provide a fun place for kids to go to in town. read more

We enjoy this pizza place, I've reviewed their thick crust pizza but my husband decided to get their thin crust pizza the other night. It was still a little thick and could stand to be a little more crispy. But it still tastes delicious, I love their sauce it's a wonderful blend of tangy and sweet, and we ordered their manager special minus the olives. They create it Chicago style....sauce, toppings and then cheese. It's also cut in the squares. We also shared their lasagna and it was just as tasty. Our sweet server put up with our friends nonsense and dad jokes and didn't rush us as it was close to closing. We enjoy this restaurant a great deal. read more

Extremely overpriced and terrible customer service.. my waiter was very rude AND tried to argue with me. (I'm a server myself at another local restaurant and his behavior was unacceptable) I will never go back to John's pizza. This is the only place in all of ridgecrest that I would NOT go back to. I can see why they don't get much business. It has the potential to be decent establishment, the upgraded arcade is nice. But that's the only good thing I can say about John's pizza. I'm a local who grew up here, and while I hadn't visited this place in years, I returned over this past summer and ate there many times during it. Turns out the entire time I was eating there, there was a massive roach infestation, amongst many other issues, and the owner kept it open. Imagine finding out that the place you basically spent your summer at has the words "Multi Generational Live Roaches," in the report. The so called manager is the absolute worst!! I also asked for a bandaid for my hurt child and they stated they didn't have any. This is the best pizza in Ridgecrest. It's also 1 of only 2 non-national-chain pizza restaurants in town, so there's that. Tried their peanut butter pizza and a pepperoni -- the peanut butter was much better than I expected and I'm glad I tried it, but probably not something I would need to order again. The pepperoni would be a solid 4 stars anywhere else but in Ridgecrest it's a 5. The regular crust hits a nice balance between too thick and too thin. Good service at the takeout counter. Almost forgot: their breadsticks are good, more like a small baguette and more like real bread than, say, the hotdog buns that pass as breadsticks at Olive Garden. I'd order them again. I will return here next time a craving for real pizza hits me in Ridgecrest. read more

Came here for lunch mid week. We ordered a large Manager's pizza with no olives on half. I ordered iced tea and got ice water. When the pizza came, there were olives on the whole pizza. The pizza cost $30 which was an exorbitant price and it wasn't anything amazing. We got some of their homemade ice cream. The mint Oreo was good. The white chocolate raspberry was a bit bland. Well I was craving pizza and decided to give this place a try. Well, pizza wasn't that great. When I took a slice all the toppings fell off into on big clump. I asked for Alfredo sauce instead of pizza sauce and I got no sauce. So I basically paid extra for no sauce. I did really like their bread sticks. It came with your choice of dipping sauce and I got the spicy cheese sauce. So, I will order here again but I won't get their pizza. read more

Drove 3 hours to go visit my family, wanted to find some good pizza and games for the kids, heard this place had games. Perfect!! Just what i was looking for?? Not quite! The night got ruined when we ate. Ordered 2 large pizzas, pepperoni for the kids, managers pizza for us the adults. Well, i thought i ordered pizza, instead we got cheese pasta with soggy dough, because the second you grabbed the slice, all the toppings would slide off the slice. I didn't think it was normal so I asked and they confirmed it. Yes, that's the way it is. Are you serious!!???? When we asked for at least for a spatula for the slice they said they didn't have any. Too bad i didn't record it to show you, it's a joke, you CANNOT call that pizza!! The toppings on the plate with soggy dough in your hand is not pizza, it's a joke. The reason why I give two stars it's because two of the three people that helped us were very nice and the kids had a good time playing the games, good ambiance.
