Slightly rustic, slightly out of the way little place. Had a relaxing time, although apparently the tri-tip my friend wanted was pulled from the menu a while ago and hasn't returned. Service is quite good, down to the custom wine glass screen toppers, and the red blends and pinot noir both are not bad. Can't say I would rave about them, but I can see why they have a following. Smashburgers were pretty good, tater tots are okay (fresh frozen I assume, but more than adequate all the same), nice enough place to hang outside on the covered patio area in the spring or fall. My friends went for getting glasses of wine which everyone loved their choices. Very tasty selection of food. We got the charcuterie plate which was beautiful and a good size. I escaped to Tehachapi for the weekend with my dog who is deathly afraid of fireworks . We checked into our Airbnb early and I was happy to find out that Tehachapi Wine and Cattle was open for the 4th. I sat by the front door. It was shaded with a cool breeze blowing. It was beautiful! I wish I got the name of the woman who took care of me, because she was amazing! I chose the tasting of all reds and my server chose them all for me. It was really nice not having to think about what I wanted. Everything she chose was exactly what I was looking for. I was hungry when I got there so I ordered a western bacon smash burger. Mike, the owner, brought it out to me. He was worried it wasn't made to his standard and said he would be happy to remake it. Y'all, that burger was the best smash burger I've had. There was no way it needed to be remade. They cooked it perfectly! But I understand where Mike was coming from because I'm the same way when I cook for people. While I was eating and sipping my wine, I was listening to a podcast and writing in my journal. It was very relaxing. My dog did so good while I was there. At one point, a guy who was there alone came over and loved on my dog. We were having a good conversation so I told him he could sit down if he wanted to. The staff noticed him there and made eye contact with me to make sure I was okay. I can't tell you how much that meant to me. It had nothing to do with the guy I was talking to, it was about my level of comfort. To have people who don't know you, look out for you, made me realize that this is a safe place for me to come alone. Another green flag was since I came with my dog, I knew that there was a chance I would need to use the restroom. Well, dogs are not allowed inside but I also did not want to leave my dog with someone she didn't know. The owner allowed me to bring her, just in the bathroom, so I could use the restroom. Please don't take this as your right to take your dog into their bathroom. Always ask first and respect them if they say no. I had a wonderful time at Tehachapi Wine and Cattle. Where to start?!? This place is amazing. I only wish I lived closer. The Wine: I had an incredible small-batch Primitivo that was aged in oak bourbon barrels. It was smoky and subtle at first, with a rich tannin finish and a warm, soft whisper of bourbon. Barely noticeable, but definitely there. I loved this wine and ended up buying several bottles to enjoy later. The Food: I'm not sure why I wasn't expecting this, because as the name implies, they really know their beef. This is a winery that partners with a butcher for the finest selections of mountain-grown beef and they clearly have a man (or woman) on the inside because their cuts were fantastic. My wife raved about the tri-tip salad, and I can honestly say I've never had a better smash burger... Ever. It was called the Black & Blue and featured two fresh smash patties smothered with grilled onions, cheddar, and blue cheese. The cheese intentionally overflowed the burgers and melted onto the grill, creating a ring of crispy, chewy cheddar and blue cheese around the entire edge of the burger. Absolutely fantastic. The Staff: The staff were outstanding. I had a great conversation with the owners, Mike and Beth, about their community and what they're building. Their passion and joy were obvious. Mia and Rhonda were attentive, friendly, respectful, and professional. Tie all of that together with a beautiful view of the Cummings Valley and I don't know what more I could have hoped for. Nice little winery! Visited on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 10. We opted for outdoor patio seating. We started with the wine tasting flight which included 5 tastings. We enjoyed all the selections, my favorite being the Syrah. We order the charcuterie board to pair with the wine. Kids were able to visit the donkeys and horses in the farm area. Came here to do some tasting with my husband and my son. What a surprise from the time we walk in everyone spoke and welcome us. We sat at the bar area so friendly. The 2 young ladies help us with deciding on our choices. Another lady gave my son a birthday card because his birthday was the next day. There were 2 gentleman were friendly too..gave us some delicious warm chocolate chip cookies yummy. We are sure to be back soon. The wine is top notch, the 2017 Primitivo being my favorite, but they have a huge selection for all tastes. What a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Observations: Plenty of lot parking. Dog friendly (we had ours and we were more than welcome on the patio with her) Owners (new) were super friendly and hospitable. Complimentary pretzels will come around now and then. Not sure if they have menus or any type of food to order? I forgot to ask. I did not see anyone eating. Washrooms, super clean. I have seen prettier views at wineries but the location really is nice. It was very busy so the lag between tastings existed HOWEVER it allowed us even more time to chat with of all the other visitors and in the end, shared our table with some awesome people from Missouri. The inside was very quaint. Lively. Tidy. There was live music on this date and we even shared our table with him (David) when he was done with his performance and he had some great stories. I left a message earlier in the week (they are only open on the weekends) to ask a few questions as I was bringing a friend from a couple hours away and was amazed that the owner, Beth, called me back that day! During the phone call I mentioned it was a bd celebration. I was soooo touched when we got there and saw that they had made a welcome board w a Happy Birthday to my friend!!!! I really wish I had the same five experience as so many reviews, but it just fell flat. But I will note that three stars is still decent. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. Inside it was semi busy but plenty of high top tables and some low top tables outside. I did wonder how they might be able to assist anyone in a wheelchair inside since all the tables were high. We seated ourselves at a tables nearest the bar and were offered a menu. It was 5 tastings for $12 a person. The menu was a bit scrambled and could use some help. I realize they want to highlight their Estate wines on top, but I would suggest starting with the lightest wine's on top. Tasting notes would have also been nice, as I usually like to read more about the wine and what I'm tasting. During our tasting there was very little education. We weren't told about the winery, its history, its owners, or even the wines themselves. The wine pours were extremely small and I noticed they were using 1oz plastic liquor pour spouts. We were given 2-3 pours each and each time the spout would leak wine all over the table. It was rather messy. I'm not sure why this was needed - are they really needing exactly the right amount of wine to be poured? Just use wine pour spout cards that are super inexpensive! Unfortunately, one of the wines pours had a large bug (maybe a bee?) in it. My boyfriend noticed it right away and said something politely to our server. No apology from her, or even surprise. She acted almost as if it was common. Super strange. In the end I purchased three bottles, hoping our tasting fee might be waived. But nope. I contemplated buying the Groupon while I sat there just for the wine tasting discount, but didn't. I was shocked they didn't even waive one tasting fee! Overall, the experience was lacking in that we didn't get the same attention as others. No cheese platters. No live music. It just felt weird. As we left around 4 pm we noticed a sign outside indicating they were closed for a private party (everything we saw said they closed at 6p) -- Yikes! Glad we didn't make the drive all the way out here just to find them closed. They really should make an effort to update their social media and profiles to reflect this. A little bit more thought and care to the customer experience would go a long way here. read more

Came here on a Sunday evening while I was visiting family and I had an excellent experience! When you arrive there is a building with the wine bar and tasting room as well as an outside area to relax and enjoy some of their wines. On one side of that building there is a barn and cattle then on the other side is the vineyard where they grow their own grapes! I did the $12 wine tasting and it was well worth it! My favorite wines were the Red Blend, Cab, Viognier, and Gewurztraminer. They have a great selection of wines so it will be easy to find one to enjoy! My party also ordered the cheese platter and a few bottles for the table. We had a wonderful time relaxing, sipping wine and listening to the live music. Groupon experience brought us here! I have done some wine tasting in Sonoma, Paso and now Tehachapi. I have lived here for almost 3 years, but have been pregnant most of my time here that hasn't allowed me to try this venue. The location is great since they have a paved way to get there. 3 years ago we took wedding photos here and it was all gravel so definitely an upgrade with smaller vehicles that aren't off road. We were greeted as we came in super friendly environment. We sat at the bar inside where Mike (owner) served us and offered us a cheese plate that sounded yummy so we couldn't say no. Mike was so helpful I tried pulling up the voucher on my phone since I didn't print it out. We have T-Mobile and I had no service so be prepared if you do too. They do have a AT&T tower so if that's for you. You will be all set! He was able to pull it up on his end. So helpful and definitely appreciated him doing this for us. We are a newlywed couple with twins and a 1.5 year old so getting out is very rare. However I did see a family come with their child stroller in tow so definitely bring your kids if you don't have a sitter super nice outside for you to enjoy the day as a family. We will be back and I enjoyed the wine as well. Katerina was also helpful serving us and answering any questions even had. If you are looking for something fun to do swing by this place. We ate a little, drank a little, and thoroughly enjoyed listening and singing along to the musicians that evening.
