It has been a month of Sundays since I have been to Olive Garden. It is the kind of place that brings to mind friends, family, and good times. The dining area was spacious, clean and intimate enough for a quiet evening with someone special. Our server, Mark, provided impeccable service; we never had to ask for a thing! For lunch, we both opted for the Unlimited Soup and Salad, which has always been one of my favorite things to order at Olive Garden. First up was the salad, served on chilled plates. The breadsticks came out next and were fluffy and hot. The salad paired well with the breadsticks and had just the right amount of dressing drizzled on top. The Tuscan soup arrived piping hot, hearty and comforting, with a savory flavor that made each bowl soul warming. I finished out my meal with a rich, creamy bowl of Chicken & Gnocchi soup, served steaming hot. It was every bit as indulgent and satisfying as I remembered, and it paired well with the hot, soft breadsticks. I totally had a great experience. What I appreciated the most is the consistency; each visit feels similar to the last with flavors, portions, and service I've come to expect. MAMA MIA! Well, I saw this place had 2.8 stars, so I had to come see for myself what these negative nancies were waffling on about. Reading all these negative comments, they're mostly about poor service. WHERE IS THE WOMAN I FIRST FELL IN LOVE WITH?!?! OLIVIA GARDENSON, YOU'VE CHANGED!!! FOR THE BETTER!!! I CAN FIX HER But alas, there's nothing to fix in a beauty like you... Because my oh my, the service was absolute top tier. I believe our server's name was Bree, and she was so kind. lemme just give a shout out to my homie Robert. he is the best waiter I've ever met in my life. Robert was so chill and nice. I went there with my friend for homecoming dinner and Robert made our experience amazing. he made sure our food was good and everything was perfect for our first homecoming. the ambience was nice. Robert had the best humor. he was so funny and nice and a gentleman. he is the best waiter in prosper. once our meal was over, we tipped him generously and MY FRIENDS NEVER DO THAT. but Robert was an exception because he was awesome. thank you Robert for making everyone happy. read more

I've dined here quite a bit recently and I've never been disappointed! This is a convenient location for me, I come here for lunch mostly. The lunch menu is affordable and they give a nice portion. My fav is the chicken Parmesan, I love there shredded cheese on top. My second fav is the lasagna, for dinner I always get the tour of Italy which is so big I can eat it for 3 days lol. I love the Tuscan soup and their salads. The breadsticks are a little too dry for my liking. The cocktails are decent, not very strong though. My waiters have always been friendly and accommodating. We were seated right away: my wife and daughtet ordered the soup and salad, came very quickly. I ordered pasta and meatballs, it took 30 minutes to arrive. 10 minutes after they finished. I ask for a veteran discount, i was told no. The commotion in the kitchen made me lose my appetite. I will never go to another location ever. I will advise people not to dine at any olive garden. Raised in NJ/NY so OG was never our choice when it comes to Italian food but it's kid-friendly so we come here from time to time. The food is decent but the service is down the toilet now. I had to hunt down my server yo order food, had to ask someone yo find our server to get one more bowl of soup, he didn't even show up once yo ensure that our food is good or to refill our water. Not to mention that he got our order wrong when we only order two things. While the food was good, the Olive Garden at Prosper Gates was clearly understaffed today, especially given the local school break. Our server seemed very new and stressed, and it took nearly 20 minutes to receive breadsticks after our drinks. The food took over an hour to arrive, and when it finally did, the server forgot the traditional cheese grater, which was a bit disappointing. I understand everyone has off days, but the experience could've been better with more attention to proper staffing and fair training. read more

I have been to this location several times. Food was good as usual however the service was horrible. This was on Saturday afternoon Nov 16th. The server was down right racist. I am Indian. He went from asking if I have ever been to Italy in my life, the cooks in kitchen don't understand English which according to him is unacceptable, and asking if my wife wants free bread with undertones ranging from I can't afford a trip to Italy and that we were there for the free stuff. Pros: food was great. Breadsticks were the same warm soft breadsticks we've come to love. All of our entrees came out nice and hot. Cons: heavily dressed salad. Asked for a different bowl with less dressing. Again drowning in dressing. AYCE soup and salad: they are very gestapo about not sharing the soup. Both of my kids got kids meals. I got a Tour of Italy and my wife got the soup and salad. My kids like sipping on the broth of the Zuppa and the waiter/kitchen stopped her from getting more after the second bowl. Really? Wife and I ate for an afternoon lunch, plenty of attentive staff, mangers walking around checking on guests as well. Atmosphere was nice with decorations and music fitting for an Italian vibe. I got the crispy chicken Alfredo and salad which is always great, my wife ordered the chicken and shrimp carbonara with chicken gnocchi soup which she enjoyed but not as much as our favorite zuppa tuscana. Waitress was nice and attentive, gave us to go bread on our way out. Enjoyed the experience, will be back. read more

I love to eat at Olive Garden. I usually start with the mozarella pillows, which are so good with the marinara sauce. Then on to the salad, mmmmmm. We love Olive Garden, in general, and our local one especially. But the change in menu was a miss for me today: The chicken Marsala fettuccine with broccoli and mushrooms has been taken off the menu, replaced by stuffed chicken breasts with a Marsala mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes. I added broccoli and was prepared to like it. But there was only one flavor coming through: salty. There didn't taste like there was much Marsala in the sauce. The sweetness of the Marsala should balance the salty flavor of the stuffing but all I had left was saltiness. It was takeout but I've had the previous chicken Marsala fettuccine in takeout and it was pretty good in the original. The mashed potatoes on the side were flavorless, as well. I hope it was just a bad night. But it'll be a while before we do Olive Garden again. Too bad. read more

Visited this location on Friday 12/20/2024 at 1:00pm for lunch - put on the waitlist for less than 5 minutes. We arrive at our table - it was dirty, food on bench and chairs, the floor under table was a mess. Asked the hostess for a clean table, we could see 2 tables freshly cleaned close by and asked if we could have one. We were told that in order to get a clean table, we had to be put back on the waitlist as there were others waiting on tables. Needless to say, we will not return. Went to a nearby restaurant and received excellent service from the hostess to the server to the runner. read more

Food took forever. Service was very slow, it took 30 min to get a salad. The Zuppa Toscana was mostly broth. The lunch lasagne was four bites. The waitress saw how small it was and asked the manager if it was too small or a kids meal. The manager told her that it was the correct size. Seriously it was four bites. We went here for lunch yesterday. Our server was very polite and attentive. The restaurant was pretty busy and we didn't have to ask for refills on breadsticks or soup or salad. We both ordered off the lunch menu and each entree was $10.99. I had so much chicken parm that I took 1/2 home. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs. When we asked for take home containers, our server brought hot breadsticks for us to take home too. Restaurant was clean - it was Valentine's Day - and two managers also came by to ask how our table was. I ordered the Tour Of Italy and it was very good. And I like the idea of this dish because it gives you three different Italian foods on one plate and it really gives you a taste of of what Olive Garden is really about. The only thing is, I wish the waiter we had was more enthusiastic. Every waiter I've had at Olive Garden has always been enthusiastic and fun and that's one of the reasons why I like Olive Garden but this waiter just didn't seem very enthusiastic. Ordered a large catering order for a friend who was grieving a recent loss in her family. Everything was awesome, looked good, smelled good. Friend and her family LOVED it. My only wish is that Olive Garden (and all restaurants) would increase the price of the food so we do not have to tip! Especially in pick up!! I absolutely, really do NOT like the tipping arrangement. And it seems everyone is abusing it now, to where I never know who is appropriate to tip anymore. While I am usually a generous tipper, I am getting to where I intentionally do NOT tip anything, anymore. The person who helped us at Olive Garden To-Go for this order was super sweet and a good employee. Olive Garden needs to pay her well and stop forcing her to rely on the kindness of strangers picking up food. It leaves everyone feeling bad and not wanting to come back as a customer or as an employee! Ok OG! I am updating my review just ONE day after posting my last one! We got To-Go again tonight. We ordered TWO soup, salad AND breadsticks, plus TWO $6 entrees. We requested utensils. We were sent no utensils and shorted a bag of breadsticks. I think it may have been because on my last order, I did not charge a tip on check out and this order I didn't not charge a tip. Maybe I am being insecure, maybe I am being punished. Either way, OG isn't going to force me to tip. And I have a LARGE catering order for 14 families coming up in August I was planning to use OG for. We will see about that. Review for Olive Garden Italian Restaurant (1161 S Preston Rd, Prosper, TX 75078): I recently visited Olive Garden to treat myself after retiring from the Army with over 31 years of service and dealing with a frozen shoulder. The restaurant is conveniently located just about 2 miles from my home. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped. When I arrived on Thursday, July 27, 2010, around 11:30 am, it took quite a while before I was attended to and served water. I had to approach the front desk to inquire about my waiter. Eventually, I ordered my food, opting for an endless salad and planning to take the leftovers home for dinner. During my visit, I inquired about a military discount, but the waiter returned to inform me that they didn't offer one. As I was packing my leftovers, I noticed a fly in my food. I promptly removed it and took care of it using the bottom of my water glass. Concerned about this, I called for a manager to address the issue and showed them the evidence of the fly in my food. Regrettably, the manager seemed to overlook the problem with the fly and instead focused on the discount and mistakenly started clearing my table, even placing dirty dishes on top of my meal-to-go. He seemed more concerned with the fact that I asked about a military discount than he was with the fact that I had a fly in my food. I expressed my disappointment, but the manager apologized and offered a new meal. By that point, I was already quite upset, as it seemed my main concern was being disregarded. He seemed more concerned with the fact that I asked about a military discount than he was with the fact that I had a fly in my food. As a long-term resident of Frisco, I must say this was the worst customer experience I've encountered since moving here in 2010. I don't intend to return to this restaurant, and I sincerely hope the manager learns to prioritize customer service and address issues more effectively, rather than deflecting attention to other matters.
