I don't drink wine so I know nothing. Then she also let me sample their sparkling almond wine, now that was absolutely delicious!!! I got a bottle to share with my mom and husband. We liked it so much that my mom went back and got a case . The outside of the winery is beautiful with views of the Bear Valley springs and Tehachapi mountains. The inside of the winery has a cabin feel, lots of tables to sit at and a bar. There is even an outside area to sit at and enjoy the view. The facilities are exceptionally clean, including the restrooms, which is something road travelers really appreciate. Everything about the experience feels first class--from the service to the overall cleanliness and attention to detail. Having great food options nearby is an added bonus, but we'd stop here even without them. If you're traveling between Las Vegas and Northern California, this is absolutely worth making part of your regular route. We'll definitely continue stopping here on future trips.

We stumbled upon this charming little Mexican restaurant tucked inside a La Quinta hotel, which is probably not where we expected to find such a delicious and authentic meal! We had chile verde, pozole, and homemade tortillas--and those tortillas were SO good! Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and homemade. Honestly, this was such a fun little find in an unexpected place. If you're road-tripping through Barstow, this is absolutely a place to put on your list. They had samples of their varieties of olive oil and balsamic. The olive oil is what they create right next door. Kelly helped us out and we got to have samples with little pieces of bread. I forgot the exact names, but I tried the olive oil "with a little spice and kick" and the olive oil that "was like butter". Both were so good- but my absolute favorite was LIKE BUTTER, she was Not wrong. It's hard to find good quality olive oil that you could just sip on for nutrients if you wanted to. But the best part was pairing the olive oil with the balsamic. They imported it straight from Italy. It was like dessert (in the best way possible). Overall, this was a great experience and beautiful ranch to explore.
