This little bar/restaurant is located in the Mayflower Park Hotel. We ate here twice on a recent trip to Seattle. The first time was after a play at the A.C.T. Theater---we were craving a bite and a drink. Since it was late, the small plates were limited to a cheese and fruit platter which was just perfect for that hour. I ordered a Mojito---rum, sugar syrup, mint---which was very good and refreshing. At that hour, which was around 10P, the place was fairly busy but the wait staff was right on top of it----very efficient and pleasant! Our next experience was a shared club sandwich at lunch---very tasty and an ample serving with shaved turkey, crisp bacon, and Swiss cheese. We ordered fries with that. The small plates and lunch menus offer a lot of choices. We also commented that it was good to have a dining option available in a hotel for those that just want a small meal or something light. Oliver's is nestled inside the Mayflower hotel, walk through the lobby to enter. The bar is pricy but not terrible (think $12 for a cocktail), it is after all in a upscale hotel in downtown. The bar's décor is gorgeous and they have plenty of seating. Soft music in the background, no TV's in the place to distract you. There are giant windows at the bar looking onto the street which offers an excellent people watching view point or there are several small tables scattered throughout. The place is immediately relaxing upon sitting down. The bar selection seems large, they can pretty much make whatever you desire. For me a Lemon Drop (yum!) and my husband ordered a scotch (yuck, but he loves it). The bartender was perfect. The perfect balance of friendly but not in your face. We were immediately given water and a container of peanuts on our arrival (before ordering) which I always appreciate. I found it a lovely setting, perfect for a nightcap after our late dinner out. read more

I am always looking for happy hour options in downtown Seattle. We came after reading reviews that mentioned mini corn dogs. Unfortunately the mini corn dogs were nowhere in sight when we arrived but still enjoyed our happy hour there on a Friday afternoon. Highly recommend the fruit and cheese platter and was more than enough for two people to share. Also have complimentary appetizers but those were not the best and would recommend sticking to the menu instead. read more

This review is specific to my experience which is limited to ordering a Manhattan (two to be specific). Wonderfully mixed.

My girlfriend and I came here to get a glass of Chardonnay (and I repeat-A GLASS) to blow off some steam. The bartender was cordial (not nice) and got us our drinks. Not a big deal as I understand that he had other customers to attend to. we asked for a desert menu and he couldn't help us with it and had to ask a different staff where it was. Oh btw, IT WAS ON THE BACK OF THE SAME MENU! After we finished our food and our wine, he asked if we wanted more to drink. My friend jokingly said "since were hammered with this one please give us this other one..." (referring to how little our wines were and how NO effect it had on us) and we laughed. He said "I can't serve you. You know the rules" I looked at him, looked around me to see if there's anyone from the Health Department around or a manager and sure enough it was just him. I understand that bartenders are personally responsible for overserving a customer.. however I have bartended and served enough years to know that if your customer is not causing a scene, throwing up, or sexually assaulting you or staff then there is no legitimate reason for a bartender to kick out a customer. I don't go here often, but when I'm downtown and wanting to feel adult and drink some Scotch or a really good Martini, Oliver's fits the bill. Now, I'm not big on cocktails, but if you are the bartenders are up to the challenge. They take quite a bit of pride in their work. The interior is dark wood paneling and the place is quite comfortable with some good people watching opportunities from your perch at the bar. read more

This place is like Cheers to me. Everybody knows my name and they are always glad I came. Ok, that's was tacky and I won't say it again. Rae is my favorite waitress and always takes such great care of me. Last time I was in, I ordered a sandwich and it was completely burnt. The kitchen tried to hide the mistake by putting the piece of bread on the inside but Rae noticed and let the kitchen know and took the sandwich off my bill. Yes, you will pay about $10 for a cocktail but unlike other lounges, they use high quality ingredients and the bartenders are on top of their game. read more

This bar deserves the hype. Probably the best Margarita I've ever had. The tomato soup is amazing. I tried lamb for the first time in the form of the lamb burger and it was delicious. Patrick doesn't just "serve" you a beverage, but he makes sure you know/understand/appreciate what you're drinking. Feel free to come in with a date. Or a group of friends. Or even solo. You'll always have a night to remember with Patrick and his work of arts. PS - try the sazerac (better than the Sazerac Bar in NOLA) and absinthe. Hey, how do I give this no stars!!!! Have taken my 3 grandkids to the Mayflower for 13 years at the Christmas Season for an overnighter. As we wait for the elevator, looking into the bar w/ the fabulous Christmas tree, told them I'd take them to Oliver's when they turns 21. Have done this twice, and today our youngest turned 21....so off we go!! Didn't go well.......Thrilled to have the two older ones to celebrate their youngest cousin birthday. Didn't go well....we were kicked out!!!! Aug. 18th, 1:45 entered Olivers. Not one customer there, other than the bartender and waitress As we entered, cocktail waitress came quickly, checking I,D. before we sat down. So, all standing up, oldest grandson, said this this totally strange...you are seated and then I.D. checked. She replied this could save time, etc. etc, ID checked ....okay, Grandson still upset, and waitress rubs his arm.... he told her her to keep her hands off him, and she says she'll not serve him!!!!!! So, off we go, 1/4 of a block to P,F. Changs where we sit down, get ID checked and drop 125.00. So, so much for the tradition!!! Totally amazed by this. What if we had a suite at the Mayflower. Yikes....think twice before you go there. No Maas for me....so sad. read more

I have been going to Oliver's Lounge in The Mayflower Park Hotel for years, never have I or any of my associates been disappointed. Upscale- yet casual ambience, thoroughly enhanced by the servers and bartenders swift and welcoming service. Whether happy hour or late night, Oliver's is the answer to ending your day on a high note. Some cocktails a bit pricey, however they are worth every penny given the attention to detail and generous pour. Do make it a point to try some of their signature cocktails. The burger is excellent, as are other items on the menu. Have made it a tradition to spend Christmas Eve in the hotel and hang out in Oliver's. The ambience is generous with holiday warmth, and always to our delight. I highly recommend this lounge, do not miss an opportunity to visit. read more
